Ivanhoe Motel — Hotel in North Wildwood

the older lady is extremely disrespectful. She talks to you like you are not even her guest. I don’t disrespect my elders & I was very polite to the younger lady who works there from the second I checked in. I don’t know if they have a bad weekend before I checked in but I felt nothing but negative vibes from the second I walked in the office. The blonde cleaning lady was extremely nice & the man who cleaned the trash. Other than that, we had to take our own trash out of the room & place our dirty towels outside & didn’t receive clean ones until 12 pm each day & they also don’t give you wash cloths, i asked the nice lady for some. There’s cameras everywhere so you have no privacy. People can run their business however they want, thats their right but before taking someone’s money for the week they should tell you they have strict rules. & if music is too loud during pool hours or if adults are ruining another family’s vacation, all the older lady has to do is ask her guests to turn it down & be more mindful instead of getting in your face demanding & giving orders with an attitude. She acts too much like a principal instead of a motel owner in WILDWOOD. Where adults without children are staying at the same hotel. The lady also called us “white trash” & banned us from returning. I would never give them a penny anyways so that’s okay. I was raised right, i am far from white trash. & I’m not sure what my race as to do with anything, I wonder what they call black or Spanish people who stay there. My air conditioner had dust on it from probably years ago, my bathroom sink was clogged, I fixed it myself because i didn’t want to go in the office. My toilet seat fell off the first day, i also fixed that myself. The pool was dirty & a milky color. You can tell the pool had mold around the edges that they tried to cover. I never write reviews & I would never want to hurt someone’s business but the way that older lady talked to us & the fact we got called “white trash” is completely unacceptable when we spent thousands of dollars to live in dirt & mold for a week. There’s also bugs in every room so before the owner comments back to me asking why i didn’t ask to switch rooms, every room I went into was just as dirty & had bugs too. If I could leave NEGATIVE -5 stars I would because this place is absolutely terrible. Please for the sake of all things good in life spend your money and time somewhere else. My grandmother, my mother, and myself were calling around for hotels for the holiday weekend. When we called for information we got a rate and booked at that same time. When we arrived we were then told we were on the 3rd floor of what looked like a 2 floor building. She then proceeded to tell us if we wanted a 1st floor room it would be almost double the price we already paid. Then we were told to come back at 2:30pm and our room would be ready. When we came back to receive our room at 4:10pm we were shown our room. This room was in a next door building that looked like a house/condo. We all had walked up these steep vertical stair to enter a room that was NOT CLEAN !!! When we called to tell them about the unclean room they told us there would send someone up. About 10 minutes later we called again to ask for a refund because of the amount of time it would take to get the room cleaned. The woman we spoke to then told us to "just stay put","you paid a good price", and that no we couldn't have a refund. We then had to wait in total 20 minutes for a lovely maid to fix our room. She was the only pleasant part of experience. We sat in the room while she cleaned and noticed that they do not give you new clean blankets only sheets. Along with the shower being no wider than 2ft at most, it was nearly impossible for my mother or grandmother to take a shower. While showering BE VERY CAREFUL because out of no where the water became scolding hot !!! Lastly when I went to return the key, the woman did not mention refunding the $10 "key deposit" so make sure to remember if you chose to stay at this dreadful establishment!! I wish I had the option of no star. I already knew this place was overpriced, management was rude an unaccommodating but I tried a second time for location. The first time I left an extremely expensive and well known bathing suite in the room. When I realized after check out and called no one had seen it, even though I knew it’s exact location. Ok. When I returned this time I asked again right before check out, the person at the desk immediately looked annoyed and asked me didn’t you call? Yes I did. You could see a visible change in their demeanor. At the time I just wanted to see if it was found after my call. Now I think they absolutely knew where it was. Another reason I chose this hotel and their prices was the maid service. It was good for a family without a lot of time to deal with a cheaper place that needs you to do more for them at check out to turn the room. I am a very clean woman I did every dish, wiped all surfaces left them the beds and the floor to vacuum and was asked not to return because I left the room a mess? Nice try. Or you believed I was considering taking the missing suit issue further? These people charge hotel prices and expect you to detail your own room at check out so they can hurry up and move their partying family and friends into the room as quickly as possible.
