Wells Moody Motel — Hotel in Wells

This place was cute, clean and affordable! Staff was very friendly, I think 3 generations are running the place. I was in the "dog room", 2 double beds with tile floors, and it was a little cramped on space, so I wouldn't recommend it for a family. (For the dog and I, it was perfect!) If you're a coffee lover, bring your own pot or buy from the coffee shops around the area! The linens were absolutely white and fresh. The bed was a fluffy cloud, w 3 different pillows of varietal firmness!

For a motel, there were very cool considerations, like 2 bottles of water in the fridge and a bath mat. There's chairs everywhere outside, a place to potty the dog, and located a short walk to the beach and all the restaurants (omg, eat at Mike's for fried seafood!). Totally affordable and convenient to both Ogunquit & Kennebunk/port. I didn't use the pool, because it was still cool. The room had an AC, heater and dehumidifier, which was awesome, because it kept the room warm and dry. While it was a basement room, there were two windows and very good shades.

I have been taking my Mother to Maine for the past 15 years at least 4 times a year. We always stayed at the Majestic but our last stay was so bad we left early and decided to never go back. I searched the web for a place that is affordable with a pool that dose not have a minimum stay and most importantly clean.

We found it in the Wells Moody Motel. The place was spotless and the pool was super clean. The staff went above and beyond with showing us different rooms so we know what to book for our next stay. Being a long time visitor of Maine we have tried most of the restaurants so I ask the staff if they could give us something off the beaten path and they did and what a meal we had.

The beds were comfy again the room was extra clean. Plenty of towels a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator.

The only thing I can even try to complain about and really is no big deal is in the room we were in the place you hand clothing on was blocked by a dresser and unusable, and there was no clock in the room. Again both are not big deals.

I recently spent a day in Portsmouth, NH and was looking for a hotel to stay overnight as I had a 3 hour drive back home. I wasn't trying to drive 6 hours in one day! I was looking for a nice place that wasn't incredibly expensive. I came across many with bad reviews, but when I came across Moody Wells and all of the wonderful reviews, I knew I found my place. I called ahead of time because I had a few questions, and the staff was nothing short of helpful and accommodating. I thought I was going to have to check in late/check out early and they were willing to work with me. I made it just before their office closed and they were super nice and welcoming! I stayed in a ground level room that was comfortable. My only complaint was that it was very easy to hear the neighbors outside(I think one was drunk), but I had turned the AC on and it drowned them out. Checking out the next morning was easy and I was once again impressed with the staff's friendliness and overall concern of how my stay was. If I come back to Wells, I will definitely stay...
