Mokkoji Shabu Shabu is a standout hot pot experience that combines fresh ingredients, a warm atmosphere, and unique touches that elevate the meal. From the moment you walk in, the modern and stylish interior sets the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. One of my personal favorites is their garlic shrimp—perfectly seasoned and cooked to enhance the flavor of the broth. The high-quality meat and fresh vegetables also contribute to a wholesome and satisfying meal.
A unique highlight at Mokkoji is their signature chili sauce, served in a dropper bottle. This thoughtful detail allows diners to precisely control the spice level of their broth. Just two drops of this fiery sauce are enough to transform the flavor, adding an intense heat that’s both delicious and exhilarating. Even as a spice enthusiast, I find myself marveling at how much flavor and heat this little addition can bring.
Whether it’s the high-quality ingredients, the flavorful garlic shrimp, or the personalized touch of their chili sauce, Mokkoji Shabu Shabu delivers a memorable dining experience. If you’re a fan of hot pot, this is a place you don’t want to miss. Just be careful with the chili sauce—a little...
Read moreAfter reading the review from this restaurant I want to try out this place. It’s my first time coming here. Btw we got there around 7pm and 20 minutes later two people came in suddenly got their seats before us. Beside that I never got an explanation from my server if he ask me it’s my first here or would you like to explain how we order your food. I order a spicy broth with beef belly. The spicy broth nothing special just water with spicy powder. I thought I would have more flavor in the broth and vegetables was okay. As soon as I got my broth and meat. I dip my meat and bowl of broth was cooking like other patrons. I had to as the server if I need to turn on something the bowl. Luckily a patron explain there is a setting on the table to cook your bowl. I would rate this place 4/10. I won’t come back to this restaurant. I would rather try a traditional hot pot restaurant. Also they forgot my noodle before I...
Read moreI got the original broth and it was basically water with a hint of onion. I've been here twice. Once a few weeks after it's opening and about a week ago. The food is over priced and the broth is 2/5. Meats are 3/5. I ended up having to order a flavor to be added to my original broth to get some flavor cause the meats weren't adding any. I really enjoy shabu shabu, but this is hands down the worst shabu shabu place I've ever been too. Both times, service wasn't the best, and food is overpriced and flavorless. Save your money and drive out to better places in OC, they're cheaper and better quality of items, and also more quantity of items. Btw it was $5 to add the flavor of spicy pork broth to my original broth. That's a rip off. The server explained that the OG broth is the base for all the broth (which makes sense, and is common). But to upcharge that much extra for a small flavor add on, it's better to...
