Firstly, I've never before felt compelled to leave a negative review for anything. Sure, I'd been wronged in the past, but never to the point of feeling that I owe something to potential patrons; a public service. That said...
I called to reserve a room for a friend in need; a single mom of 2 that needed a place to stay for the night. I asked what tonight's rates were, and I was told $95 / night. I then asked if there was anything less expensive, there wasn't, and so we proceeded. I provided payment information, and reserved the room in my friend's name. All seemed fine.
About 10 minutes later I receive a confirmation email that stated the reservation was 10 days from today, and not tonight like I’d specified; a simple misunderstanding. I called back to adjust the reservation, and was informed that tonight's rate was now $20 more. I explained the supposed misunderstanding to the agent, and he wouldn't budge. I asked to speak to the manager, and the manager stated he'd need to review the original conversation's recording to verify the information. I was placed on hold.
10 minutes later he picks up and verified they were in fact at fault, but could not honor the price promised. I then asked that my reservation be cancelled, at which point he informed me my friend would need to call and cancel.
Needless to say I got a bit angry at this point. I made the reservation, they just listened to the recording of me making the reservation, yet I could not cancel the reservation that I made. Very frustrating!
Again, I seldom complain. I'll eat something that wasn't prepared right as long as it's safe for human consumption, but I'll never be fine with being called or insinuated a liar. Beyond that, if it's policy to not allow individuals to cancel a reservation on behalf of someone else, then it should also be policy to disallow making a reservation on someone's behalf. Of course I understand under normal circumstances why they'd prevent one person from cancelling another's reservation, but they'd just reviewed the phone call in which I made the reservation.
In fairness to La Quinta, I called corporate and they cancelled the reservation without issue. It's only the local faction that gave me resistance.
There's a possibility all the wrong stars aligned today, and this may be a unique situation, but is enough for me to never consider La Quinta for anything beyond an exercise in idiocy.
AND if you're considering a stay in Pueblo, there are many nice hotels in the area that aren't La...
Read moreI stayed here for a week, was in room 110. A deluxe king. Everything with this stay went so smooth! Check in was flawless, quick 2 minutes. The agent was so friendly and nice! Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was nice with big mirrors. Toilet paper was actually kinda decent…. The sheets were clean and maintained. As well as the room and hotel in general. It’s not perfect. Remember your paying for a budget hotel. The mattress I trusted was clean as they had a whole zip up mattress protector on it and then a fitted protector over that. My only complaint with the bed are the 5 small pillows. Would prefer 4 standard. Seems to be something with Wyndham and not the hotel itself….. also the mattress is more firm then I prefer. But it was comfortable. The fridge and microwave had a cute closet they hide in. The staff were so friendly and polite! During check out today, there was a guest being extremely rude to the desk agent and the agent held it together. I could tell she was biting her tongue (I felt so bad) I ended up barking at the customer because she was being so disrespectful and the agent was being so nice and patient! Breakfast is beyond simple. Do not get your hopes up for a full buffet. My only complaint about the hotel is the couch in the deluxe was shot and so completely uncomfortable I couldn’t sit on it. So next time I wouldn’t spend the extra for it. WiFi speeds were awesome for a hotel. I usually saw 150/30. Which was awesome cause I like to game at night. Overall, I spent on average $103 a night including taxes. I think it was worth it for the most part. For those complaining in the reviews. It’s not a Hilton or Marriott. Your getting what...
