We stayed at this location because Garcia over maintenance referred us. I wasn't feeling the location. He stated the facts, how safe & convenient it is to get to the highways, how clean it is, and the breakfast bar has real cooked food unlike our go2 Hilton Suite Home2. I ❤ Home2, well the Manager and most of the staff that deal with the General Public daily at the South Meridian Airport location.
Here is my impression of Residence Inn👏🏽 💖
The rooms are large and spacious with a whole refrigerator, stove top/bottom oven, microwave, toaster, sink, dishwasher, and lots of cabinets space🤗. The living rooms each has a L sofa & the larger side let's out into a full size bed with the shorter side as an extra sleeping area, there is a bar table, office desk and flat screen television that has the up-2-date hookups for your movie hard-drives for more entertainment while away from home. There is carpet throughout other than the kitchen and bathroom. Get this- there is a real bath tub. A plus for custom with small children not liking the 🚿 , just yet.. The beds are very nice with super warm down blanket that were very clean and fresh. Everyone knows that I ✔ the bedding b4 we unload & get settled in. Yes, we know that Hotel don't give each visitor their bedding when they leave, but the bedding should be clean, fresh and crisp without leftover hair's. Breakfast bar, had fresh cooked scramble eggs, boild 🥚, oatmeal, 🥓, 🍩🫖☕🍵🍞🥯🥞. There was plenty to select from. The location is near to lots of choices to 🍽 dine. Ihop across the street with 🍔 🤴🏽 next to it, OnCue Super large & clean ⛽ Station that offers so much. Like, large variety of different coffees and creamers, cooked food, fruits in cups, lots of chips and candies to select from, charging cable, little throws and more. If you like you own home cooked meals 🍳, the rooms have pot, pan, cooking utensils etc. So, head on over to Walmart which is maybe two miles or less from the hotel and stock up for the week.
THE DOWNSIDE AS WITH THE MAJORITY OF THESE HOTEL - (⊙.⊙(◉◉)⊙.⊙) HOUSEKEEPING not Speaking English in America. It is so FRUSTRATING (︺︹︺) PLUS INCONVENIENT WHEN WE ASK A QUESTION ¯( ͡ ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯ "Call HOUSEKEEPING," OH🙄! But, Aren't you housekeeping? (✿ ͡ ₒ ͡°)
Nope, I'm not prejudice, you can probably guess my last name being a Mixican myself. I do well \ (•◡•) /with All Nationality, but we have to be able to communicate or it's Houston We Have A Problem🙄... Failure to communicate😷🤐
Hotel General Manager, please hire any race that speaks and understand English that works hard. Give the girls an incentive they don't get a raise unless they learn to speak English. Ask the company to offer night school for speaking English with a discount. I didn't mind using my phone app to translate, but we as customers shouldn't have to, unless we'rein another country. Yes, the ladies were still very kind because my Spanish speaking was slow, the words weren't coming to my mind quickly...
Read moreI came to OKC for a 2-month long government training in the winter, and stayed here for the entire duration.
I appreciate this Residence Inn's breakfast options during COVID- grab-and-go muffins (chocolate, banana nut, blueberry), yogurts, cereal, bagels (jam and butter packets provided), and coffee, tea, milk, hot chocolate packets, and both apple and orange juice. There's also oranges and/or apples in a bowl.
As for accommodations, note that the water pressure in these showers, but especially the SINKS are LOW. They use flow restrictors to forcibly limit the amount of water coming out of the bathroom sinks, which is pretty lame, but still usable. My male colleague complained that it makes shaving especially difficult since you need the water pressure to wash away the hairs from the razor blades.
The elevators always smelled a bit funky while we were there, but it wasn't enough to make-or-break the entire hotel experience.
If you stay on the North side of the hotel (turning left as you exit the elevators) especially, note that housekeeping's laundry every day will cause the entire building to rumble straight up to the 5th floor. It's no cause for concern, but is a daily occurrence that you may not be otherwise prepared for. Additionally, the heater (at least in my room) has an irregular buzz-hum that could keep a light sleeper awake for a bit.
I wasn't a fan of the Paul Mitchell shampoo/conditioner they're currently using, but the modern layout and clean housekeeping they keep up are both great- no complaints there!
Note that if you stay here on a long-term government rate it currently only applies to a studio room, which can make sleeping difficult if you brought family members with you (any lighted activity they do in the living area is visible from your bed). We also weren't able to negotiate easy use of the conference rooms on a regular basis, so many study groups ended up working in the open lobby, or would drive over to other members' apartments, instead.
Gym appears nice and clean! I didn't experience any significant issues during treadmill sessions.
You can get change in quarters for the laundry ($2 per wash, $2 per dry) at...
Read moreThese people are true pieces of work. I paid for one night through Expedia and rebooked the same room an hour before check out the next day. My card was approved and I was reissued two new keys. At 7 am the front desk clerk calls me and tells me my payment never finalized. I explained that it has been taken out of my account and she explained that the charge may show pending but was never actually taken out. However, my account still shows pending from the night before yet there was no issue and I was able to continue my stay. Annnd!!! All of my transactions from Friday till today are pending! Hell thats normal, but still it drafted out of my account. This woman Charlene knocks on my room door and when I didnt get there fast enough proceeded to enter, stating that they said they were gonna write her up and that they found out my card wasnt accepted or charged after all. I told her they should write her up for being disruptive and entering at her own leisure and for the way she handled the situation. Then! They send security (officer) Langley to tell me I have an hr to leave and hes like well call your bank first sometimes they have a limit. If there was a limit I wouldn't have gotten an approved transaction with two new key cards. Im absolutely pissed because I have five children at home and this was supposed to be my mother's day/father's day weekend to quietly work on homework and take bubble baths. I will be calling corporate Monday morning because I paid a total of $340 to stay two complete days here and am having to leave hours before check out. The night before that Tristan helped me check in and she was having some difficulties doing so, there system has some issue with 3rd party payments. However, she was very pleasant...
