I loved it here at Pappadeaux's and will absolutely be back when I'm in town. Location space is large enough to host a wedding, which they do accommodate, and they do a very good job at capturing the essence of New Orleans from the Jazz music and lush green flora to the Renaissance themed patio decks and inspired inner decor. We visited during their Mardi Gras celebration and were offered gold, purple and green bead necklaces, a well-known tradition from the celebration on Bourbon Street and a very personal touch to incorporate during the season. There's atmosphere in spades here.
We enjoyed the Crispy Alligator with fresh cut potato sticks & Creole dipping sauce appetizer. Tasted like chicken, but better. The gator was tender, flavorful and fried to perfection. The potato sticks were a well-thought-out addition and the Alligator sauce was well-balanced with cajun flavor. With our Seafood Platter of fried Tilapia and Catfish Filet, Shrimp, Oysters, Stuffed Shrimp and Stuffed Crab, we added the Loaded Baked Potato, which is huge, and Gumbo with Andoullie Sausage (highly recommended). All of our food came out quick, fresh and piping hot. I'm confident the other menu items are just well-prepared and delicious.
Staff was numerousand all constantly busy moving, serving, cleaning, sweeping, helping. It was a high energy environment and they seemed to enjoy being there. Yasmine, our deluxe server, was phenomenal. Having worked and trained in the food service industry for over a decade, she is a seasoned expert. Incredibly knowledgeable, came to the table promptly, offered lots of options, recommendations and features items. She anticipated our needs, checked on us often, kept us updated on the progress of our order and kept the table clean and free of clutter during our meal. Her attention to detail was astronomically better than most I've encountered.
Dessert is no afterthought here and you will be rewarded with a thing of beauty and deliciousness no matter what you select. So, do keep dessert in mind before they bring your food to the table. For us, we ordered the Praline Bread Pudding Souffle with Bourbon Sauce, Turtle Fudge Brownie and the Praline Cheesecake to-go. I would not do you the disservice of disclosing exactly how wonderful these items are to the tastebuds (you're welcome). For that, you'll have to visit Pappadeaux's and see...
Read moreIt was my birthday dinner and my very good friend treated me! I picked papadouxs because I have wanted to try it for years! Sadly we were really disappointed! I got the seafood gumbo which had not much seafood in it except I was able to see a tiny shrimp! It also didn't taste very good and was thin not like the stew I've had in other places.I also got the fried seafood platter with more shrimp. The Caeser salad we each got one and we both agreed we wouldn't reorder,it was just ok. It's not a true Caesar! The biggest issue was my friends dinner. She is allergic to shrimp. From pictures on here people usually get 4-5 shrimp with this order. In place of the shrimp they gave her ONE scallop!! It wouldn't have been so bad except her salmon was blackened and extremely salty!!! A good blackening is not this way! It was inedible. Her pureed potatoes were overpowered with mangego cheese,I believe it was called. Also inedible. I also tasted them and you could not taste any potato. Her dinner also came with "lump crab" In my opinion they shouldn't even mention the crab because what they gave her was such a scant portion of crab!! I had never seen such small amounts of an item on a plate before!! I know inflation is high but the prices are continuing to rise as well! Especially since her shrimp was replaced with one scallop! It was about 1/2 teaspoon of crab if that !!! She did love the key lime pie! As well as my free desert banana pudding was good. I had taken the rest of my my dinner home. The shrimp were good the oysters were good but a little heavy on the breading. I would definitely leave off the fried crawfish because they just weren't good. We had paid extra for me to have beans and rice and I couldn't eat it,it was just so salty and I'm a salt person.Between the 2 of us she spent about $200/ inc tip. I just wasn't impressed as she also felt the same! Wish it could have been better because as seniors we don't get to splurge like this a lot! I especially felt so bad because she did spend a lot of money and we really should have been able to enjoy this! I've heard such good things about this place so maybe it was an off night. Service was decent. We were there for dinner on...
Read moreIt was our first visit to this establishment, my partner and I were really excited. Upon our arrival the hostess did not acknowledge us, we had to step to the podium and ask for a table. We where sat a both by the bar, our server JESSE was really nice, we waited about 15 minutes to get 2 drinks, the restaurant was fairly empty, we had just missed lunch and I had to ask for a happy hour menu, we went ahead and ordered a SEAFOOD PLATTER, after 30 minutes the food got to our table very poorly presented for being a 45.99$ plate, divided in two small plates! Looked very underwhelming. We were hungry and started eating just to find out that everything was extremely salty! As our waitress passed by I flagged her down to let her know that we couldn’t eat the dish, she then said let me get my manager, by this point you can see in her face she just wanted to leave as it was shift change.
The manager I believe named HAYLE, don’t quite recall, came over to our table, we complained that the food was atrocious, and we asked for a menu as by this point we have been in the restaurant for almost an hour. We proceded to order a raw seafood player thinking that it would be quicker and fresher and to our surprise waited another 25 minutes. When the food finally arrived I don’t have any plate or silverware and no one even cared. At this point my partner and I tried to eat as fast as possible so we could pay and leave. I then asked for the check, when it came I noticed that the manager only comped our 12$ dessert. I guess that was the worth of my experience there!.
I felt bad for our server at this point, that didn’t even want to come back to our table. it wasn’t Jesse’s fault, even though she just wanted to finish her table and go, and we still tipped her 20% and said here we know you just want to leave.
Needless to say we will never be back nor recommend this place! What a shame really! Management came up...
