At the beginning of our stay we were pleased with the staff, Anita at the front desk was exceptional during check in. After that, it went a little downhill each day from the cleaning crew.
Monday they came in while we were out and straightened the bedding, restocked the bathroom, took the trash, vacuumed. Tuesday, we wanted new sheets on the bed so I took them off and set them on the floor with a note. Did they change the sheets, no they didn't. They also didn't clean the tub, nor did they leave us with a bag for the ice bucket.
Wednesday they came in finally changed the sheets that I had asked them to do they day before. They restocked the bathroom again, but also again didn't clean the tub, nor wipe down the counter tops. And some serious dusting needs to be done behind the TV. When we returned for the evening we had received a note saying we wouldn't receive normal service on Thursday unless we called before 9am the next morning because it was Thanksgiving. Well, I called and asked for the full servicing of our room and she said she noted it.
Thursday morning between 8-9am there's a loud knocking on the door. It was housekeeping coming to just drop off towels and restock the bathroom. I asked her if she'd be back later to finish the rest of the room and she said unlikely. I was floored by her response. The trash needed taking out, we needed new sheets on the beds, etc. Needless to say, none of that was done. Which was a huge problem especially with the sheets not being changed out.
Friday was pretty much a repeat of the same lack of service we received on Wednesday. We took our own trash out after we returned for the evening that day.
Check out on Saturday. I brought the room keys to the front desk, I wish I would have gotten the name of the lady behind the counter. She seemed to be inconvenienced that I was letting her know we were leaving and returning the keys to the front desk. She asks in a not so polite voice, well didn't you get a receipt under your door? Well, yes I did but me thinking I'm showing courtesy is obviously beyond your comprehension.
If I were you, I wouldn't stay here and receive half a** service when you could go up the road or to one town over in Gatlinburg and get a better rate on a room with much better service. We definitely wouldn't book this hotel...
Read moreWe first came to the hotel and absolutely were blown away by the room. The room had a nice layout with a jacuzzi tub that was an amazing addition to the room. We did have 3 instances that we were not happy with. First, we went out to get breakfast and came back to the hotel to get something from our room. There was someone working on something with the parking lot in the back and was being very loud. It woke up our daughter from her much needed nap which made the rest of the day very tough. The interruption of the nap almost made us have to leave a restaurant that we had made reservations with. Secondly, we were so excited to use the pool. We saw a few people in there, but we decided to go anyways. When we got in, the other people were acting crazy throwing balls towards us, jumping into the pool right beside us, and just not being considerate of anyone other than themselves. The parents were not even watching their kids and we ended up having to leave not too long after getting in the pool. Both my wife and I are educators and we understand that kids can be kids. At the same time, that shouldn't have made a bad experience for my family. Lastly, we were awoken at 12:00 on the last night of our stay there to the very strong smell of marijuana. I called the front desk to make them aware. My wife and I were very concerned about this and the welfare of our 1 year old daughter. My wife and I were feeling nauseous from the smell, and there is no telling what it made my daughter feel like. I didn't receive a call back. Upon leaving, the lady at the front desk asked how my stay was. I mentioned the marijuana situation and it seemed to be brushed off. I was told that they can't prove who did it, but "if" they found the person, they would be fined. I understand there is only so much you can do, but it made the end of our stay a worrisome, and miserable experience with no sense of...
Read moreWe stayed here three days, two nights during our vacation and loved it! In walking distance from a Marble Slab and a Baskin Robbins, side by side! Walked to McDonald's and I-Hop too, only about a block. Denny's was in same parking lot of hotel, next door. However they were having staffing problems at the time and we did not eat there. Breakfast was good at the hotel. Lots to choose from. However, this is a very busy location and people had to stand to eat waiting on tables, or take it to their rooms. Extra seating was across the hall in the pool area but no signs to indicate this. So come down to eat about 8 or earlier if you can. We had a 2 queen room with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker set up in a separate little unit with a place for luggage and to hang clothes. It was unique and functional. The room and restroom was clean and beds really comfy. The rooms were also roomy and I liked the blue patterned wallpaper behind the beds. There were unique LED strip lighting along the top of the head boards and behind the TV that gave soft lighting at night. I also discovered beside each bed was a small reading light under each wall lamp. Great to not disturb an earlier sleeper. There are elevators and I believe every room has a balcony, some with mountain views. We had mountain views over the top of the Denny's next door, and the Quality Inns remodeling going on next to that. Despite all this, it was quiet. There are two buildings making finding your room a little confusing. Parking is a bit hard. Since this is a popular location in the summer, it fills up. We had to park around the building and walk, or we just parked right in front of the lobby. Felt a little dicey the first night, but we left some items covered with a blanket in the car and all was fine. The indoor pool was crowded with kids enjoying the break from their travels. Would recommend...
