Been driving/walking/skating/biking/motorcycling/jogging past these icons for over 50 years. I bring visitors down along the Strand. They can't believe that we can actually drive so close to the sand, and that people can rent a place, right on the sand, too.

I see the cost to rent these has remained quite reasonable, compared to the high rises 2 blocks inland. Actually, these are about half the cost, and you get so much more here. I remember my dad telling me, back in the mid/late 1960's about how these little red houses reminded him of those red hotels in a Monopoly game. He also told me these were here when his family would camp in a "tent city" by the pier, back in the mid 1930's. They would spend their whole Summer here.
