I only give this place a 1 because I can’t select 0 stars. First of all, I called ahead to ask what the wait would be for a table for 5. They told me 30 minutes. We arrive shortly after the call, and I give them my name and number. They then tell me it’s a 45 minute wait. However, the most confusing part of this is that they had seats and tables available both indoor and outdoor. After giving them my number, they tell me they’ll call me when a table is ready. We wait for around 50 minutes after continuously seeing people who arrived after us be seated. That’s when a person with my group went to ask the host why we haven’t been seated. The host then replies and says that he was calling me as the person from my group was speaking to them, when they didn’t have a phone in their hand and I received no call. After we got seaside, it took 10 minutes for them to even ask us for our drinks order. Mind you, when we arrived there were maybe 4 tables with people at them. They were not busy. After we ordered our drinks, it took another 10 minutes to receive them. After receiving our drinks, our server asked us what appetizers we would like and so we ordered a flatbread, the pepperoni kind. We waited for around 15 minutes for the appetizers which wasn’t horrible. However, the quality of the flatbread that I ordered is the same as a microwaveable pizza from the dollar general. After checking in with us a few times (3 times), our server finally asks us if we are ready to order an entree or if we would rather wait. We all ordered, and made sure our orders were correct. For the next hour, we are asked if we need any refills but when we ask about the food, the server tells us that it’s almost ready. After countless times of asking for the food, two hours has passed. Turns out, our food hasn’t even been on the grill. People who arrived at the same time, or even after us, got their food at least an hour before this. So we requested to speak to a manager. After speaking to the massager, they assured us that our food would be our soon and that they could give us a 25% discount for our inconvenience. After waiting another 15 minutes of waiting, we tell the server we would rather just pay for our drinks and appetizers and leave. The server then begins to argue why it took so long to get our food. We just ask for our checks. After our checks come out, the server tells us that our food is ready and if we would like it to go. We ask for it to go and the manager comes back with our checks, and it comes to 60 dollars which is outrageous. We ask for them to not pack our food to go, and for us to just resume with paying for the appetizers and drinks. The manager says she would have to go back and re-enter our order. We simply ask her outright how much we needed to pay and it came to right at 30 dollars for a flatbread appetizer and 3 drinks. We ended up paying the manager, and let her keep the change because we didn’t even want to be in the building anymore. Needless to say, for this place to have 3.9 stars, and it have beach access in Panama City of all places, I expected way more, or at least bare minimum service. Very displeased with my experience and would...
Read moreWe ordered sweet tea that was served with very little ice so it wasn’t cold. Waitress didn’t know the menu, argued with us about it. It plainly said all entrees come with fries and slaw. I got the $35 combo, shrimp, fish and crab cakes and was told I could choose one side to go with it, I chose salad. My granddaughter ordered the shrimp platter that was supposed to come with fries and slaw and was told she could only get one side. Food was brought out without salad and Cole slaw by a different waitress and for some reason we got ranch dressing instead of tartar sauce. So we asked for my salad and her coleslaw and were told they were out of coleslaw. When she brought my salad we asked for tarter and cocktail sauce, she brought cocktail sauce and more ranch. I had to go to the bar and ask for tartar because all the waiters had disappeared. When our waitress finally came back we asked what she could get in place of the coleslaw and we were told nothing. The food was ok except for the salad that was so wilted the croutons were like little sponges. After we finished eating we still hadn’t seen our waitress since she said we couldn’t get anything to replace the coleslaw so I again went to the bar and was ignored by 5 employees that were counting money and talking. Finally someone came behind the bar to see what I needed and said she would get the waitress to bring tea to the table. Again it was brought without enough ice to cool it so we drank luke warm tea again. I think she finally realized we were not happy and actually came back to the table twice within 10 minutes asking if we enjoyed our meal. I wanted to speak to the manager but my granddaughter asked me not to because I was already angry and she was afraid if management was as incompetent as the other staff there might be a scene. She brought our tickets and then apologized about the coleslaw and said she had just checked the kitchen to see if they had some like we would have wanted it now that we were ready to leave. I paid my ticket of $41 dollars for 7 shrimp, 1small filet of fish, a crab cake, wilted salad ( that I couldn’t eat) and 2 warm glasses of tea. I did leave a small tip just in case the waitress wasn’t trained correctly. Oh and there were only 4 tables with someone sitting there including us so the awful service wasn’t because they were busy. Will definitely not...
Read moreSunday Family Day we tried a new beach location. Living in the area, we rarely try the establishment's On The Beach due to the over-priced poor food options and long waits on drinks and entrees.
This spot is just why the above is true!!😝
Ordered drinks on the outdoor porch...took a long time to arrive.
Waitress Kaylia was very nice and overly attentive, but not in the positive way. She was rushing us to order food and drinks even when an explanation of travel fatigue was mentioned. We wanted to whined down...
Oysters on half shell were ok.
Ordered the Cheese Quesadilla and side of French fries to begin.
The quesadilla was good...but both kids didn't like taste of fries and mayo was spoiled in the condiment caddy on table. After adult taste, we realized the oil was bad they were cooked in.
Asked for manager, he immediately wanted to take the fries off our bill. We explained, we aren't concerned with the cost. The oil was bad tasting. Howard(manager on duty), said not possible I closed last night and it was changed. He tasted fries and made a few faces and said ok... I will check but they taste fine....
Moments later...he returned to table to tell us, " Yes you were right. The night guy never changed the smaller oil frier".
Following this, husband ordered the $28.00 Grilled Seafood Platter.
Not Grilled, upon arriving to table...it was Fried. Overfried stuffed crab shell. To point of dry. Overcooked soggy fries. It was truly a disappointing visit to this Beach HIDEAWAY... Related to food you should all let it stay HID- Away...avoid the waste of time and money.
Outside of poor food, the ladies room was a mess. Broken toliet paper dispenser. No toliet paper at all.
Hand washing sink overflowing. On first visit at 11:30am
Our second time, at 1:04pm still remained the same situation. However, I managed to fix the sink myself, desperate to wash my hands.
How is it possible not to have a restroom in a resturant not maintained. Unsanitary and absolutely annoying. Thinking that the mostly female staff had to,at least once have complaints other than mine.
I gave two stars based on the waitress Kaylia attention to my...
