We thought we'd try this place for breakfast. We arrived around 8am on the weekend. It wasn't busy when we came in, but it started to fill in around 8:30am. Nice decor and nice atmosphere. Unsure if they just opened, but it seemed like they were short-handed. No one approached us, so we decided to seat ourselves. It looks like there were a few people waiting at the tables to be given menus also. I thought their breakfast special (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage), but thought it was a little steep $17.95 for just that. I thought I'd try something different and get the egg burrito. For $16.95, it was a pretty big burrito that I was able to share with someone. I would probably get something else next time because my burrito mainly had potatoes. It seemed like I only had 2 small sausages total that was chopped up into it. If it didn't have the sauce on top, I felt the burrito lacked flavor. Overall, it was OK for me. If we happen to go here again, I'll try something different.

I met my good friends from Oceanside High School at the Harbor House Cafe for breakfast early in the morning. It was my first time eating at this really comfortable and cute restaurant. I ordered the CA House Omelet with sliced Avocados and Home Fried Potato’s, one Coffee Cake with the streusel topping and decaffeinated Coffee. It took about 20 minutes for the waitress to bring my food to my table because it was very busy that day. The waitress was very friendly and attentive she stopped by our table 3 times to ask if I needed a refill on my decaf coffee. I said yes I do. She refilled my coffee cup . I ate the CA House Omelette it was very delicious and the sliced avocados were ripe and soft. The Coffee Cake was moist and the Streusel topping was delicious. The decaf. Coffee warmed me up on a cold morning. I received excellent customer service and really delicious food. I highly recommend this Harbor House Cafe Restaurant.

My wife loves this place. Diner style food, family owned and been there forever. They have a great specials of the day list on the chalk board when you enter. This Sunday morning, they were packed with customers Check out their menu, but it is the specials that rock. I had the surf and turf eggs Benedict. Had short rib meat and lobster pieces replacing the usual ham. Was excellent. Coffee is good and they do a good job keeping it topped up. Lots of children there too. From families to dining alone, they got you covered. As a side note, this place is next to the Marine base Camp Pendleton. There were lots of marines and their families eating there. Next to us were 3 very young marines. Watching them quietly eat together really touched us. So we anonymously paid their check before we left. We wanted them to know they had our respect.

I don’t know where to start with this gem of a restaurant. The staff is beyond amazing. I walked in and was immediately welcomed and told to sit wherever I please. There were tons of seating options including booths, tables, and the bar. The waitresses and hostess were over accommodating. Service was speedy and all the staff had a friendship like nothing else. There was jokes flying and everyone was communicating about what was going on with each of the tables. Who needed water, who was waiting for more people all the waitresses were in the know so they could all attend to whatever need arises.

While the cafe gives off the typical beachy cafe feel it also has a balanced relationship with technology. The cash register is new, one of the ones that looks like an iPad and all the waitresses have little tablets that they use to take your order but it’s obvious that these are just handy tools to enhance the dining experience and not at all to detract from it. There’s a giant chalk board above the bar that has words of wisdom, the website (that’s very user friendly), the social media outlets (the Instagram has some mouth watering pictures), and a special discount. If you start following them on social media then you receive a free soda.

I ordered the Western Omelette with the home fries and coffee cake. The coffee cake was a bit smaller then I expected but the quantity of potatoes and omelette completely made up for. The home fries had the perfect balance of flavor. No salt or ketchup was needed as they were perfect as prepared. The omelette had a decent amount of cheese that was baked on it. It was so much so that it made the omelette a little dry but one you spread the sour cream that’s provided, it’s delish.

The only downside was the parking. While a decent modest parking lot when there’s people wangling through, multiple cars leaving and coming it gets a...

Been coming here for awhile, but stopped trying to eat out as much since the world has become so expensive to breathe in. My mom's in town so we decided to bring her here for breakfast and man has things changed in just a few months. Our waitress was nice and somewhat attentive there's also a gentleman that made sure he was making rounds, but most of the staff was piled at the counter top engrossed in conversation while my family and I looked around wondering if we could get our correct drinks. That's not the biggest disappointment though people have lives outside of their jobs I get it, the food has drastically changed and not for the better. The sausage used to be either juicy links or a decent patty now it comes to you looking like the questionable gray green cafeteria meatloaf you'd get at public schools. The food had no taste like eggs and home frys can come no spices, but they still taste like egg and potato.....this was a odd nothing taste that was runny mush in your mouth. If food getting more expensive by the second wasn't bad enough now we have to worry if the food being served to us is even that at all. This place used to be 1 of the few remaining places that you can go to and really feel the pride of oceanside in their food, but clearly they are now like the hundreds of other places that are cutting corners and no longer care what they serve which is mind boggling because they have loyal patriots and have always been pretty busy, but I don't know how much longer...

Don't know what happened to this place but a year ago it was halfway decent. Been there three times since and every time the food has been horrible and the service is not very good. I had a Philly cheese steak today, and there was no cheese in it. And it was very dry and the pieces of meat with thick slabs instead of cut up small pieces. Dry meat no cheese or a little bit of cheese two or three pieces of green pepper and a five pieces of onion that was it. That's not a Philly cheesesteak not even close. The previous visit I got a burger with fries. Fries with cold and burger was not much warmer. Burger was dry as well with little bit of lettuce and other toppings. Definitely cheaping it. This time they raised their price another $2 from just 3 months ago when they raised it a dollar. Now they want $17 for a burger and if you ask for sweet potato fries they charge you an extra dollar. But when the fries get to the table they're about quarter the size of a regular fry order. So what am I paying for extra. I think this is the last time I will be going there. Overpriced, food taste horrible, service is very slow and just not very polite. I do not recommend this place at all anymore. Such a shame because it was a nice place. There were three of us and the bill came out too $70. Plus tip. for this place, that is way way too much. The Philly cheesesteak was so nasty that I ate a quarter of it and left it. It was disgusting and it told...
