I really don’t think to much of this place. The quality and handling of the food is definitely not up to par with full scale grocery stores. They honestly don’t do anything better than a Winn Dixie or a Publix. The gimmick as far as prices is basically that they offer lower retail price on products that are just pretty gross tasting low rung generic. And they short you on pounds of leg quarters. Give you one less hotdog in the pack and give you the obscure cuts of bacon in a pack, have really high sodium in the copycat knor sides or spaghetti sauce etc. produce honestly has the smell of mold, because it’s eatable but not the highest quality of the product. Farmers sell this grade to discount grocers. I’ve noticed also after shopping at both full scale and discount grocery stores like Walldy and all mart, That if you shop either in more bulk or for sales you nearly every time beat the price of these discount grocery stores. You eat a more varied diet to. Both Publix and Winn Dixie weekly post their prices that they beat or match for the week vs walldy or all mart also. And they usually post them in store. And they accept any competitor coupon. Last week I used a Winn Dixie coupon for 10 off 80 at Publix and I’ve used a Publix coupon at Winn Dixie. When I can get natures own for under 2 bucks when I shop a bogo and get onions that don’t smell of mold and a I get a real vidalia for 50 cents I thank my self for not shopping at aldi. Because Cracker Barrel is number one gold medal cheese and natures own has no fructose. And my cereal doesn’t use paprika as a food color. I mean you can’t even coupon in aldi and they have no website that offers online coupons. Their is really no point in shopping at this place but if you like to get no name for 1 something a bag of vegi vs bogo Birdseye steam fresh or green giant and pay more with no coupon more power to you. I shopped at all of them and all the stores are about the same. I can find other ways of cutting 15 bucks on occasion from my weekly budget rather that passing up a 2.50 tube of crest pro health after coupon vs buying a 1.69 no name tube from...
Read moreJanuary 20, 2020 UPDATE CONTRARY to my prior update, it seems that the Management has forgotten about the impression made when customers are startled and approached when leaving this store by PANHANDLERS. All it takes is a parking lot sweep once an hour, which obviously has not been done in a very long time as the PANHANDLERS are hovering all around the front entrance. If you do not wish to contribute to their habits, you are threatened or cursed. I have seen them follow single women right up to their car doors in the dark. This is a major security issue and liability. Some attorney will know just what to do with reviews like this... And that will cost Aldi more than a parking lot security program. UPDATE: It seems that this store has changed it's security procedures and the previous problem is no longer an issue. You can feel quite safe shopping at this Aldi now.
Love the new store! HATE the security issues! They allow active Panhandlers and street thugs not only to troll the parking lot, accosting every female customer in the dark at their cars or at the door.... but also within the Store, where as a 6'3" 300lb male I felt unsafe after being panhandled while shopping the aisles twice now. I might save my Aldi Shopping for the Mainlands / Pinellas Park location which is much safer,...
Read moreNice, clean store. Seldom fully stocked. There's almost always something I have to get somewhere else. Layout is like no other store in the area, so it's taken months to figure out where everything is.
Update: 2 years later and I'm questioning Aldi's aggressive expansion. Frequently under-stocked, staples missing, and poor produce selection.
This is consistent enough to lose a star. I stop at Publix weekly to fill in the blanks.
Update: the supply chain issues make my previous comments paddle by comparison. Occasionally missing a few items has now turned into gaping holes in my shopping list. I'm having to shop other stores for the handful of staple foods items that are unavailable.
2nd update (because Google keeps asking): some of the less popular items seem to have been discontinued, and the supply chain issues seem better, but still not 100% perfect. The self check-out registers are...
