We just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel. We drove to Boston from Nova Scotia, arriving in the late evening on Thursday night. We had booked it because of the easy access to the Red Line and included breakfast. It is a newer hotel so we also expected it would be in great running order. The hotel is a nice looking hotel and beds were comfortable.
Difficulties started right at arrival. We were greeted by unwelcoming staff who made it appear that we were inconveniencing them and they would prefer to be anywhere else but working at this hotel. We checked in and paid for 5 nights of parking only to then find out that there were no parking spaces available. Staff basically shrugged and had no other suggestions for parking and then instructed us to park in one of the designated accessible parking spots!! Breakfast was chaotic every morning and got worse throughout the stay - 1 toaster with only 1/2 of it working so the line for toast was insanely long, items not kept stocked, waffle maker working some days and an out of order sign other days, same for the pancake maker, batter for waffles and pancakes usually was unavailable and staff didn’t acknowledge guests when they advised of items being unavailable, plates and cutlery unavailable and coffee was not even kept available. They stopped stocking items completely and closed the doors halfway 30 minutes before the end of breakfast. The quickest response we saw was when staff shut breakfast down promptly at closing time…movement was fast for this. On Saturday we returned after being out all day to a room that had not been serviced at all and the safe that we requested to be fixed still not fixed. We called the front desk to let them know and were then advised that rooms are only serviced every 3 days…our room had been serviced on our first day and there was no mention of rooms not being serviced daily. Available parking was problematic the entire time. I requested a refund for parking which was accommodated by that particularly helpful and pleasant staff member. There was a fire alarm at 3:45am one night. Absolutely no guidance by staff on getting out of the building or where to go. Chaos trying to get back up to rooms afterwards due to only 1 working elevator and stairs being unavailable to take back up to the rooms. The next morning they didn’t even bother to extend breakfast time to accommodate guests after being woken and up at 4 am.
Overall, the only positive I can say about this hotel is the close proxy to North Quincy station. It is very unfortunate as it has the potential to be a...
Read moreGenuinely the place is in a nice, decently quiet area. It’s a bit far from downtown Boston so if you are planning to go there a lot, keep that in mind. There is a grocery store and restaurant 99 next door so at least you have something to go to real quick.
I had a decent stay but I had some genuine concerns that bothered me. One is cleanliness, after I requested assistance to clean up someone’s coffee spill right outside my door (I can’t drink coffee - important to note since the staff assumed it was my spill), they sent someone to clean it up and the guy just wet a paper towel with water, wiped it up, handed me fresh towels and left. I was shocked that I didn’t call him back so I cleaned up the spill with my wipes instead because my room smelled like coffee still.
Concerned at that I began wiping down all the surfaces each night after housekeeping came in and noticed that they weren’t wiping down anything even when I left areas devoid of items so I spent time just wiping down things the whole time.
The staff was ok but definitely can tell that they didn’t even like working there. It clearly shows.
Breakfast was ehhh…the eggs didn’t hardly have taste to them, bacon was overcooked and I think the only thing decent were the potatoes.
The room, ok while I liked it, I have an issue with the bathroom, particularly the shower. Number one the shower doors are poorly designed that the water can easily slip between them which made me notice water damage that was there previously. Second, there were literal cracks in the shower itself that were not sealed. They weren’t small either.
Overall ok place. Wont stay again. Had better service and rooms at other holiday inns. For being a newer hotel, I expected a bit better at least...

Other than location to everything we needed, our experience thus far has been sub-par. The “suite” we reserved was abysmal. The couch looked like it came from Salvation Army. There are absolutely no lamps or lighting in the living room area. When we asked that they send someone up to show us how to turn on lights, the maintenance man tapped on the TV screen and basically said we should get our lighting from that and a square light in the ceiling that was about 3x3”. Mind blown. No closet to speak of. About four hangers. Bathroom lights didn’t work. So we moved to a room with two queen beds. It was better except the sink stopper was permanently down and the sink stopper had to be manually lifted by each of us if we wanted the sink to drain. We asked for hand soap in the bathroom since it was 100% empty. It took two whole days to get that.
Housekeeping is a joke. Caring for my slow 92 year old mother takes times. She is slow so we often didn’t leave until 2 each day but we always let them know that we were leaving and room could be cleaned and beds made. Not once but twice we came back and the room wasn’t touched. They took dirty towels but never made beds. My mother made the mistake of leaving $20 yesterday to cover two days thinking it would get better. They took the $20 but didn’t take care of us today.
Last night we came home around 10PM. There were no parking spots. Not one. They told me their overflow parking was down at the Stop & Shop (grocery store) so I could park there and walk back from there, alone in the dark. Literally can’t make this stuff up.
