I rented from this storage unit and I found out I got approved for a house on Dec 11th. We moved my stuff out Dec 23rd and I called and emailed this storage unit to let them know. No one answered. I tried multiple times to put in a 30 day notice and no one would contact me. Finally my boyfriend got a hold of them and they sent me and email saying they closed the account and unit for me. I got charged for January and now I am getting charged for February. I called and a girl answered telling me she would let someone know. Why could she not help me? This place is a scam. I'm on autopay and they are making sure I pay every month. I called back the next day to reserve that locker only to be told the quote I received the day before was incorrect. I still went ahead with reserving a locker and the next day received a voicemail from Daryl, the Platte City manager stating that my previous days quote was incorrect and that I'll be charged even more. I called back immediately to cancel the reservation and did so with no issues. Upon checking my credit card statement, I saw that they charged me $20. Read moreAbsolutely the worst self-storage experience I've ever had. Here's why:
-Unit was dirty and had debris. There were no less than 6 nails and screwed throughout the premises that could have resulted in tire damage.
-Their claim of "30 days free" is a lie; because they "(we) don't pro-rate", if you rent a unit at the end of the month you end up having to pay for the subsequent month, even if you move out before the 30 day mark. That's not "30 days free"; period.
-Rude office staff who couldn't explain billing; they had to call the manager. Untrained and unprofessional (put down your personal cellphone when a customer walks in!)
