My boyfriend and I arrived at this lovely hotel on 2/14/19 and regrettably had to leave on 2/18/19.
Due to a horrid experience on 2/13 at another hotel, (Red Lion Hotel in Kissimmee) with the help of Sanna and Marty from Expedia, we decided to spend the rest of our vacation at Alhambra. We called them mid-morning on the 14th, informed them that we were aware of their 3pm check-in rule, and asked if there was any way at all that we could check in just a little bit earlier. To our delighted surprise, Sara, (Alhambra Hotel Manager) told us she'd take a walk down to our room to ensure it was all ready, and that we shouldn't worry at all about 3pm check-in, but instead come right on over!
When we arrived, we met Sarah and Isa at the front desk, and we knew that we were certainly in the right hands. Not only was everyone friendly, but they went above and beyond. They checked us in, inquired about our trip and our disastrous first hotel, told us all about the area and Disney, helped us pick out pamphlets which interested US in particular, gave us simple directions to great, close dining locations, and made sure we understood that if there was ANYTHING they could do to make our stay better, all we needed to do was reach out.
We drove about 30 seconds away to our hotel room, took out the key, looked at each other pensively, and opened the door to find... CLEANLINESS! It was neat, clean, bright, spacious and smelled so fresh! Truly, we were delighted!
FUN FACT: if you're on a budget and dining out each night makes things a little tight, they have a very nice, large communal BBQ and several picnic tables on the side of the property. These are open to all Alhambra guests, and were in use while we were visiting.
The rest of our stay was perfect. Whether we were adventuring at a Disney theme park, visiting Orlando, swimming in/relaxing by the pool, or questing for the perfect tacos, upon returning to Alhambra, we were met with peace, serenity, friendly faces, and tidiness.
Sarah and the rest of the employees at this hotel truly saved our vacation!
If you're looking to vacation in the Orlando/Kissimmee area, absolutely stay at Alhambra - you will most certainly be...
Read moreThis place is about an hour and 20 min away from the Orlando Airport. If you are not renting a car I suggest that u download the Uber or Lyft app and use it. Unless you are rich and don't care about cost a metered cab ride to the Alhambra will cost you about $100.00 or more. I don't know what I was thinking, probably still tired, as I have both apps and didn't use either, EXPENSIVE LESSON LEARNED. 😱 I was only staying for the weekend for a wedding so for me the 2 queen size bed room was sufficient. Checking in and out was easy and quick with the receptionists who were very pleasant and helpful. The price per night was reasonable. The room was clean and in one of the cabinets there was silverware, glassware and dishes for use along with a coffee maker with coffee, filters sugar and creamer. There was also a small fridge for water, food etc. The beds were very comfortable with 4 pillows on each bed! (Just like at home 🙂 ) I have to say that I did sleep well. The television was in working order with cable channels. Now this didn't bother me but there is a locked door that adjoins to the room next door. It just so happened that one of my college sisters and her family were next door. If u get a room with an adjoining door just double check to make sure its locked. I loved the round shower design of the bathroom however if you are elderly or have problems with knees hips or ankles the high tub wall may make it difficult to get in even with the wall holder. There is a pool, small gym and planned activities, especially for the kids of which I really can't speak on as I did not use these facilities or do any of the activities. According to my College Brothers who were there a day before me and went to the pool, there were no complaints. If you are staying longer than a weekend and have plans to visit Disney, Gatorland etc you will need a car to get around as everything is about 30 min away. There are some restaurants close by where you can order and have food delivered, but you may still want to drive especially if you want to eat at a venue such as B. B KINGS in Orlando. Overall my stay at the Alhambra at Poinciana was very nice and...
Read moreOverall not bad for guest but I’ll stay away and my friends to due to this reasons. I won’t sponsored a place where don’t value good and hard work, this place doesn’t take care of the staff. It has a manager who makes the living hell out of the employees until they have to resign when they don’t like them, to hire friends. Management don’t have any organization, it’s a hostile environment to work, the staff most of the time are joking and wasting times in rooms and that’s including the manager, no control of the staff and free for all cause of the preferences, discrimination if you don’t join the managers group and do as told, days off and work as you pleased if you are on the manager’s group, the heavy load will go to the ones that they don’t like, the favorites can start late and go early with unfinished job but it won’t matter cause the discriminate ones will finished late with unpaid overtime without a word from the manager, while the manager inspect rooms of her people knowing that are dirty she will passed them without a care, for her is more important keeping the jokes and waste of time that the guest happy. Let’s not forget how she belittle the undervalued staff telling them how she is going to find people to do their jobs who’s been friends with her for a long time and knows what their doing, also that she’s close with HR and nothing will happen to her but unfortunately I’ve see that and it’s true, nothing...
