Title: Spice Express Disaster: A Culinary Catastrophe
Our recent visit to Spice Express was nothing short of a disaster, leaving us bitterly disappointed and utterly unimpressed. A group of nine of us gathered for what we hoped would be an enjoyable dining experience, but instead, we were met with a series of mishaps and mediocre service that left a terrible taste in our mouths.
To begin, our table reservation process was infuriatingly mismanaged. Despite being told by the manager that it would take only 10 minutes for our table to be ready, we were then informed upon arrival that we had to wait an additional 20 to 30 minutes. As a supposed solution, we were offered the opportunity to split into two groups, something we found both inconvenient and unnecessary.
Once seated, we optimistically placed our orders for appetizers and main courses. The appetizers arrived on time, and while they were decent, they did little to prepare us for the debacle that followed. Only one table received their main course promptly, leaving the other half of our group hungry and frustrated. Our complaints to the staff were met with empty reassurances, as the delayed main courses took another agonizing 10 minutes to appear.
The final blow came with the embarrassing state of the accompanying roti and naan. Cold and clearly reheated, they resembled rubber, and after promptly returning them, we were informed by a server that butter causes the bread to become rubbery—what a pitiful excuse! These cold, microwaved leftovers were a blatant affront to any standards of quality and were utterly unworthy of being served at a restaurant purporting to offer authentic flavors.
The audacity of the staff to suggest that this was acceptable was the cherry on top of a deeply unpleasant experience. The lack of sincerity and care in addressing our concerns was alarming. The food at Spice Express is far from worth the money; there are undoubtedly better options nearby with more reliable service and superior quality.
In conclusion, if you value your time, money, and taste buds, we urge you to explore other dining options in the area. Spice Express failed spectacularly on all fronts, and our visit will be remembered solely as a cautionary tale against choosing this establishment for a...

We were a group of 10 friends visiting the Smoky Mountains over the Labor Day weekend and decided to try Spice Express Indian Kitchen in Pigeon Forge for dinner. A few of our vegetarian friends were craving Indian food, so we placed a large two-to-go order — both veg and non-veg — spending over $330 in total.
We waited around 30 minutes for the food, but as soon as we opened the boxes in our car, we could tell something was off. The food appeared to be half-cooked and poorly prepared. Some items smelled spoiled, especially the mutton biryani, which was completely inedible. Everything lacked flavor — no proper seasoning or freshness at all.
Samosa Chaat – Tasted like stale samosa from days ago tossed with cold chutneys: no freshness, no flavor, no crunch.
Chicken & Mutton Biryani – Calling this “biryani” is bad for Indian cuisine taste. It was bland, odorless, and lacked any spice or aroma. The mutton biryani was actually spoiled, smelling rotten—we couldn’t even swallow a bite.
Chicken Fried Rice – Just plain rice and chunks of chicken. No seasoning, no stir-fry flavor. Completely tasteless.
Chicken Lollipop – Honestly, just wet, starchy blobs that looked and tasted nothing like lollipops. Uncooked and inedible.
Other Starters (Chicken & Prawn) – Barely passable. These were the only things that didn’t make us gag, but still far from good.
What we expected to be a comforting Indian meal turned out to be the most disappointing food experience of our trip. Even the vegetarian dishes were no better. The food felt rushed, stale, and not worth the price at all.
We were so put off by the experience that we didn’t touch Indian food for the rest of the trip. Really hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously — this is not the kind of quality people expect, especially when traveling and...

After hiking in the smoky mountains we had ordered take out all vegetarian food. We had ordered paneer chili, 3 plates of garlic naan, onion pakoda and so on. The restaurant was busy, so I didn't have a chance to open and check the food that was packed for us. I checked the bill and every item we had ordered was ticked. I believed these guys and went to our airbnb to have dinner. We had a huge surprise. They had packed chicken 65 or similar instead of paneer chili, onion pakoda was missing, one plate garlic naan was missing. This is unacceptable, especially for people who are vegetarians. Missing an item is one thing but serving whatever they like is something else. Thankfully one of our friend was a non-vegetarian and he confirmed that it is chicken before we even ate. We called them asking for the reason, they apologized and said that they we will refund the money for the missing order. The person who attended the call said that while packing, somebody messed up, as the restaurant was very busy. I understand we all are humans and we make mistakes but restaurant being busy is not the reason for replacing vegetarian food with meat. It is not always about the money, it is about the trust we have on the restaurant. In addition, the taste of the other vegetarian curries were also not that great.
People who are vegetarians be very careful at this place, as they dont even double check what they serve or...
