When I lived in Nashville, I would eat Indian food at least once a week. I am a vegetarian, and it is easier to find vegan and vegetarian friendly dishes from Indian, Chinese, and Mexican restaurants than it is from American fare. If I have seen an Indian restaurant, I have probably been there, and it is a staple for me.
This restaurant is something special. The service was kind, prompt, and attentive. The food was delivered quickly, but not too quickly. The bhajia tasted like it was prepared by a professional chef, and not a home cook. Everything was clean, and the restaurant decorations were tasteful. The price wasn’t cheap, but it was fair and comparable to other restaurants, costing slightly less than Spice, across the street, which is unrightfully expensive. For years, there wasn’t an Indian restaurant on the south side of the Parkway, and when I discovered Spice, I was initially excited about it. One time, however, I was Doordashing, and I had to stop there. Not only was I treated disrespectfully, like I was a peasant, but they seemed like home cooks, the kitchen did not strike me as clean, and the food did not impress me with its appearance. After visiting, I no longer wanted the food, and it wasn’t friendly to me anyway. I had the total opposite experience at Taste of India. The menu had a nearly equal amount of vegetarian and meat dishes and demarcated which was which. All of my favorites were on the menu, and the taste really blew me away. The naan was very soft and not too chewy. The samosas were fresh and had the perfect amount of saltiness. The bhajia was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and was perfectly seasoned. Everything was prepared expertly and had nice textures, to boot. It was really delightful and had surprising quality! I will definitely be back in the future. This is the best Indian restaurant that I have...
Read moreBased on other reviews, it seems like this restaurant has a huge issue handling larger groups - and based on my experience tonight, I 100% agree.
We were a group of 13, and were told it’d be a 40 minute wait, which we understood - large groups, and the restaurant doesn’t do reservation, so we waited at the patio.
We arrived at 8:20, were seated at 9:00, and given menus at 9:09 - when we were told that the kitchen closes at 9:30. I thought we should’ve received menus outside while we waited, but we ordered everything by 9:20.
The food took a WHILE - we noticed there were other groups that were seated after us that were receiving their food earlier (I think this place just works better for smaller groups). It wasn’t even that packed, maybe 4-5 other tables of 3-5 people each.
9:54 is when the food finally came out of the kitchen, and the orders were wrong and tasteless. We ordered 3 chicken tikkas, 2 of which were meant to be ‘medium spicy’ and one ‘spicy.’ We received 3 chicken tikka masalas (completely different dish) and none of them were at the correct spice level (all mild). The remainder of the food order came out with odd scattered timing and lacking flavor as well. When we told the server that one of the items was tasteless, he went to the kitchen and requested it be remade, but the chef denied it saying that the kitchen was closed.
If this place wants to succeed, they really need to get their service in order.
I understand it’s a new business, but with a first impression as poor as that, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, and will not be returning to...

From the moment I walked into this restaurant, I was captivated by its vibrant and eclectic decor. The ceiling adorned with colorful, ornate umbrellas and lush green hanging vines creates a whimsical and artistic vibe that sets the perfect tone for a memorable dining experience. The seating is spacious, comfortable, and modern, with plenty of natural light pouring in through the wide glass windows—ideal for both casual meals and Instagram-worthy moments.
I ordered the Chicken Kabob platter, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly marinated and grilled to a beautiful char, bursting with smoky, savory spices and tenderness in every bite.. not spicy. It came sizzling hot on a bed of onions and peppers, paired with fragrant basmati rice and freshly baked garlic naan—fluffy, crispy, and full of flavor. The portion size was generous, and everything tasted homemade and authentic.
The service was friendly, timely, and welcoming, and I truly appreciated the relaxing yet refined vibe. Whether you're craving rich Indian flavors or looking for a place with personality and flair, this spot is a must-visit. Can’t...
