It was quiet with ample parking. Check-in and out was an easy process, though finding someone at the desk was not easy. Plenty of shampoo, lotion, and soap were provided. (One shampoo was open and slightly used). Close to resteraunts. Water pressure in the shower was decent. but... The property and the room furnishings are very outdated. There was a step up into the unit when you enter the room, which was difficult for my disabled adult son. I didn't feel that the door was very secure with just a small lock. A bar preventing the glass slider from opening would have been helpful. The filter in the AC unit was clogged and filthy. I had to clean it myself in the shower. The living room lamp and telephone were just plopped on the coffee table, obscuring the view of the TV. The TV was tiny, and the cabinet doors kept swinging shut and wouldn't stay open to watch it. The curtain rods were repaired and secured with actual bandaids. The "do not disturb" signs have no way to attach to the door. A loop of velcro might be a solution for this. The "kitchenette" was old and lacking. A microwave was just sitting in the middle of an old kitchen table with stained kitchen chairs. The 2 stove top burners were rusting. The little refrigerator needs defrosting. There was minimal (mismatched) dishware, not enough for family use. There was a spatula, tongs, a few small pots, 1 fork, 1 butter knife, 2 tablespoons, and a few teaspoons. The silverware was in a worn-out/broken wicker silverware organizer in the drawer. The bathroom was tiny. If you lean too far over when sitting on top of the toilet, you WILL hit your head on the sink. The tub was super shallow. The light and exhaust fan were filthy and full of dust. The bathroom door was warped and not easy to close. The 2 bedrooms were tiny, mattresses were old and uncomfortable, and window blinds were broken and dusty. There is no TV in the bedrooms. The outdoor amenities were just okay. Nothing special. Definitely no ocean view or anything, but you can drive a few minutes to the beach. At 150+ per night, I expected better for a 2 bedroom suite. The quality was a big disappointment that put a damper on what was supposed to be a special mother & son birthday trip.

We always stayed here in the past with our children. Very clean yard kept up pool always crystal clear with umbrellas to enjoy sitting at the pool. There use to be a dimple continental breakfast and kitchen that had utensils if you wanted to use the grill. NOT ANYMORE!!!! Pool was lean but not sparkling like before. No umbrellas. Weeds everywhere. Nothing is kept up. I will say the beds were comfortable. But everything like lampshades were disgusting. The room had an awful odor. I bought Air freshener and window open during the day. Air conditioner could go on and off all night. Nothing worked consistently. Another issue Mosquitoes. Even during the day. They need to spray the property. I wanted to say something when we left but the office was closed. Never again will we stay here or recommend. The flashing lights at the office very tacky.

Room seem clean nice flat screen TV but it was actually very comfortable but wish they had a couple more pillows, beds weren’t to bad, some springs but not bad sleep. Decore is out of date but with a lot of rooms I can see why I take a long time to update all of them. Maintenance staff is very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable of the property in the Internet connection definitely recommend anybody on a budget to stay here small room but worth the stay. One thing I wish is even though if you’re on the second and first floor and even though it might be quiet as to why I’m here in October, I think they should have better locks on the door. But for an old-school hotel I can give it 3 stars. But sure is worth a four or five in the summer with full staff.

Absolutely disgusting, lack of pride, care and overall attention to the entire property. What greets you are nasty black and brown stained entry ways to each room, each entry in the entire place has this black nasty dirt caked into the entry way. They once had rows of green shrubs instead replaced by dirt with cigarette butts on the ground. SIGNS AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE that says no smoking within 25 feet of building, right under it what appeared to be a long term resident of a room, chain smoking cigarettes and weed and blasting music. The rooms are terrible, the first one we got was full of cob webs, rust, random splatters of god knows what on the walls, the AC was from the 90's. Floors peeling off, extremely dark in the rooms, the lamp shades covered in nasty yellow stains and caked with dirt and grime. one towel for 4 guests. I kindly approached the front desk and explained that things are falling apart, the room was dirty and not in great shape, and that we need some extra towels to accommodate 4 people. The front desk attendant radioed the staff and told them to bring the towels, gave me a key and told me to go there and take a look and see if that would be better. I went back to my room, and let the rest of my party know whats going on. We noticed the cleaning lady with towels just driving around aimlessly and then did a u-turn right in front of our room and drove away. I went to the other room and while it had a newer AC the general dirt and horrible condition of the room was unacceptable. The room had linoleum floors that are peeling off and they nailed and screwed them in with what ever thing they could find, sharp metal ends of the screws are sticking out ready to catch your leg if your not careful. We have a small child with us that is constantly running or crawling. The floors are not safe at all. the room had a full set of towels. I decided to take them since I had no idea if the cleaning lady would come back. I went back to the front desk to inform them that the condition was unacceptable, and while the ac is newer the other faults were worse then what we already had. His other suggestion was upstairs, which was also unacceptable, as my elderly mother could not walk up nor could my child navigate the stairs safely. I also informed the front desk attended that I took the towels that we were missing from the room he had me check and to please replace them. He seemed visibly irritated and started demanding to know how many towels in total I have, and then tried to do some towel mathematics with me counting how many guests we have in total and how many towels we now have. Absolutely bizarre! Not how you treat guests. I went back to my room, told everyone the other rooms unfortunately wont work. We ordered food, and while eating with the ac going in the dim room, our neighbor from two doors down starts ripping his pipe and flooding our room with weed smoke and cigarettes. I turned off the ac and opened the windows in the back to try and get some air in. We decided we would end our vacation short and checked out early the next morning. I told the new front desk person my terrible experience and he was visibly embarrassed but not surprised. He immediately apologized, and offered to refund the night we would not be staying for. I feel horrible this nice guy has to put up with this type of ownership and management. He was the only one that seemed to be genuinely sorry for all the...

Awful STAY AWAY!I wish I could give zero stars. Ive stayed at plenty of discounted and dated motels that I would return to, but this is by far the worst. At check in the clerk had her young children distracting her. Upon opening the door the smell of mold and floral spray could knock you over. The carpet was moist and filthy. When I asked if we could switch rooms due to allergies to one without carpet she said we could but for only one night, we would have to move back for our 2nd night. The beds were flimsy and linens worn and gray. We paid for 3 adult guests and only 1 towel in the room, we went to the office and they said they don't have any more you'll have to get them tomorrow. the bathroom door doesn't close properly and doesn't clear the toilet. The toilet had a constant leak, black mold on the bathroom wall. ,Glad I had cleaner in my car, as we had to clean the shower and bathroom floors before use. Their kinda white towel was brown once we wiped down the floor. and the shower stall had no floor support. The wall mounted sink almost fell on us and the electrical outlets are only 2 prong that nothing would stay plugged into. Not grounded. 1 nasty rusted lamp to light the entire room and the tv didn't work. the air conditioner was moldy and the only heat source was an old heat coil that looked like a stove burner in the ceiling that stayed on after turning off the switch, and smelled of ectrical. There was an outdated phone that was broken and not able to be plugged in. There are no chairs in the room. The outside door had a large gap on the bottom and the rusted chain lock would stick, so you couldn't secure the door to your room. Questionable activity all hours of the night as cars coming and going and nearby room doors were slammed regularly. The amount of cigarette butts outside the room was appalling. I'm pretty sure there were left behind from the residents living there On a positive note we love Wells! But this place is unsafe and should...
