When we entered the room,1st of all, the odor of a musty mold smell filled the air. It was horrendous. At this point after a 10 hour delayed flight travel day we continued to put our luggage in the main part of the bedroom area, then we checked out the bathroom to see what we were in for. Sure enough the bathroom was disgusting, as we stayed in the bathroom we closed the bathroom door and saw behind the door, what was no surprise to my wife and myself was dirt on the floor where the cleaning maids DIDN'T clean for who knows how long. The toilet was very outdated as it was an old cheap style low boy toilet. The bathroom was just totally nasty looking. As we went back into the main bedroom area you could see that everything was old and out dated. That room had, oh my gosh old nasty carpeting which I'm sure contributed the the musty smell in the room. The main contributor to the the musty smell in the room was coming from a familiar smell to me because I have smelled this odor many times before, me being in the heating and air conditioning field for over 30 years. This smell is caused by mold spores growing inside the A/C units evaporator coil and in the water drip pan, due to years of a non maintained and internally cleaned A/C unit. The room was so disgusting that I slept with my clothes on, and my hoodie covering my nose because of the (unbearable) mold smell coming from the A/C unit. After 4 hours of not being able to sleep because of the smell, I told my wife, lets get the (blank) out of here I cant stand it anymore. She agreed and we got out of there with (no sleep) as fast as we could. Oh by the way the sheets looked laundered but they did have small black spot stains on them. My wife and I agreed this was the worst hotel experience we have ever encountered, and we are...
Read moreI reserved a handicap accessible room on April 5, 2024. I confirmed with the hotel twice -- once on May 1 and again on June 1. I am disabled so it is imperative that I have a handicapped accessible bathroom. Every time I talked to someone I was told that "yes, you will have a handicapped accessible room." When we arrived the evening of June 6, we were dismayed to learn that "all the handicapped rooms were out of order." How is that possible? Then, the clerk had an idea and she gave my daughter a key to a nearby room (I believe it was room 129) and told her to check it out. My daughter opened the door of room 129 and discovered that there was a man asleep in the bed! She returned to the front desk and the clerk gave her another room key and told her to try that room. Fortunately, that room was not occupied and it was minimally acceptable to us, so we took it. On the plus side, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The negative was that I was unable to use the shower because there were no grab rails. My "morning shower" consisted of using a wet washcloth as a sponge bath. Also, the u-shaped interior door lock broke off in my hand! We felt uneasy the entire time we were there. I had a second reservation several days later, but canceled it after this first exposure to the Comfort Inn. Very...
Read moreOur room was filthy. The tile areas were covered in dirt so much so that our shoes and luggage wheels left tracks on the floor. It was sticky to walk on. The bathroom had old used shampoo bottles from the hotel on the floor next to the counter, so it was clear the attention to detail was lacking 100%. There was a strong odor throughout the room so we had to open the window. The beds had a weird plastic bag on the box spring that was sticking out and super unprofessional. The room was notable smaller than the hotel photos showed, so either there was creative editing on the photos or it wasn’t the same size room. We didn’t have room to open a medium sized suitcase ( 24”) on the floor and still walk around it, let alone two suitcases. The shower tub was extremely slippery even to the point that the non-slip strips placed on the bottom didn’t help. And it didn’t help that the tub wasn’t level and was on a slight decline which made it even easier to slip.
All in all, I wasn’t expecting much from an airport hotel and this Comfort Inn, but based on the price and photos I was led to believe it would be a far better experience. Definitely will not be back or recommend this place to anyone. Although the front desk staff were kind in person and when I called over the phone to ask about the...
