UPDATED (return visit):
My initial review before was two years ago; I’ve now returned to the same hotel, again as part of a park/sleep/fly package. This time around my visit has been much better! A very polite and well-mannered gentleman helped us check-in, the room we were assigned was nicely cleaned and inviting. No issues with tv remote this time around, so my son is happy! But the best improvement is that you now park AT the hotel; this is something I prefer greatly rather than squeezing my vehicle into a massive parking lot where it’s more likely to be damaged. Kudos for the change in policy! Again, the Bob Evans restaurant next door is super convenient for a satisfying meal. I’m upgrading my initial 3 star review to a 4 😊
——————— Original Review: ————————
I booked this hotel as part of a park, sleep and fly package. The clerk and the front desk upon arrival was a young man who was friendly and upgraded (apparently) our room for free to one that was supposedly bigger than what I was getting. We ended up on the third floor and as soon as my 3 year old and I got off the elevator it was noticeably frigid! I cranked the heater in the room as soon as I got in and started to settle in. I think housekeeping could have done a better job and paid a little more attention to detail, but overall it was acceptable condition. I had a problem with the tv remote as it was not working. I called down for new batteries and was instructed to come to the front desk for new ones. The lady at the front desk gave me a new universal remote instead, I returned to my room and it still didn't work. I went back and was given 3 more remotes to try. Nothing worked. The third time I went down I was lucky enough the maintenance man was behind the desk and she asked him to come give us a hand. Within moments of him coming up to our room after getting a remote code, it was working and my toddler had entertainment! Kudos to him, but I wasn't happy with the runaround up and down the elevator. This was a very minor inconvenience. The location is ideal! The parking lot and shuttle service is directly across the road, in fact I can see all the action from my room window. Bob Evans restaurant is a short few steps away and my son and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal there! The server was super friendly too. Perhaps it's normal for some park and fly services, but this hotels system is different from my last experience. Last time I parked at the hotel and was picked up by a shuttle. This time, I have to pack my car, pack up my son and then drive over to the lot to park and then get on a shuttle. I guess I get to decide when I wanna go? The room was well furnished, nicely decorated and the bed was comfy enough. I would recommend for the simplicity of the location, it's a good price, you get what...
Read moreOur reservation was Thur-Mon. It was the hotel we chose due to being close to the Airport and all the stadiums. Flew in from california. Total $300.00. Young man at the front counter was nice but young and unsure of what he was doing. First night we had to ask for more towels because there were only 2 in the room, the lady at night says you have to come down and get them hmmm ok so down My daughter went to get them. Friday the cleaning service came we said we were leaving for the day and she said she would be back to clean. Trash can was not emptied no big deal beds were made and dirty towels taken out. They have a card you place on your pillow to have beds made and towels need to be placed in tub to be taken. We take a shower and the drain is backed up and hair is coming up into the tub disgusting. Bring it to the front counter attention no manager on duty. No let us switch your room nothing. Sat we get back late evening and need toilet paper we had to go get a roll downstairs. Today sunday we placed the card on the bed towels in the tub like they say and leave to a game. Come back to both room cards deactivated and have to go back down to the lobby to see what the issue is the young lady fixes the issue and I bring to her attention the room situation she said manager comes in at 8 to 430pm which doesnt help me when we are leaving at 5am to Toronto. She said she would place notes bedsheets not changed towels in tub and alot of hair sitting in the tub. She hands me towels now for the 2nd time and I come back to my room. I decided to call the customer care line explain to the man on the other end and he says customer care closes at 10pm takes my statement and number and says someone will contact me. I have a reservation For their travelodge hotel in Toronto and am terrified what will go wrong. This place is close to the airport, staff could show some courtesy and interest in customers bringing the concerns nor do they want to help. This cost me $300+ and I dont think I will do it again. I wish I could post the...
Read moreDON’T book this hotel! One of my worst experiences in the hospitality industry. It is a big shame! I traveled from Chicago with a friend in my car to Dearborn, and as I arrived at the hotel, there was nobody to be found at the front desk, and the lobby was left unattended for significant periods of time. The hotel attracts people who kept catfishing my friend and me, and it was pretty terrifying how pushy the other attendees were in this hotel. With an unattended front desk to maybe try to control and serve who were in the lobby, it was pretty clear what type of a place we happened to book in. Just entering the hotel made us feel unsafe and quite scared of anything we might run into. The rooms look much smaller and more unpleasant than in the pictures. The room had a pungent musty odor, and I felt it was never ventilated before. Essential items were missing, and we had to call the front desk for 10 minutes for toilet paper and clean towels. It turned insane when we found out that we were booked a room EXACTLY by the construction site where drilling and continuous hammer knocking woke us up at 7:00 am in the morning. We didn’t book a hotel in the middle of a busy season, and when we asked to be moved to a different room to continue sleeping in peace, they claimed that their hotel was a full house and refused to work out any other option for us. Two days of uneasiness and discomfort and waking up to noisy construction gave us an ugly experience. I booked for two days, and with one day left before leaving, we decided to go through it however we could. The drilling and knocking started again the morning we were leaving, but it started at 6:00 am this time. We had to drive back to Chicago on the same day with less than 5 hours of sleep and thanks...
