We needed a place for our family of eight to get a few hours of sleep before continuing our journey eastward. We got of the freeway at 3 am and first tried the Motel 6 across the street. But upon enter ing our room there and watching several large roaches (or beetles?) scatter, in addition to a nasty odor, we cut out of there and headed across the street to this place. This motel was barely better. There were large roach like beetles outside, which the desk clerk said were beetles from the nearby fields, but thankfully none in our rooms (which were upstairs). One of our rooms smelled fine but the other had a weird, medicine like smell that never went away. Both rooms had dingy covers with holes in them. But the sheets seemed to be clean so we stripped the covers off and just slept with the sheets. The AC kept the room cool. The showers had very little water pressure and we did not bathe our kids because the baths had old jacuzzi jets full of mold and mildew. The room seemed clean enough, but upon final inspection to make sure we weren't leaving anything behind, I saw used q-tips, etc on the floor behind the tables and night stand (kinda glad I hadn't seen those before trying to go to sleep). Fortunately we didn't wake up with bug bites or anything like that, but I wouldn't stay here again. However, the clerk at the desk did say they are starting a remodel of the property, so maybe in time. Also, the clerk was super, super nice. He checked us in at 3 am, gave us a late checkout for the next day, and a discount on the room (which was still overpriced in my opinion but it was last minute). Cannot comment on the breakfast as we were too tired to get up in time to eat. Hopefully this place will be a lot nicer after...
Read moreIt's just after 6:00 a.m. as I'm writing this review because I have not slept tonight at all. This bed is the most uncomfortable bed I've ever had the displeasure of attempting to sleep on. I paid $125 for this room specifically because it had a Jacuzzi tub upon entering the room I like the layout but notice several things were damaged and just a lack of general upkeep. There were two black leather chairs that were super uncomfortable to sit on The AC had trouble keeping the room cool there is a computer desk and computer chair with considerable damage The floor has some damage in various places and there were dead bugs scattered throughout the room and as another reviewer stated the jacuzzi tub would not drain at first. I didn't plan on being a plumber but after some investigation and a little fiddling I managed to pull out several things from the Jacuzzi drain including but not limited to hair toilet paper broken jewelry a rock a bottle cap and numerous other pieces of debris. So I did managed to make it drain at a faster rate but it will still need someone to look at it in the future. I will let the front desk know if my findings upon checkout and leave let it go from there. Overall for $100.00 plus dollars I'm disappointed in what I got...
Read moreI had made a reservation online for this motel earlier in the afternoon before I planned to spend the night. I got a confirmation e-mail with a reservation number so I assumed everything was set up. However when I arrived at the motel and went to the desk I was told they had no reservation for me even this was three hours after I had received the confirmation e-mail. The woman behind the desk told me I would have to call reservations and have them fax the information to her. When I asked why she couldn't look up the reservation on her computer or call the reservation office herself she told me that wasn't her problem. No amount of discussion was going to make this woman treat me as a valued customer so I had to go find another place to spend the night. I had stayed at this property before with no problems and at a number of other America's Best Value Inns around the country as well with no problems at all. The experience I had here indicated to me that this property was not worth any future business from me and it is possible that I may feel the same about the entire motel chain, depending on how this situation will...
