Casa Mexicana Restaurant — Restaurant in Oxford

Being an Oxford native, I ate here years ago when it was still El-Charo. I decided to give the newly named Casa Mexicana a try tonight. I will never eat here again and will attempt to honestly inform everyone of my experience tonight. I feel like I could have lit my 30 dollars on fire and gotten more satisfaction. We ordered a takeout order of Fajita Nachos, chicken cheese and rice and a steak cheese and rice. My fajita nachos had about two pieces of shredded cheese on them and a minimal amount of toppings. It had absolutely no queso whatsoever. Both orders of chicken/steak, cheese and rice had such a small amount of cheese dip that it was almost not noticeable to the eye or the fork. The food was absolutely flavorless. The provided salsa was in a cup not much bigger than a shot glass, but we were given a sandwich size bag full of chips which made no sense considering we only dipped about six chips before we were out of salsa. All of this combined to make our 30 dollar meal seem like the a huge waste of money since none of us were remotely full or satisfied. The old El-Charo was some of the best food and service I have had. We are normally not picky or difficult customers but this was just so sub-par that we could not help but write a review to warn others of the risk you are taking when you visit Casa Mexicana. In conclusion, if you like small portions, no cheese, bland food and going out in search of more food to feel as if you have had a meal...Casa Mexicana might be right...

I just left here, on March 6, 2017. I went in at about 2:00pm for lunch and ordered the shrimp and sausage quesadilla. It was not appetizing to me at all, I won't say it was nasty because some may think it good. I asked for a different entree, and the manager came out and said no once you order something you're stuck with it, we don't take anything back. I've never heard of this rule, I literally only took one bite and couldn't eat any of it because the flavor of the sausage affected the entire meal. They were so rude, you guys should be ashamed of your customer service. I paid for something I didn't eat. I will never come here again, and Papitos is the only place I will attend. I've never had a problem with this restaurant before, but I usually always order a chimichanga... I guess that's the only thing Casa Mexicana can make...

The food is amazing. However, the staff is not. We sat at the bar for dinner and drinks. The bartender Bianca had a terrible attitude. She gave us our drinks but did not ask if we wanted to have dinner as well. We sat for almost 15 minutes with no menus before I had to get up and go get my own. After another 10 minutes she came back to finally take out order only to say "the kitchen is really busy it could take a while" as if to deter us from eating there. Even though she was the bartender she never was behind the bar to get us refills. We had to ask a busboy. The manager walked around asking everyone but us how they were doing.
