Pigeon Forge Chamber of Commerce — Attraction in Pigeon Forge

When we booked our cabin online we specifically looked for dates that the car show was in town. We couldn't find anything ( back in February) telling us there was one this weekend. We wanted to avoid the carnage this imposes on traffic and accessibility to attractions. Most tourists don't visit this area to see something we can see in our home towns several times a year. The good thing is we didn't spend any money because we didn't want to deal with the headache of driving anywhere. Instead of dining out, shopping, or seeing attractions, we simply stayed at our cabin and we to the grocery for food. Doesn't tourism drive this town? Why would you chase it away? We visit Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg twice a year because we love coming here. This is 2nd time we got trapped in our cabin because of the excessive traffic. I can assure it won't happen a 3rd time. Loved coming here and I really don't know what has happened to this town. Reminds me of what happened to Virginia Beach got terrible nasty crowds in. Now it's completely changed for the better. My issue is, and I don't know who to tell this to, the speeding up and down the main road by those cars that are like small and tires are wierd. What a mess! What has happened to this beautiful town that loved families and military people. We stay right on the main route and the noise keeps you up all night. Been coming here for years but if the craziness doesn't go away, we're done. We're from.Ohio and right now if someone up there asks me about our stay here I'm telling them it's not like it use to...

We can up for the rod run and enjoyed ourselves We were here 6 years ago and have noticed many less hot rods. Probably due to the police harassing people for no apparent reasons. They were pulling people over left and right. I understand there has to order kept. Drunk driving is one thing or crazy driving has to be prevented for these safety for everyone. Appears like this a big money raising event for the police. Not sure if we will return. Maybe you should talk with in the towns who have lost rally’s. There is always another town who would love to get the money...
