My first experience last fall was not a good experience. We arrived on an OU gameday and the visiting team was staying here. Since it was a night game, they were late in getting out of their rooms which resulted in housekeeping not able to clean the rooms as fast. We were supposed to check in at 3:00 PM and didn’t get into our rooms until nearly 2.5 hours later. This really messed our plans up as we were hoping to drop our stuff off at the hotel and head to the game. Other than the late check in, it was a good stay. Fast forward to now, we spent the weekend here and had a much better experience. The check in process was a lot smoother and everything went great. I love the location of this hotel with the easy access to the interstate. Plus there are a lot of shopping/restaurants in walking distance. The made to order breakfast is excellent. The cooks were extremely nice and answered all of our questions. My son had a “complex” order on how he wanted them to cook his omelet, and they accommodated with no problem. The breakfast area was clean and they did a great job of keeping the food stocked. The hotel rooms themselves are starting to be outdated. This is starting to be a trend at most Embassy Suites that I stay at. However, I do see many are starting to renovate. The atrium/lobby is nice and is a good place to hang out. They also have pool tables which were fun. The swimming pool and hot tub were great. The pool is very large and made it nice when there were a lot of people in it. The hot tub is a good size as well but does get crowded very quickly. The Starbucks in the lobby is nice to have if you need a treat or a good morning pick me up. They do have a lot of options but don’t offer everything that you would find at a normal Starbucks. Also, I love how they have incorporated OU into the hotel. It’s a nice little touch to remind the visiting teams that they are in Sooner Land. Overall, my experience the 2nd time around was much better. I would note for anyone traveling in on a gameday, potentially expect delays with the rooms. Other than that, this is a great place to stay. I will for sure stay here again.

I’ve *always* loved the Embassy. It’s one of my favorite hotels to stay at. The atmosphere is inviting, the bar feels glamorous, and the breakfast buffet? We’ve even paid to eat there when we weren’t staying the night—it’s that good! The rooms are lovely and it’s 100% certain we’ll stay here again. **But Embassy… it’s time to up the game.** A few things need attention: 📍 **Check-in & Parking** $14 per car per night to park felt steep, especially since we had two cars for two nights. We had some check-in issues due to booking through a third party, and my husband had to call from work to sort it out. Luckily, they waived the parking fee for me after the hassle. 🏨 **Lobby** The carpet is old and dirty. It really brings the space down and gives a tired first impression. It's definitely time for a refresh. 🍸 **Bar** Check-in is at 3PM, but the bar doesn’t open until 5. We got two free drink tickets each, which was a nice touch, but the drink selection was very limited (mostly well drinks and light beer). Different from the unlimited days when you had to wait in line! 😄 That said, *Kendall and Kayman*, the bartenders, were fantastic—super friendly and attentive! 🏊 **Pool** The pool was about 80% of what it could be. There were bugs, a couple of band-aids, and something growing on the side. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned recently. The photos show what I mean—the sides were visibly dirty. 🍳 **Breakfast Buffet** It's still excellent! The food is fabulous, and the made-to-order omelets are worth it. The only downside was the floor—it was *audibly* sticky. Not enough to ruin the experience, but it was definitely noticeable. 👥 **Staff & Overall Experience** The staff was friendly and helpful all around, and there was nothing here that would stop me from returning. I’d give our stay a **95/100**. We even had a view of another roof, but honestly, it didn’t bother us. **Final thoughts:** I’ll absolutely be back. But I’m hoping next time I’ll see a cleaner pool and a refreshed lobby. It just needs a tlc.

Update from stay 2/26/24 I have no complaints about anything in regards to the cleanliness, comfort, amenities, etc. All of these remain great. However, 4 years after the incident I mentioned in my original post, the same unwarranted charge occurred. This time it was for $8. The hotel did eventually refund the money but it took me numerous calls and more than two days to get anyone to address the problem. When I give my card over for incidentals, I am being forced to trust you. Twice now that trust has been violated. Please fix the accountability for consumables or remove them unless a guest requests them.

Original Post, 4 years ago. The breakfast was great as usual, the lady running the atrium bar was very nice and the room was comfortable. I had the buffalo wings at the bar, and they were good. Some aspects of the room could have been cleaner, but overall it was acceptable. The bed, sheets and pillows were fresh, clean and comfortable. The shower had good pressure and was adjustable. One of the standing lamps seemed to have a broken switch, but was unplugged when I checked in and I didn't need it anyway. The power was out for approximately an hour on the evening of my first stay due to an event outside the control of staff, but backup lighting assured safety, elevators were operational and I was still able to use the pool to pass the time. The pool was large enough for good laps and the water was comfortable. The jacuzzi tub was not operational due to the temporary power problem, but was still warm enough to enjoy. Staff were polite and friendly overall and my stay was pretty good. The only real issue I had was that the hotel charged me $3.50 for one of the bottles of water in the room when neither of the two were used. However, after calling the hotel, the lady I spoke with did say she would refund the erroneous charge. This refund was done. I would happily stay here again but will have the water bottles removed from my room and have this noted before my next stay. It is a hassle to have to take time out of my busy workday to recoup $3.50 that shouldn't have been charged. In truth, the time it required to right the wrong was worth more than $3.50 but it is matter of principle. I hope it was just an honest mistake, but regardless, the hotel owes customers a better way of tracking use of charged items. Customers are required to hand over their card for "incidentals", and trust the hotel. Violation of that trust should...

The room was dirty upon check-in. When I notified the front that the provided drinking glasses (that had paper covers to show they were clean) had dried, sticky substances, I was brushed off and told that I could retrieve new glasses from the bar. No service. They comped the first night to accommodate, but it really wasn't enough to make up for the fact that the fridge didn't work. I had maintenance come within the first hour of my arrival, and he turned the dial and told me to wait an hour and it would be cold. Well, we were at a convention and didn't return to the room until later that evening, at which point the food we brought for the weekend was spoiled. They allowed the convention to serve alcohol in the hallway where children were present; the staff were openly vaping on the floor. The heating/ cooling unit was in need of maintenance and made a loud noise for long durations, making it difficult to get any rest. Then, there weren't any luggage carts available for checkout. It was a convention for cosplay. Everyone had excess luggage-- which is to be expected and should have been anticipated and planned for by staff. There wasn't any kind of service to help you with your luggage. It was just a "you're out of luck, okay bye" response to a cart request.

3 years ago, we attended the same convention; the bathroom near the lobby smelled horrid. At the time, I assumed it was due to the swarm of convention participants, but no. The bathroom smelled just as bad, if not worse, this year with nowhere near the same level of patronage. There's a huge room where the voice actors and merchants are posted: it reeked of sewage so badly that we avoided the area. The only saving point was the entirely pleasant and hardworking breakfast staff and the kind men who were hard at work moving tables and chairs for the convention. They showed true grace and kindness even though they had the hardest job of the hotel. All of those people need to be making at least $30 an hour. If I ever return, it will be because of the breakfast and kitchen staff and the men who moved all of the heavy equipment without ever giving anyone a cross look even though the guests were...

I stayed here for a week and a half in November 2022 with my boyfriend in a non smoking king suite. Firstly, all of the staff throughout the hotel were fantastic our entire stay, including reception, housekeeping, breakfast service and kitchen staff, and everyone at the bar during the evening. The complimentary breakfast bar is great, there's a buffet style island with an assortment of food from yoghurts and cereals to bacon, biscuits and hashbrowns. Hot coffee and teas as well as an assortment of juices, and there is also an omelet and pancake bar where they make it to your order and there is a great selection of ingredients to include in your omelet. Absolutely loved the breakfast. In the evenings there is complementary bar service from... I think it was 5pm to 7pm, they have a set selection of spirits, beers and wines that are complimentary during that two hours, and the staff are happy to mix cocktails. A few nights of our stay we went down, had a few tricks and went over to the pool tables or the chess tables down near the bar and it was a great time. We also had a few trips down to the hot tub and the pool, the pool area was well maintained and you can get extra towels from the reception area. There is a pharmacy vending machine down in the lobby that stocks all sorts of common pharmacy goods ranging from headache or allergy medications to contraceptives. The room itself was quite good, the bathrooms felt modern and clean, and came stocked with complementary Neutrogena products which was appreciated as an international traveler. The living area was clean and the couches were very comfortable. I spent a bit of time on my laptop at the desk and the desk was solid and stable, and there were plenty of power sockets and USB ports available for use. We had a great view of norman from our bedroom, we were a few floors up and facing towards the east side of the hotel. The bed was really clean and comfortable, and we were able to get extra blankets from the reception too. This was the nicest hotel I stayed at in my entire month trip in Oklahoma and Texas and I will definitely be staying here again when I come...
