I don’t know where to start with this gem of a restaurant. The staff is beyond amazing. I walked in and was immediately welcomed and told to sit wherever I please. There were tons of seating options including booths, tables, and the bar. The waitresses and hostess were over accommodating. Service was speedy and all the staff had a friendship like nothing else. There was jokes flying and everyone was communicating about what was going on with each of the tables. Who needed water, who was waiting for more people all the waitresses were in the know so they could all attend to whatever need arises.
While the cafe gives off the typical beachy cafe feel it also has a balanced relationship with technology. The cash register is new, one of the ones that looks like an iPad and all the waitresses have little tablets that they use to take your order but it’s obvious that these are just handy tools to enhance the dining experience and not at all to detract from it. There’s a giant chalk board above the bar that has words of wisdom, the website (that’s very user friendly), the social media outlets (the Instagram has some mouth watering pictures), and a special discount. If you start following them on social media then you receive a free soda.
I ordered the Western Omelette with the home fries and coffee cake. The coffee cake was a bit smaller then I expected but the quantity of potatoes and omelette completely made up for. The home fries had the perfect balance of flavor. No salt or ketchup was needed as they were perfect as prepared. The omelette had a decent amount of cheese that was baked on it. It was so much so that it made the omelette a little dry but one you spread the sour cream that’s provided, it’s delish.
The only downside was the parking. While a decent modest parking lot when there’s people wangling through, multiple cars leaving and coming it gets a...
Read moreBeen coming here for awhile, but stopped trying to eat out as much since the world has become so expensive to breathe in. My mom's in town so we decided to bring her here for breakfast and man has things changed in just a few months. Our waitress was nice and somewhat attentive there's also a gentleman that made sure he was making rounds, but most of the staff was piled at the counter top engrossed in conversation while my family and I looked around wondering if we could get our correct drinks. That's not the biggest disappointment though people have lives outside of their jobs I get it, the food has drastically changed and not for the better. The sausage used to be either juicy links or a decent patty now it comes to you looking like the questionable gray green cafeteria meatloaf you'd get at public schools. The food had no taste like eggs and home frys can come no spices, but they still taste like egg and potato.....this was a odd nothing taste that was runny mush in your mouth. If food getting more expensive by the second wasn't bad enough now we have to worry if the food being served to us is even that at all. This place used to be 1 of the few remaining places that you can go to and really feel the pride of oceanside in their food, but clearly they are now like the hundreds of other places that are cutting corners and no longer care what they serve which is mind boggling because they have loyal patriots and have always been pretty busy, but I don't know how much longer...
Read moreDon't know what happened to this place but a year ago it was halfway decent. Been there three times since and every time the food has been horrible and the service is not very good. I had a Philly cheese steak today, and there was no cheese in it. And it was very dry and the pieces of meat with thick slabs instead of cut up small pieces. Dry meat no cheese or a little bit of cheese two or three pieces of green pepper and a five pieces of onion that was it. That's not a Philly cheesesteak not even close. The previous visit I got a burger with fries. Fries with cold and burger was not much warmer. Burger was dry as well with little bit of lettuce and other toppings. Definitely cheaping it. This time they raised their price another $2 from just 3 months ago when they raised it a dollar. Now they want $17 for a burger and if you ask for sweet potato fries they charge you an extra dollar. But when the fries get to the table they're about quarter the size of a regular fry order. So what am I paying for extra. I think this is the last time I will be going there. Overpriced, food taste horrible, service is very slow and just not very polite. I do not recommend this place at all anymore. Such a shame because it was a nice place. There were three of us and the bill came out too $70. Plus tip. for this place, that is way way too much. The Philly cheesesteak was so nasty that I ate a quarter of it and left it. It was disgusting and it told...
