We stayed here several nights. We really enjoyed the location of this hotel. It is near restaurants like Cracker Barrel, I-hop, and a few others that are local. I think one might have been Oriental and the other Mexican, but since we didn't go there, I am not 100% sure. Sam's Club is just down the street and other stores like Wal-mart and typical strip mall stores are conveniently located not too much further along the adjacent street. After driving on the highway for long hours, it was great to be able to not have to use the highway to get to everything. The hotel was close to where we needed to be and we will keep it in mind when we visit Pueblo again.
The hotel is located on a corner with a street light. The noise is minimal with the exception of sirens on occasion (hospital nearby? I am not sure). The hotel is clean and the rooms are a good size with a microwave and refrigerator. (Please make sure you adjust the temperature as we did not and our veggie snacks and some food items froze over night. Of course, we have never adjusted any hotel fridges before, so I didn't anticipate having to adjust this one.) Also, the fridge was noisy our first night. Thankfully, we were too exhausted to care. My husband slid it over a bit the next morning and it stopped.
The lobby is small but cozy. The hotel staff is polite. The breakfast area is clean and the breakfast lady, Elizabeth, was very nice to ask us if we needed anything more before she closed up the area. We had eggs, sausage links, biscuits, yogurt, and juice, which were all good. My eldest daughter mentioned that the juice was not watered down at all like it seems to be in some hotels. There are other items like coffee and hot and cold cereals, whole fruits, and waffles, which we did not have, but just as a matter of preference. We only ate breakfast there once as we had breakfast with family all the other days we stayed in Pueblo. We did not use the pool, but could see down into the pool area from the breakfast area and it looked just fine. I didn't notice any recycle bins.
The hotel room itself: There are two floors. We stayed on the second floor. The hotel was quiet throughout our stay, except for sirens on two occasions. The beds were comfortable, toiletries are fine, tv and wi-fi were fine. Bathroom was clean and in working order. We really liked the separate sink from the rest of the bathroom. The bathtub/toilet area was extremely small compared to what we are used to, but it worked. The hotel is L shaped with entrances/exits on each end and the main lobby in the middle. We used all the entrances and exits depending on where we were able to park. Even with handicapped parking plates we often had to park further away on the lot, which has a small incline. My husband just dropped us off and found parking further down the lot. Parking is at a premium so get back early each night if the small incline matters to you. Check out is 11 am. Noon...
Read moreWe were checking in late, 11ish. We couldn't pull through the front check in loop. The front desk had 2 friends in the way. They had just finished smoking. They were both leaning over the front desk, still visiting with the employees. Still smelling like smoke. Than we walked to our vehicle. The visitors followed us and went back to their car, still in my way, in the loop. They both sat there and smoked more cigarettes. This is so aggravating because the parking lot was 100% full. I needed the loop to turn around. We are both handicapped and my husband has glaucoma and is blind. The front desk told me to park and go in the side door. We struggled with all our luggage. We couldn't unload the car in the front, because the smoking visitors would not move. Well....the keys didn't work. Back to the front desk, smokers are back leaning on the counter visiting again. The front desk employee kept trying to type in our room number with her giant fingernails. I worked gor Choice Privileges, and I know you have to touch the numbers with your finger not your acrylic nails. Finially she got it to work. My husband was still standing at the side door waiting. When my key is ready, she handed it to visiting man who handed it to visiting smoking lady, who than handed it to me. 3 or 4 people touched this key. I am sick, my body does not make immunoglobulin. I have zero immune system. Now I get to worry about the visitors that wouldn't keep their 6' distance and put their filthy smoking hands on my key. Horrible experience. The pool was drained. It does not say that on the app. The room was clean and normal. The experience would have been fine, if the smoking visitors would have left. I think it was the front desk's boyfriend. I am still...
Read moreWe stayed in 2 rooms total for 6 nights. Both rooms 1st floor 15 feet from a very busy road. NOISY!!!!!!! 1 of the rooms had a a pungent urine smell. 1st night I asked to move to other rooms. I was told I should have asked 6 months ago when I booked the rooms. All the regulars are staying in the good rooms. I guess even though you book 6 months ahead of time you still get the worst rooms in the hotel. The 1st night I complained of the urine smell. I was told maintenance would be notified. The 2nd day I mentioned the urine smell. I was told maintenance would be notified. I never saw maintenance. I asked a maid about the smell and she sprayed cleaning solution all over the air conditioner unit & the carpet close by. This helped for approximately 2 hours. I found the maid again & she left the spray bottle of cleaning solution with me. I sprayed every 2 hours to make the stench tolerable. Breakfast is barely continental. At checkout I was asked how the stay was. I said noisy & there's a stench in one of the rooms that reeks of urine. I was told maintenance would take a look at it. Nothing else! I asked if maybe they would try & make the stench right for me. She said how? I asked for 1 night to be taken off the bill. She appeared appalled, but said she would run it by the manager. This mourning the manager called me & said he was taking 70% off 1 nights stay. At least that's something. Oh yea. I guess the state fair was in town. 2 nights straight the room beside had 4 adults & 4 kids staying it. The signs specifically say "Max...
