My wife and I stayed at the Condotel in July of 2021. Prepare yourself for disgusting living conditions inside of a building that is falling apart. On the inside, the mattresses looked, smelled, and felt as if it hadn't been updated since 1981 (willing to bet it hasn't but would rather not think about it too much). The "kitchen" and other interior features are straight out of the 1970s and smell musty. On the outside, each room has "a/c" which is just a window unit that is stuck on the side of the building. In our room, the a/c unit blew hot air, and when we looked inside of the unit we found that it was full of poop, debri, and a bird nest of ratty starlings. (We looked in others and birds were living in almost all of them). It. Was. Disgusting. I am talking about dead birds, a smell as foul as you could imagine and bird mite bites all over our legs. On top of that, the unit next door also had a broken a/c that rattled and screeched so loud that it was difficult for us to sleep during our stay. Not stop rattling, musty room, disgusting living conditions. ||||Speaking with other hotel guests our experience was shared, and from what it sounds the hotel has been falling into disrepair for years. ||||I would rather sleep under a bridge then stay in the "Condotel" again. At least it would be cleaner...
Read moreThis was our sixth straight year staying here. We love the area where it sits, Pirates patio next door, lifeguard station out front. Diane, the manager is very nice, however, she leaves so there is no staff in the evenings. After reading the bad reviews I have to say that at this place each room is individually owned. Some keep their place updated and some rooms I would not want to stay in. That's why some say the beds are bad etc. I visited before I first stayed there. We stay every year in room 19, suite on the second floor. It has two bedrooms (one queen, and bunks in the other with an additional roll away.) The owners keep it updated!! We like that this room includes a full size fridge and small 4 burner stove. Most of the other rooms are nice but again, unless you see it who knows. Another plus for us is that our room has Dish TV like we have at home. The TV is a Roku and the owners leave it signed in to view Netflix shows. Generally some family will come during the week and they love being right on the beach. The walk to the pier is about 10...
Read moreKind of a tough place to review. Location was great, but the place was a bit old and could do with some better upkeep. We stayed there because we were with some folks who went surf fishing. Great for them because of location and you can clean up your fish right there. Nice patio with a couple of grills that you can use. Parking limited. Housekeeping could do a better job. Our room had a refriderator, microwave, and stovetop, but no oven. There was a great view from our room on the second floor. The office closes at night, so if you need anything get it during the day. Crazy little bar right across the street called the Pirates Patio. Went there for a drink, but not to eat. if you are going to Old Orchar Beach there is a train track (1) that runs thru the entire town. some of the Hotels/Motels have the track right in back of them. Make sure you check on the location prior to booking. Condotel was 2 brocks from tracks, so train noise was not too bad. Our stay was alright. Not sure we would stay there again, but it was...
