Wow! What a fabulous technician I had !It was my privilege, of experiencing her work and it was Amazing! If you get an opportunity to visit the “Kelly’s Spa” located in the Historic Mission Inn, in Downtown Riverside CA, do yourself the favor of getting a 50 minute healing massage. Every patron is treated with respect and dignity no matter what walk of life they come from. I arrived within 10 minutes of my scheduled appointment, (which I don’t recommend, be at least 25 minutes before) and was immediately taken by a hostess to the Ladies common room where I was given a locker that contained a luscious white terry bath robe and slippers, then I was shown through the entire room where I was able to disrobe in preparation for my massage. From there I was directed to the Spa Lounge, and offered a variety of beverages. I chose the mimosa😁, but asked to have after the massage as it would have cut into my 50 minute massage. My Massage Therapist came to retrieve me and introduced herself. After walking a few steps to the low lighted room, she gave clear instructions to disrobe and place myself on the table, face down and cover my exposed backside. A few mins in she asked about what area I was most concerned with and directed her to the middle of my back where she immediately began to work on the tension between my shoulder blades. She softly asked about the pressure she was using several times to ensure I was comfortable. I highly recommend that everyone experience this massage at least once or twice in a lifetime. It’s a bit on the pricey side but for the experience it is well worth it. An hour later I was sipping my mimosa and enjoying the platter of fresh fruit, and a delicious truffle. After finishing my beverage I took a 15 minute Sauna where I found sliced cucumbers with ice drenched wash cloths, just outside the Sauna room. From there I retreated to the relaxing lounge where I enjoyed the quiet dimly lit room, where another fruit platter and cucumber ice water was located. The attention I received was wonderful by all the staff from the hostesses to the cashier After relaxing for about 45 minutes, I was able to enjoy the heated spa and sparkling swimming pool. So my 50 minute massage lasted about 3...
Read moreI have always come here for a wonderful experience, however in Feb 2020, right before Covid, I booked a weekend getaway with full services for my cousin and I, the guy who did my massage use a massage gun the whole time and never actually gave me a massage, I was so disappointed I didn't return, then life happened and I was diagnosed with leukemia and I missed coming here so much my family decided to gift me a package at the spa and the staff and services were amazing, however a few things I noticed, the shower next to the steam room hardly worked and the hot water came and went leaving cold water to shower with, the amenities have definitely been cut back and the mouthwash tasted so watered down that it was pointless to use, they no longer offer nuts in the relaxation rooms only fruit, they give you 2 hot tea options and they are very bitter, I didn't get the cheese plate that come with my package, but the lady got me some chocolate covered strawberries, I am not big on chocolate, but the fact she did that was kind, you get access to the pool and hot tub, but since you share it with the hotel guests it is hard to get a sit and I went alone, then as I was leaving I was charged $20 for parking, they no longer give you free parking even after spending $500 in services and no one told me anything about only getting a discount. I was taken a back, but again it is nothing negative on the staff, they are doing their jobs, but definitely can tell ownership cutting back. I do have to mention the woman and the woman's real. I believe she is the older Mexican lady, but if not mexican, please accept my apologies. However, she truly made the experience relaxing. She was on it and constantly asking, if I needed anything, making sure it was comfortable. She truly was the rock star. She even asked if I was celebrating anything which the staff at the front desk didn't even ask, I was celebrating my birthday, beating leukemia and making it through...
Read moreUpdate: I would like to update this review. I reached out to the spa direct Summer and she was more than happy to rectify the experience from 12/30. She did admit that the spa is undergoing some changes, but she wanted to make sure I had a chance to enjoy the experience that I was originally booked for. Summer reached out to me in a timely manner and made sure that everything was coordinated flawlessly. Thank you Summer for your attentiveness to this matter and showing appreciation to your long time customers. My service today was excellent and just what I expect from Kelly's Spa.
I have been visiting the spa since 2021 and I have never had any complaints until now. This spa has obviously been experiencing some difficulties over the past several months with the booking system, front desk staff, and overall customer service. When booking the front desk phone rings and rings. It takes multiple calling attempts before anyone answers. On the day of my service I sat in the lounge for an hour waiting before I was told that they couldn't even locate me in their system. Shocking! No problem charging my credit card though. The inadequacies of your front desk staff need to be rectified immediately. The "manager" offered me a subpar apology without any attempt to rectify the situation in an acceptable manner other than offering me a broken up service experience or a discount off a future service. While I understand businesses experience issues from time to time, what makes the difference is how you treat your loyal customers. Also, your staff failed to inform that your hotel is super busy with limited access in December. I should've been instructed on how to access parking as to not to incur additional parking fees! When I tried to call to ask before paying to park, you guessed it, no one answered the phone! What a joke and not at all the level of service I expect from a luxury...
