I was compelled to have my watch battery replaced at Huntington because of the signs advertising $5 for the service, which turned out to be wildly inaccurate. I was clearly not interested in any other purchases, but the salesman would not leave me alone. Then I was forced to create an account with the store and was told there was no way to opt-out. Over $25 for an awful experience? Not in this economy.
UPDATE: The owner replied to this review, sharing to the public the full details of my purchase. Which is an odd choice, given that part of my complaint about the store experience was the overly-invasive nature of the customer service approach. Don't mistake me: I have no problem admitting I was there to buy a battery for my run-of-the-mill Timex watch from Target. It was just surprising to see that brought into the store's justification for the price.
On the bright side, they deleted the reply on their own! Thanks, I do appreciate that. But then today I got a gimmicky phone call from the store, trying to peddle Valentine's jewelry. I opted out of text messages immediately, but there seems to be no opt-out of phone calls. Please. For the love of late-stage capitalism, remove me from any and all...
Read moreI went in to get my watch battery replaced as there are signs in the area “$5 watch battery replacements”. Unfortunately, It’s a tactic to get people to come into the store. And it was really a sales pitch. While someone did the battery, the other sales person started discussing jewelry sales, discounts, taking jewelry out, cleaned my wedding band, asked about my other ring that went with it. It took quite awhile for a simple battery replacement which seemed odd. But it was a way for the sales discussion to continue. Once I got my watch back, the salesperson brought out solitary diamonds to show/place against my wedding band, telling me the prices and what type of discount I could get buying today. I told them I didn’t buy my own jewelry-my spouse did this. It wasn’t an experience I wanted! I got the 2 year warranty battery replacement for my watch-cost ended up being $19-ish due to a “gasket” that needed replacing. Let’s just put it this way. I wish Walmart still had a jewelry counter to replace my simple watch batteries with ZERO hassle. I should’ve known better than to go into a jewelry store like that for a “$5 replacement”. Worse than a furniture store and...
Read moreUPDATE - After reaching out to the company they refunded my initial purchase. The GM, Lauren, was very understanding and made it right. I recommend going to the main store, in OKC, that is the Headquarters.
0/0, 0/10, 0/100. Do not support this company. I stopped in when I saw the "$5 battery replacement" sign. After paying and driving almost 20 miles north into OKC I noticed the watch did not work. Called back, Preston, my "salesman", advised me to come back in. I did, and they determined my watch did not work. They could not determine that when the put the first battery in? Before they charged me? They told me they would not refund my money "because I paid for a service - Preston". I lost almost an hour of time between waiting and the round trip back. 1 star is ONLY because of the security officer, who was *very friendly and seemed to be the only person in the store who had an ounce of customer service in...
