We took our motor home with an almost new Cummins generator in for warranty repair. We had an appointment for 4/23/19 (we waited for a week and a half for this appointment). We dropped it off the night before and actually went through the functions of the coach with the service associate. Every thing worked on ac power, the generator wouldn’t run (only had 44 hours on it). Waited all week and finally called them on 4/26 and they said it was done and we could pick it up. My husband was checking everything before we drove off the lot and found none of the interior lighting working in the coach. We asked to speak to someone and they sent the Union tech out (we had to wait till he finished his lunch) he immediately said “sorry about your luck, not my problem” he started up generator and turned the microwave oven on and said “see you have power from the generator “. Point here is not only does half of my electrical not work but you are running an empty microwave to demonstrate generator is throwing power. Since then we have been lied to, given the run around by every employee there including the branch manager, the service manager, and everyone in between. It is without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever had!!!!!! Of course I will be picking up my broken motor home today. Not only does half the electrical not work, I am sure they have burned up the microwave too! I don’t recommend this place, if you have a Cummins generator that needs repaired, take it somewhere else! If I could give it no stars, I...
Read moreHad my ECM replaced by Rush Truck Center and the programing was messed up. I dealt with Nathan there at Cummins, the shop supervisor during the day. That was all it took. He asked me to come down there and he took good care of me as soon as I arrived. Completely reprogrammed my ECM and had me back rolling in no time. There was one slight issue which he stayed past time to fix. We put in the wrong gear ratio with the first reprogram, and my speedometer was reading 75 when I was only going 55. Took it back, and that's when he stayed extra time to fix my issue but once again once he replaced the new parameters for the gear ratio everything was good. I really appreciate all his help and knowledge of my engine ECM as he explained everything to me as he was doing it so I could understand it. Nathan is the best, and I strongly urge and recommend you speak with him regarding anything to do with programming your ECM so it works properly. Thank you very much Nathan for all your help. I'll be a Cummins engine man for as long as...
Read moreCalled in and they told me they are backed up 5 weeks.
What's the point of building an engine when it takes 5 weeks just for them to see and diagnose your truck.
I gotten service before and it wasn't too bad.
Cummins you are in the service industry. Your service is only as good as how quickly you can diagnose and repair the problem.
The repair cost are not cheap. So please not double screw the truck driver by having a high labor cost and long wait times.
Its a lot easier for a truck to stomach a "dealer" repair bill than to have long wait times.
Perhaps charge more and hire more techs or better yet require the mechanics to have less smoke breaks
Not all your customers are mega carriers who can afford to have their truck sit for more than five weeks.
I'm one of many local Columbus ohio owner operators who can't afford to have their truck sit for 5 weeks just to...
