This WAS one of the restaurants that had been a "staple" for the last several years, especially since COVID. However, NOT ANYMORE!!
We went last night and after ordering and eating our salad etc, the manager approached to say "sorry for the delay" but our "kitchen fell behind but your meals will be hot, fresh & brought out shortly." Our waitress came to the table & said the manager "approved free dessert for us since our meals were taking so long." Within about 10 minutes of his visit, our meals were served. My dish was the stuffed tortellini & chicken alfredo & my friend had the tour of italy.
It was VERY OBVIOUS that our meals were NOT "FRESH" & were NOT "hot!" My tortellini was so hard on the edges that there was a clicking noise when I tapped my fork on them! Last time I checked, pasta was cooked & soft when served... apparently NOT SO for OLIVE GARDEN! My friends meal was NOT any better. The manager came over & offered to re make the meals fresh or to take them off the bill. We had already been there for 2 hours so we opted to have the meals removed from the bill. Our waitress came to drop off the bill & advised that "my manager approved the meals to be removed" & that we would only "owe for our drinks"..... would now be a good time to tell you what our drinks were that he apparently did not want to remove??? A COKE & A PEACH TEA, LOL. Now I have no problem paying for my drinks, but if your restaurant has horrible performance & terrible food.... would it be too much of a stretch to just go ahead and cover the WHOLE BILL including the coke & the tea which came to a total of $8.47 with tax???? Is Olive Garden doing so poorly financially that they can't afford to buy a customer a coke and another customer a glass of iced tea???
Now back to that "free dessert" the manager had offered since we "waited so long for our meals"...... the waitress came over to ask what kind of dessert I wanted and I asked her if she could just pack it up so I could take it home. I made my selection and off she went to go and get the dessert ready for me to take. Upon bringing the dessert back, my friend asked her why she wasn't asked what type of dessert she wanted. The waitress replied and said well. The manager said I can only give "one dessert" so that's all I gave!
WOW!!! ARE YOU ALL FEELING AS WARM AND FUZZY AS I AM???? Olive Garden you are nothing more than a glorified Denny's at this point but you just keep on vying for your customers repeat business... NOT! NEEDLESS TO SAY I...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience at Olive Garden and our server was Sierra. Consider reading this review.
I never leave reviews for restaurants. My family and I are not very picky with our food or service. We have eaten many times in the past and never had issues especially with the service. Tonight was different.
When we first arrived to the location, we were greeted and immediately sat down at a booth. Before we got to the booth, I requested a table. The hostess scowled and told us it would be a 15 minute wait. I said that is fine and we waited. The hostess took us to the table and we were not greeted by a server for almost 10 minutes. The server was nice at first taking our order. We put our usual order and waited for our soups to come out. Our main entrees were late. This doesn’t bug us because we like eating the soup and breadsticks almost as much as the main entree. After we added our second bowl of soup when our entree came out, the server became annoyed. She rarely checked on us. If we did ask for anything, you can tell she was becoming more and more irritated. It came to the point that we didn’t want to ask her for anything. I finally requested an appetizer to go along with a birthday dessert for my partner to go.we waited 20 minutes before we received our appetizer and another 5 minutes for our birthday dessert. We paid for the birthday dessert which I assumed was customary for them to give you a birthday item for free. It took another 5 minutes to receive a bag for our food. The server stopped making eye contact as she was so annoyed with serving us. It became uncomfortable. We ended up paying and leaving.
We rarely go out and for us to get this kind of service was very unfortunate. The fact that we decided to celebrate a birthday event for my partner, and we received this kind of service was horrendous. This in fact ruined our night. If you want to go to Olive Garden, don’t go to the one on 28th ave and Peoria. If you have to go there, don’t...
Read moreWhat a terrible date night for myself and my oldest daughter. The restaurant was only a third full due to social distancing rules and by my count there were tons of Staff (10 front of house) compared to the small amount of people actually in the restaurant. All we ordered was appetizers in the form of mozzarella sticks and the fried shrimp, then my daughter ordered kids spaghetti with just butter and I ordered soup and salad. It took an eternity to get our food and they forgot to bring out my daughter her spaghetti. When I mentioned it to the server 45 minutes after ordering it she said oh no it's coming as if somehow spaghetti with butter in it took much longer than fried mozzarella. There was a big zero recognition that there was a problem when I complained about how long the taking just to get plain spaghetti. I ordered the soup and salad and they delivered me a salad but they didn't bring me a plate. I ordered a second bowl of soup since it's all you can eat and I never got the second bowl of soup. The whole situation was ridiculous. I am fully aware that we are in a strange time but there were plenty of staff on shift for the literal ten total tables in the restaurant. I still tipped 20% because I realize the server's haven't made money in sometime but I feel like I got screwed on the money I spent by the ridiculous...
