Very disappointed with the woman that runs the hotel. I've read great reviews but this wasn't the case for us. The gentleman was lovely but both were hyper vigilant always on top of us whenever we were outside. We were here to relax and enjoy our time off.
The woman was extremely rude to our children who are professional adults. It was a busy weekend in oob me the first night we had to book different hotels. When the kids came to visit they were told the hotel doesn't allow guests of guests to visit at any time. They were also told they don't allow laughing in the parking lot at 4:pm.
The second day we had a second room. Both of our rooms hold 4 adults each. We had our three children and their significant others plus us makes 8 and the woman again told our children they weren't supposed to be here. She hasn't had the decency to say anything to either my husband or myself.
There were problems from when we first arrived that we could have over looked. The woman had a hard time in the office signing us and several others in so she told us to come back. There also isn't enough parking for the rooms to have more than one car and they don't have handicap parking.
The rooms were neatly kept and the price is fair for a beach view but being treated badly ruined our stay at the hotel. Thank goodness everyone else in Maine was lovely and we enjoyed the rest of the trip:). We don't get to spend time with our children now they are grown. It was a special time that most of us could be together like this :) plus our daughter in law to be just graduated nursing school with high honors :). Of course they are the kids the hotel harrassed :(. She's had her nose in the books for years and the first chance she has to relax with family this hotel is rude!!! Do not recommend this place we had to be super quiet and...
Read more1st off - there is a renovation going on at this hotel so some of our issues may be (hopefully) resolved when it s complete.||There is NO staff on property. We were texted our room numbers and the keys are in individual lock boxes with the code to open your in the text. That was a nice feature because we could just walk in and get our keys when we arrived. There is no elevator during the reno so the person in our party on the 4th floor had to carry her bags up 3 flights of stairs - no staff to help. The rooms are well appointed with seating area, nice bed and linens. Our blinds (the room had metal blinds) on some of the windows would not open and the windows were very hard to raise and lower. The bathroom is quite small with no space around the sink to have your toiletries out. The towels were nice but a couple of ours either were just stained or not replaced form the last occupant.||The location is lovely across from the ocean and there is a nice beach a short walk away. No there amenities are really walkable. After their renovation I think this will be lovely place but it did not meet our...
Read moreWanting to find a room near or on Old Orchard beach using google searches i spoke to Kristy at The Beach House. After speaking with Kristy my girlfriend and I felt a genuine good feeling and decided to book.
From the moment we walked into the main lobby we instantly knew we made the right decision by the feeling of new furniture, decor and cleanliness, not to mention the gorgeous view with large windows with gorgeous views.
Our room was possibly the cleanest and updated room I might have ever stayed in! I felt like the the all of the bedding was extremely new and possibly never slept in. The patio set on our private patio (same furniture for every room) was super comfortable and very high end!
The service we received was exceptional! We mistakenly forgot our beach chairs so Kristy offered us her personal chairs to use for the day.
To sum it up I would recommend this place a million times over. We live in the Buffalo NY area and dont often make our way to the New England area however our experience at the Beach House might convince us to return sooner rather then later!
Special thanks to Kristy for our...
