Sonesta Simply Suites Phoenix Glendale — Hotel in Phoenix

This was an absolute joke of an experienced. I sat in a car for an entire day to get here at around 2:30 AM. Only be told that I actually am not allowed to run a room while I'm here. Which made 0 sense because there were availabilities period what actually happened was that the young man at the front desk repeatedly walked by the smoking area where I happened to be sitting again. I had been in a car for the last 12 hours. And told me and a couple of other folks that they had to leave and that I had to leave with 0 reasons to why other than we just needed to go board and quote. This is the most astonine treatment of another person. I've seen arguably at any hotel ever and I've been to some places where the planteller is felt like a bad person. I felt like I was treated like a bad person. And I really didn't do anything wrong except try to book a room. And try to speak politely. To this gentleman who works here at any rate. I didn't actually see the rooms so although I rated them A1I didn't see what the inside looked like, but I highly advise against coming here especially late at night because they do not care about you. They do not care about your travel. All's they care about is whatever their personal dilemma is in that moment and that is all that they will see within you is whatever it is that they're currently dealing with. That is a short-sighted and terrible. I stayed here for 4 weeks while on a working sabbatical .. The rooms were clean and well stocked .. The service was timely, and attentive and any need or issue that arose during my stay was resolved within minutes .. The 4 star on location is only because it is situated on a one way frontage road of highway 17 and if you miss the turn you have to do quite a bit of driving to get back around for another shot .. Or alternatively - it is not a very busy road at most times and one can most likely get away with just throwing it in reverse for 100 yards to get back to the driveway without encountering other cars on the road and avoid the 10 minutes it takes to go around the block .. Other than that - very comfortable stay with great amenities - the inhouse convenience store, onsite laundry, pool and hot tub, comfortable designated smoking areas, large park directly accessible, easy and quick doordashing, if you happen to fall asleep while waiting for a delivery - the front desk will accept it and call your room and let you know it has arrived, plenty of parking, good AC both in room and common areas, no bugs seen anywhere my entire visit, the in room kitchenette was well outfitted with additional custom appliances available upon request, Internet access was good, made even easier after signing up for the free Sonesta rewards program, the speed was fast either way, good security, me and my belongings felt safe at all times, never worried over anything out in my truck overnight. All of the front desk and cleaning staff were friendly and accommodating and always available .. I enjoyed a very comfortable stay and was actually reluctant to leave .. I plan to stay with Sonesta Glendale whenever I visit Phoenix...

This place is terrible! I’m an IHG member and stay at the brand hotels. This is the first I’ve ever encountered that I would never recommend to anyone. Upon walking in, you feel you are walking into a holding tank. The checkin counter is something you’d see at a booking station. Give it the benefit of the doubt, ask for extra pillows, was told by the attendant she’d have them up. Hour later, nothing. Call down, she forgot our room #. Called back down as the toilet didn’t flush and sink didn’t drain, she said “oh maintenance is done for the day”, so I said fine we’ll wait til the next day so it can get fixed. Reminded her about the pillows, she said “oh what room # and said you can pick them up when you return.” We leave for the evening and return to get our pillows. Also had to ask for another towel as the hand towels in our room were filthy. At 10pm we the toilet didn’t work at all so we asked to be moved. She didn’t know our room #, surprise, and by the time she brought us the key it was 10:45pm. This falls on management as she claimed she was the only one on duty. My wife is pregnant and after a long day of travel just wanted to sleep. We move rooms, everything seemed okay until the broken down AC rattled all night long on top of noisy vehicles and the deadbolt didn’t work. My wife was bitten by something while she slept as well. End result.... we moved to a competitor hotel who accommodated us immediately. This place is a joke and I warn future guests to search elsewhere. We will be filing a formal complaint...
