We stayed at Hotel Indigo Omaha Downtown, and overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but there were a few areas for improvement. We arrived early in the morning around 2:30 AM after a long drive and had trouble finding parking. The parking situation was difficult and wasn’t really equipped to handle larger vehicles like ours. Check-in was easy, and the staff was nice—though not overly friendly. One issue was that we weren’t given clear directions to our room, so we had to wander around a bit to find it. The room itself was clean, tidy, and very nicely decorated. I really enjoyed the vibes it gave off. We didn’t see too much of the hotel décor, as we went straight to our room, but the room décor was on point. We stayed on the 6th floor, so we had a decent view from the narrow window, and we weren’t expecting a huge view in the city of Omaha. While there were a few hiccups, such as the phone not working and some QR codes in the room leading to broken sites, the room itself was comfortable. I also couldn’t get connected to the Wi-Fi at first, but after finding the handwritten Wi-Fi code in the key envelope, everything worked fine. The room temperature was a bit of an issue, as the thermostat didn’t seem to lower the temperature, and the air conditioning didn’t work. The bathroom was clean and stocked well, and the kitchenette had a coffee and tea maker, which I appreciated. Overall, the hotel gave off a fancy vibe but could benefit from more practical details that would make the stay more comfortable. I would have liked more information about the hotel or local attractions in the room, like a pen and paper for leaving notes for housekeeping. We only stayed for a few hours to sleep before hitting the road again, so it wasn’t a deal breaker, but for a longer stay, I would’ve expected a bit more attention to these details.

Overall, my stay at this location was excellent. I was shocked at the quality of this hotel for the price. I was very excited to find it and add this chain to my list of work hotels, but I was disappointed to find upon further digging that it is typically out of budget in most other cities--so if you happen to be in Omaha, it's a great inexpensive way to stay at a lovely and unique hotel!

The design of the property was very cool and unique, and they seem to have maintained some of the original aspects of the building, which was nice to see (to me, raising old buildings is a real shame to just build a giant rectangle in its place). Everything was spotless and the room (at least mine) was giant.

A few little things to note:

  1. If you are a light sleeper (as I am) sleep may be challenging. While the overall rooms themselves are incredibly quiet, the seal around the doors is not great. Due to the unique layout of the hotel, noise funnels up clearly and crisply from the atrium. Perhaps a room in another location would be quieter, but where I was next to the elevator meant many noises were crisply audible, even with earplugs. If the fan was running on the air system in the room, that helped, but bar noise and elevator music noise was noticeable.
  2. I booked this hotel almost purely based on the speakeasy incorporated into the hotel, which so many reviews rave about. I was pretty crushed to find it is closed on Sundays--the one night I was there. I am super bummed I missed out on this, so just be aware that Sundays are not an option for that!
  3. There is no adjustable/close up mirror in the bathroom--not a huge deal for me, but I know is important to some folks.

A big plus to note is that it is super walkable, and given I was car-less that was a major win for me. I was able to walk to the pedestrian bridge in about 25 minutes, and the downtown area with lots of shops and restaurants in about 15. Also was able to walk to multiple coffee shops within 10 minutes, though there is a Nespresso in the room (a real treat compared to what's available in most hotels--blech!). It just so happened that all of my walking about was during daylight hours, but I think I would have felt Ok walking at night if needed.

Overall, I loved my stay. Really cool space, lovely staff. I will definitely consider other Indigos when they are in my price range in the future, though I will carefully vet noise potential just in case. Looking forward to hopefully experiencing another Indigo when I am in Baltimore for a conference...

I previously stayed at the Indigo Hotel in Downtown Omaha, and even on that occasion I had an issue with the temperature in the room and the ability to stay comfortable. That stay wasn't quite as bad as this experience and it has made me come to the reality that I won't be spending any more nights at the Indigo Hotel in Omaha.

I understand that your hotel is a smart hotel and eco friendly and thus you feel you have the ability to set the temperature for every room at what you feel is acceptable. I want to tell you that no single temperature for any room is what every individual is comfortable with and it absolutely effects how they sleep and the quality of rest they get for the evening.

On this stay I had the engineer come to my room and try to adjust the thermostat do to it being very warm in the room. He was only able adjust the thermostat to where it would either heat to 68 or the ac would come on if the room was above 68. The room was at 72 degrees when I arrive and the AC was set to cool at 73 and could not be lowered down at all. Once he set the thermostat to heat and cool, it did cool the room somewhat, until the heat kicked on and heated the room to 68. It was a constant cycle and a battle back and forth all night of cool air and heat, one minute the room is comfortable and the next minute the room in hot and the air is kicking on. I could not sleep comfortable, I was tossing and turning, pulling the sheets closer and then throwing them off because I was sweating the next minute. This was absolutely unacceptable. I was told by staff that you have heaters and fans in rooms to keep people warm and cool them off if needed. If I would have known this I would have never made accommodations at you hotel, and I doubt I ever will again. I was specifically told by staff at checkout that they have heard there are specific issues with the AC/heat in that room I was given. This leads me to wonder, unless the hotel was totally booked up, which is wasn't, why would you put someone in a room that has known issues. This once again is totally unacceptable and I will be making sure that everyone knows of the quality of stay at this site and with the Indigo Hotel brand. I was extremely disappointed with this stay and my last one as well and I hope that in the future you are able to come to some arrangement that will work with your smart hotel style and the comfort, and quality of your guests as they stay in your hotel, which I will not be...

During our recent stay at Hotel Indigo in Omaha, I was thoroughly impressed by the outstanding service provided by the front desk, the in-house bars, and the shuttle team. From the moment we arrived, Mia at the front desk was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the check-in process smooth and efficient. She was always available to answer any questions and offered excellent recommendations for local dining and attractions. We were there for a quick trip to celebrate a birthday. Mia asked about the birthday and wished the birthday girl a happy birthday. The shuttle service was equally impressive, offering timely and convenient transportation that truly enhanced our experience. The drivers were professional, courteous, and went out of their way to ensure passengers were comfortable and satisfied. On Friday morning not thinking about breakfast we requested a shuttle to the zoo. Realizing on the way we might want a little something we asked Mr. Jim if there was a Starbucks on the way. There was not, but two minutes later he spotted a Scooters and asked if we would like that, he then took us through their drive-thru! Nick picked us up from the zoo talked about the birthday, and asked about our plans. He was sure to let us know he was driving until 10:00 and would be available for rides to and from dinner as well as back to the airport as we were leaving that night. We were equally impressed by the exceptional service at both of the hotel bars. Penelope at Anna’s Place was attentive and friendly, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed and valued. We managed to stop in and have a few drinks both nights of our stay at Anna’s Place. Penelope (Penny) was amazing! She remembered us from the evening before and asked all about our day. We stopped and saw Monica at the Three Card Monte before our flight. The drink of the month was a mint drink we just had to try. Continuing with the great service, Monica also asked about our trip and how our day was going. The service at these bars stood out as a highlight of our visit. I highly recommend stopping by for a drink if you're ever in the area! This level of dedication and attention to detail from the front desk, shuttle teams, and bar staff made our stay at Hotel Indigo feel special and memorable. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Really an amazing stay overall. We will definitely stay here again! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for top-notch hospitality and service beyond...
