Velocity — Restaurant in Port Townsend

The coffee and chai latte were quite good, but I wish they would improve their process around ordering. The line location right by the door was very crowded and lead to a bit of friction with other people in line. I think one reason this happens is they don’t have their menu Items above the bar, only listed very small on the pillar halfway through the line. I couldn’t see from the back of line and had to step out of line to view my options which lead to me losing my spot in line. Seems slightly odd that the signs that would usually house the menu have a big sign displaying the location of the bathroom instead. Would be better if the line wrapped on the other side of the cafe rather than right by the door. Everything was...

As a resident I have had coffee everywhere in town and there simply is no comparison with the total experience of Velocity. The menu shows fantastic palate, and it has brought many of the products from local businesses in to supplement their fantastic coffee. They are deeply invested in the coffee and are actively drinking it alongside you, and can offer excellent, detailed advice regarding the cream or sugar you may add to maximize the bean juice. Orange currant scone and brown sugar-cardamom simple syrup latte with orange infused whipped cream. Scone was excellent. Flavors in the latte were so subtle I couldn’t really taste any cardamom, or maybe they didn’t mix it very well. Couldn’t really taste the orange in the whip cream either. Perhaps they don’t like strong flavors? It was basically a sweet latte, which was fine, but then I would have ordered a regular latte. Drink was $5.28. Total with scone was ~$9.50.
