**Update** We've revisited 1942 on many occasions.. Each visit has been as epic as the first.. I am adding additional pics of various menu items as we encounter them.. New additions include: Ceviche, Pollo Blanco, Red Tacos, and the Top Shelf Margarita with 1800 Reposado Tequila.. Everything continues to be absolutely decadent!! **Original Review** Holy Cow!! 1942 Tacos & Tequila may have just become my wife's and my favorite Mexican fare eatery in the Norman area.. We made our first visit (of many to come) on Sunday after church after having passed by it a day or two earlier!! Everything (service, food, menu offerings, atmosphere, etc) was absolutely fantastic!! My wife sampled the lunch portion chicken fajitas, and I had the street tacos (2x pastor and 2x carne asada).. We also ordered queso blanco with our chips!! Everything came out to the table relatively quickly and was as fresh as it could have been!! The fajita chicken was wonderfully seasoned, and the grilled vegetables were cooked perfectly.. My street tacos were deelish, the pastor had small bits of pineapple, and the accompanying salsa was a wonderful addition.. Our rice and charro beans were among the best we've experienced at any Mexican fare eatery, so those were delightful, too.. Even the chips and salsa were on point!! We're looking forward to returning and sampling the vast margarita offerings on future visits!! 10 out of 10 recommend, and we'll be back very, very soon!!

Walked in and noticed the place was nicely decorated and clean. Was seated at a booth and ordered Pollo Blanco. Complementary chips and two types of salsa were delivered to my table. My order arrived in short time and the plate was hot. On this plate came with chicken breast topped with white cheese sauce and spices, a small bowl of beans in soup, and Spanish rice. Everything was cooked nicely and tasted great. Service was very good as the waiter was attentive and helpful. For dessert I tried the Tres leches cake, this came with strawberries and whipped cream. The dessert was wonderful and a great way to end my dining experience here.

1942 is a must try for anyone who enjoys Mexican food. There menu is full of interesting options that most places do not have. We had the street tacos and carne asada. The street tacos were asada and pastor. I have to say that both were absolutely incredible. Flavor and texture was perfect. The asada steak was the best I've ever had. I still am trying to figure out how they did! It was fork tender! They also an incredible selection of margaritas and cocktails. I can not wait to visit again! Shout out to Fransisco! He's the GM and made us feel like valued customers.

Will definitely be a regular here now! The service was fast and attentive, also a really great atmosphere with fun mexican music. The food is reasonably priced and so good. I had the steak blanco which was very tender. My boyfriend had the street tacos. Also got the queso which was great, a small is fairly big we ended up taking some home. We felt like it was a perfect mix of comfort mexican food smothered in queso if that’s your thing & also lots of traditional food done well. Our waiter went out of his way to serve us. That along with the food really prompted us to leave a...
