We stayed here for the convenience of shuttling to a very early flight for my first big vacation of my life. Unfortunately there's nothing convenient about getting attacked by a disgusting bed bug INFESTATION the night before an international flight. My husband can't go in the sun because his bites are so painful. He fell asleep the instant his head his the strangely lumpy pillows and I was up reading for a bit. As I was laying there I suddenly noticed a little speck moving across the sheets and I quickly realized they were all over us. In the short time we were there, my husband sustained over 15 painful swollen bites all over his body! Thank god we got out of there when we did. I think if we had slept a full night in that bed, we'd be going to the ER the next day instead of our vacation. We had to switch rooms at 12:30 at night and spent the rest of the night completely unable to sleep before our flight as we were so disgusted with the bugs in the other room and the itchiness. It's been 3 nights since we stayed there and I'm on vacation outside the US just seething at the whole situation and watching my husband try to rally when he's in such a state of pain and itchiness. Staying at this hotel was the worst decision and I'd take it back 100x if I could. I'm only attaching a photo of the biggest bug we killed but there were many many more. P.s. The front desk staff were extremely professional. Ladies if you see this please apply for jobs with better organizations. You're better than that place! P.s.s. the whole reason we stayed there was because of an advertised shuttle to the airport straight from the hotel. I can't say I saw that ad but my brother mentioned that was why we were staying there so it could be our misunderstanding. Regardless, when I checked in they said there was no shuttle and to just use the yellow airport shuttle company which is apparently their sister company and a 3 minute drive to the airport parking. So that just adds to the frustration of the whole situation. If you think you'll get a shuttle here it's sorta a bait and switch. Just skip the hotel and use the airport parking shuttle.

This hotel is disgusting. The front desk was very polite, she changed our room for us. Honestly all the rooms are gross so just take the first one you get. Room 1 (230) the sheets were filthy and clearly used, but the bed was made (big crusty spots). Room 2 (236) has mold all over the bathroom ceiling and door. The window is broken and doesn't shut but the storm window keeps the cold air out. It smells a little like faint cat pee about mid-way into the room by the sink. Weed smells for sure, probably to make the stay more palatable honestly... You have to hold down the toilet handle to get the toilet to flush. The tub in room 1 was spray painted, but some of the paint had been scrubbed away. Room 2 the tub doesn't drain so we stuck a rag in it. The towels are threadbare and gross Pretty sure the conditioner bottle that was left was used because it was almost empty. The pillows are ridiculous small. One pillow isn't enough, but somehow 2 pillows is too high and uncomfortable. They seem more like a small accent pillow or couch pillow. The phone doesn't work so I guess it's just in the room for show. The nightstand drawer wouldn't close, was filthy inside and has a huge spot of sticky residue on the outside (like someone tried to remove a sticker and left it). Also someone folded up their boarding pass and stuck it under the corner to stop it from wobbling. Someone changed the lobby computer which is hilarious because it sums up the whole experience nicely.

We arrived the day before thanksgiving to visit my girlfriends family. With in seconds of walking into the room we realized they gave us a room with unchanged sheets. The maids just made the bed after the last guest left but never bothered to change any of the sheets. They were covered in fresh miscellaneous stains. We took pictures of this. The room had a strange odor too. We immediately went to complain about this. When I started to explain the issues I was told to “stop talking” because the other guests who are about to check in can hear me, she then said she will have the room cleaned. I refused this and asked for a refund, she never once apologized once for the inconvenience or unprofessional nature of the whole situation. She then blamed us for not giving them a chance, as if what the pictures show isn’t enough she wants to blame us. She smirked and laughed under her breath at us condescendingly as she tells us she’s not a maid and it’s not her job. At this point I just got my money back and went next door. Terrible service. Will never visit again. Do not recommend at all. Olivia at the front desk is unprofessional and rude. Terrible customer service

Best in class. HANDS DOWN. I've been a business traveler for almost 20 years, and on top of that I've been a customer all my life, and a customer service professional nearly 25 years. I know every place and every person has "bad days", and nothing is ever perfect, no matter how juch you paid for it, yet im keenly aware the customer is always right * in their head*. I give that disclaimer to establish perspective for this review. I bounced around and tried various DTW airport hotels for almost a year. Poor service experience, lack of consistency in the product and cleanliness cost them my business every time. Mold, dust, pet hair, sitting water, poor ventilation, abhorrent sanitatio. I've tried 2-4star properties, and the Baymont wins best in class awards over them all, Their product/staff is the most consistent. I'm here 1-2 nights per month, down from 5+ in the past. The evening staff knows me by voice (or caller id) when I call to request pickup from the airport. I wait to check in until everyone else in the lobby has done their high maintenance thing and im always greeted warmly and thanked for my patience. we quickly catch up like old friends. I always thank them for being so kind, and efficient. A luxury not afforded by many hotels in the area. After traveling all day its glorious to have kindess and prompt care given in return. The room is always tidy in a predictable way, and when possible they always place me in my favorite room, which for someone who travels frequently makes you feel a little more at home. Theres a fridge and a microwave in every room, never has either been soiled or nonfunctioning on my arrival. Theres a guest laundry, that I've also never observed in poor repair and occasionally use. Theres an iron and ironing board in each room, towels always clean and precisely placed. Bed clean and tightly made. The shuttle situation can be a little intimidating in the morning, lots of people with lots of luggage in the earliest hours. On several occasions i have foregone waiting and taken an uber. And truly that is my only complaint. Shuttle is nearly always on time departing the hotel but without a signup sheet sometimes its every man for himself.

In a nutshell, the staff is great, the rooms are clean and functional, the shuttle is timely, the breakfast is free, and u accumulate Wyndham rewards...

I checked into this hotel for a seven night stay on Monday 8th of January when I came to Michigan from the U.K. to visit a friend, who unfortunately was unable to let me stay as a guest at his home in Belleville and I have to say that I have been more than delighted with my time here so far. I found my room to be very clean and my bed was very big and comfortable and I thought that the price was less than what I would have paid for on just the parking at Detroit airport. I think that the breakfast buffet is good and they always provide a nice variety of continental foods, as well as a hot option, every day. They also have a great free shuttle bus service, which is prompt with getting their guests to and from the airport. However, the biggest thing that makes this hotel a great place to stay, which I found perfect, is the extreme helpfulness and courtesy of the staff and in particular a girl called Christina Grey. When Christina had discovered that I arrived in Michigan without any luggage, because it never made the connecting flight from Amsterdam, she went out of her way to make sure that I got it back, even though she didn't know me personally, when she could see that I was upset. On Tuesday morning, after I had spent my first night here, Christina spent an impressive three and a half hours on the phone to the relevant authorities, trying to locate my luggage, after she had just finished an eight hour night shift. Christina also got me moisturising cream and razors, as I did not have all of my toiletries with me. Eventually, my case arrived on Wednesday night when I was out with my friend, but I am sure that I would have waited longer if it had not been for Christina's efforts. In conclusion, I would strongly recommend this hotel to my friends and family, if they were considering staying here and I would definitely stay here again, if I needed accommodation, if I visited my...
