I enjoyed the selection of the store and was seemingly great for Christmas shopping until my good friend who pulled out his phone to check the time and put it away was accused of stealing. The lady told us she was watching on the cameras because she was waiting for us to take something. I understand being young is something that will make people unwary, like we may not have the money or may take something but the utter hostility of the worker is unacceptable and seemingly racist. Maybe they didn’t have the money at their age to be buying things, but that doesn’t make it okay to treat people trying to support smaller businesses like trash or thieves. Horrible experience and I hate places who will stereotype a customer, I was dressed very nice and was very respectful but they lack that same level of character. I have a rule that I don't buy from shops when an employee doesn't acknowledge new customers. We had already been out shopping, dressed nicely, so there was no reason to think we weren't there to shop. The worker, probably owner since it's a small business, didn't say a word to me, my husband, or my mother. She was talking with a customer but was not terribly preoccupied. What drove me to review was that the employee took out a step stool to get something for the customer and had to walk past me. Even then, walking past me and me needing to move, she said nothing.
