DEAD slow internet. Ironically, they have a message that states it will be slowed if excessive usage. I inquired about what excessive usage meant. The Manger "Lee" didn't know. I asked if they company they hired told them. He looked it up and said it was 60 mb per hour. Not sure this is true. I had better internet service before I told him I could get all my computers through one private device and it worked fine. After our chat, my internet went even slower......seems impossible ONLY deleting messages before speaking to him could have hit the 60 mb ph limit. However, if it did, well then they need to spend more $ for service as the other parks do. He told me the excessive usage limit was there to prevent people from downloading movies. He said it wasn't fair to the other customers. As the next 4-5 customers coming in stated they would not need a code, I can't see this being a problem. I asked if they had a massive problem with people downloading movies. He said no. (Can't see how they could, it barely uploads a page in a minute). So, they are fixing a rare (read, impossible) problem by sledge hammering the machine.
BTW, these codes are individual so they can see whatever YOU are doing online and possibly steal your passwords. Since they take a HARD stance on sharing or blocking this info, I would be wary of using any device here.
Had to wait 2 long times for the Manager to show up. Looks like he was the only one here that day.
The spa is indeed green. The pool is cloudy.
The showers looked ok.
There is no view, you can hear the freeway, and not shaded. No way to drive out out unless you go against the pull throughs.
Positives: The bison were cool....and after I came down with the flu they let us stay another night. Yea! I got to pay for an extra night here. The woman at the desk was polite and a better face for the place. We had a Class A 32 ft towing a minivan. Sites are large enough not to unhook.
If they want to make this a place people LOVE and tell others about, it wouldn't take much. This place needs to update their services, hire enough knowledgeable staff, and understand people want to use their devices without being monitored.... Check out is at 11 am...if you choose to stay.
We decided to come here over another lovely looking local RV park on Good Sam's site. We recommend the other.
BTW, the owner was extremely nice. Not sure where the disconnect is, but they need to make some changes.
**Update: Code for one of the devices expired within 4 hours of giving it to us. It is suppose to last 24 hours. AFTER the office is closed to...
Read moreLived here for ~2 years. Best way I can sum it up is “campground experience for resort prices”. There are worse places to stay, but I wouldn’t recommend this park for long term stays. Not for the rates they’re charging.
When I first moved in, it was nice-the grounds were nice and everyone was spread out. For the last year, the grounds have rarely been maintained and they’ve crammed almost everyone into one side of the park. During the summer, the lawn is always overgrown and overrun with stickers and bugs. This is my biggest complaint, I can’t even walk my dogs without stopping constantly to pick stickers or goat heads out of their feet. My legs were always chewed up and swollen from walking through their grass.
Currently, they apparently have no one working to even empty the dog waste bins, which are overflowing onto the ground with poo bags. People have all but stopped picking up after their dogs.
Your water WILL freeze in the winter, no matter how much winterizing you do, because they don’t want to fix their cracked spigots. But they WILL make sure you know that you’re financially responsible if their spigots burst, due to their own negligence. I avoided this by just shutting my water completely off during freezing. They also have almost no water pressure.
They recently raised laundry to $2.50, however, when the machines work, they don’t work well. They’re raising rent to $800 (!) a month in January, and have yet to give anyone a written notice.
My last biggest complaint is the people they employ. I’ve walked in to the women’s bathhouse one night, only to find one of their employees being grossly intimate with her huge nasty husband in the stall (should’ve pressed charges on this one). As recently as Monday, I had to “interrupt” the front desk staff who was making out with her husband/boyfriend, just so I could get my package. She then acted out out that I was interrupting her. I’ve also walked in on the owners (who didn’t know I was watching this) go through everyone’s mail, telling someone on the phone who is receiving what…ILLEGAL. Staff LOVE policing people on stupid crap, but can’t seem to uphold ethical decency themselves.
If you’re considering this park for long term, PLEASE consider paying more money at a nicer park. As far as I’m concerned, the only thing you’re paying for is the connections, and spotty wifi. Skip this park entirely in...
Read moreI made a reservation over the telephone about 3 months in advance. When I made the reservation, I asked for a monthly rate, as I was planning to stay about 3 1/2 weeks. They told me that they had monthly rates and that my reservation was confirmed.
At check in, the clerk said that she had my reservation and that I was assigned site #54. She asked "how I wanted to pay"? I said "what ever is best". She said, "how about weekly"? I paid as she suggested.
Later that week, a friend who was also staying at Rockwell RV park asked if they gave me the monthly rate. I told him that I had asked for it in my reservation and that I had paid $250 for the first week. He told me it should be $600 for the month.
I went to the office to check on the rate. The young man at the desk told me "no problem, I will just convert your site to the monthly rate, you can pay the balance of $350 and you're good". I paid the $350 and thanked him for his help.
About an hour later, the manager knocked on my door and informed me that I couldn't convert to a monthly rate. I asked why since that's what I asked for in my reservation. He said I was parked in a daily / weekly site and the monthly sites were 2 rows over. Most of the sites look just like the flat gravel pad that I had. Nothing special, no shade, no amenities, etc. Just gravel & an RV hook up. He told me that I could move to the other site (2 rows over or pay $150 more to keep the site I had)
I followed the manager to the office with the intent of paying the $150 as it was too much trouble to move my 5th wheel and 2nd trailer. The more I thought about it it, the more it bothered me. I didn't think I was being treated fairly or that my business was appreciated.
When I got to the office, I asked for a refund of the $350.00 they had collected an hour before. The manager told me he would have to mail me a check in a few weeks. I said, "no - you just debited my account an hour ago so just void the transaction". He reluctantly did. The woman that originally checked me in started yelling at me from behind the counter, saying that I requested weekly. I told her that my reservation requested monthly and that much like a hotel reservation for a non-smoking room, I expected that to be in the reservation.
They voided the transaction and I packed up and left. I will never stay...
