The location is on a busy street so walkable to many places but consider the use of sturdy walking shoes. Businesses are spread out. It was quiet in my room though. Attractive lobby. There's an indoor pool too.
The front desk staff were pleasant but when I asked for recommendations for restaurants they liked they made a point to tell me they don't hang out in Pigeon Forge due to it being too touristy. This is not helpful for the guests they serve. I am passing through and could use reliable information from locals.
The rooms are accessible from the outside. I had to park across the lot for my room. This made it difficult to bring my belongings inside in a downpour.
I located the coffee machine on the counter of the bathroom sink. This is inappropriate. There's also a sort of closet/ place to hang a coat or outfit by the bathroom sink too. The hooks for the hangers were rusty.
The light in the toilet/bathtub/shower room could be described as dim or romantic. Take your pick. Hard to see to wash in there. Also, no grab bars.
There was a complete lack of towel bars to hang a used towel. I had to use either pants hangers with clips or draping drawers. There was an ironic sign on the bathroom sink counter about conserving Earth's resources and saving water by hanging towels up to be reused versus leaving them on the floor to be washed. I did not see large refillable containers of body wash, shampoo or conditioner nailed to the wall in the shower area and likewise I did not see large bottles of hand soap and lotion that can be refilled nailed to the wall by the bathroom sink as many hotels are now doing to cut down on the use of plastic bottles.
No laundry facilities for guests as it was/is being renovated. Couldn't the hotel make some arrangements with the local laundry businesses nearby?
Please, Best Western, do better. Your guests and the Earth will...
Read moreI will start out with the good things about this hotel; the location is on the main strip but on the end so it’s in a good spot, the pool area was nice and clean, however the water was very cool to be an indoor pool. The room was clean, however these are classic ‘motel’ rooms with just a few upgrades.
Now let me tell you my experience. We checked in on Saturday and I booked this through a booking site, not theirs and I aware of that, however the pictures of this place gives it way more credit than it actually looks like in person. Upon checking in, they put us in the room closest to the road on the very end. I asked my husband to go back in and see if we could please switch rooms. We were even willing to pay the cleaning fee because we had already been in it or pay to upgrade. The attendant let my husband know that there wasn’t another room like ours available AND we booked our room third party and he couldn’t make any modifications on it. They were very unhelpful and didn’t care of a customers’ concerns, at all.
So, I stayed however, you could hear EVERYTHING going on outside and people coming and going all night long; we were under the stairs too, so every sound was amplified but it seems the door and walls was very thin and outdated.
We booked two nights and ended up leaving around 7:30pm on Sunday night, instead of Monday which is very disappointing when a vacation is supposed to be relaxing and this was anything but. We ended up without power for half the morning, too because of a high wind advisory, so I can’t speak on the breakfast that was offered.
If you’re looking for a clean, convenient hotel and don’t really care about amenities or hospitality then this hotel is for you, if those matter to you, then take your money somewhere else like I should have. There are other hotels for similar prices that would be much...
Read moreWe stayed for 3 nights. Our room was in the enclosed pool area. Morning time the pool area was fairly cool, but as the day comes along the pool area became very humid and very warm and it seemed the chlorine smell became stronger. Our room was very clean and we did not smell the chlorine in the room. The ac keep our room very cool but was very noisy making weird sounds all hours of the night. Well afternoon day 3 our room seemed warmed so we cranked down the ac and noticed the whirlpool was finally empty so we rushed out to the whirlpool for a much needed quite warm water massage. Once we returned to the room it still felt hot but we kind of wondered if it was just us and just coming out of the hot whirlpool. So I took a quick cool shower and hoped to cool down some. About an hour or so later my husband and I were sweating n just plan miserable hot. The ac didn't seem to be blowing any cool air. At 9 pm I called the front desk. Thinking man this is going to be a miserable night or it going to take hours to see a maintenance person. At 5 min after 9 we had a knock on the door. I was shocked. Within 30 minutes he had found the ac was bad and he replaced the entire unit. I wish I had remembered his name he was very nice and the super fast service was way beyond our past experience or expectations. He needs a big thank you. Our last night was very comfortable and very quiet.
The breakfast was good. They had a fair amount of items to choose from. From gravy and biscuits, sausage , ham and scrambled eggs, muffins toast, oatmeal, fresh fruit and yogurt. Oh. They do have coffee at the front desk. All in all I would stay here again. I really wish they had more parking available. It is very tight and if they are sold out you might end up parking up front at the desk. That's the only thing that really...
