Service 6/5 Presentation 5/5 Pho 5/5 Hibachi 1/5 Tuna tataki 3/5
The waitress was extremely kind and caring. We had a lot of questions and requests but she was very patient with us. The pho was really good considering the contents of the menu not indicating that pho was a specialty and I was very contempt with the broth. Although, it was weird to see bell peppers and lemons being served with the pho. In general, the presentation of everything was extremely cute and appetizing but the qualms I had with the sushi was the quality of the actual fish itself. It had a more than mild fishiness to it as well as a gritty texture. The applied technique of the tuna was great however. Finally, the hibachi was an extreme disappointment. The fried rice tasted like tap water, the noodles were only boiled (not stir fried nor seasoned) and the spicy mayo tasted of Hellman’s mayo.
I really think that this place has some potential to be a fine dining experience and the experience I had was ok. I’ll be coming back to try it again...
Read moreWhat a wonderful experience. We have search far and wide in multiple states for the best and most flavorful Japanese dishes and pho soup. The flavors are deep and rich. It is obvious that the chef has layered them in duplicity and expresses himself in distinguished taste. We ordered shrimp, tempura, pho, soup, hibachi, shrimp, dinner, salmon, salad, and more. We visit Japanese restaurants all over the country, and this is easily the best.
The server was lovely. They atmosphere perfect. Every bite was an eclectic journey.
As far as food on Saint Pete goes, or even in the Saint Petersburg general area, this is a clear winner The only downside would be the hours of operation closing at 6 PM. I would strongly urge management to consider opening later and staying open later, to serve the public coming...
Read moreDefinitely not Japanese or a traditional shoyu ramen. Way too much sesame oil. The meat wasn't marinated properly and neither was the egg, which was over cooked... Basically a hard boiled egg. (Free recipe advice straight from mom: Just boil the eggs for six minutes, peel and then marinate overnight in a ziplock bag with mirin, soy sauce, some sugar and sake... it's pretty easy.) Unfortunately, the noodles didn't taste fresh. I suppose they're taking shortcuts on the important things and using a lot of sesame oil to add some flavor rather than taking the time to make a real ramen. We didn't finish the meal. The waitress was pretty amazing though. She was a total joy, super professional and efficient, which is why they get two stars...
