WARNING!! THIS HOTEL LOOKS ABANDONED. This hotel is torn apart. We arrived at 3:15 and it looked empty. There was a crane in the parking lot, the pool is full of boxes, stuff is piled in all the rooms. We assumed we were at the wrong place. I drove away and put the address in again. It was the right place. Still the doors wide open, garbage everywhere and no one at the front desk. Now it is 4. I call booking.com and wait 20 minutes. Say this is not a hotel, it is abandoned and torn apart. They call the hotel and the hotel says there is no work being done and they will meet me at the front desk. It is now 4:30. I go in through all the mess in the front lobby and when I start taking pictures of the mess, the lobby, the person Ron? at the front desk starts screaming at me. He threatened to keep our money and not give us a room. I shouted back, give me my money and I will HAPPILY leave!! He says you are not getting your money back. I said then we have to have a room. By the time it's all over it's 5:15 and I was crying. THERE IS NO POOL, NO GYM, AND NO BREAKFAST. Go somewhere else!!! The other hotel rooms are only a few dollars more, AND THEY ARE WELL WORTH THE MONEY.

The young lady who checked us in was anything but warm and friendly so the first impression was already not great. Walking to our room we noticed how dirty the place was. Once we opened the door to our room we felt like it was a blast back to the 80's. The blankets on the bed must be at least 20 years old, the TV was tiny, the iron board had brown stains on it which catches your eye because it's right next to the door. Then in the corner was this little chair that was all tore up. Not the nicest place and the staff is anything but accommodating. They have construction going on starting early in the morning without a care for the guests paying to stay there. This was a terrible experience!

Management does not conduct business with integrity. We arrived at almost midnight to a hotel completely under construction. No pool. No gym. No lobby. No breakfast. We called other nearby hotels that we could walk to. But we were stuck by that hour. There was a smoke detector beeping all night. There was no door handle on our bathroom door. The construction began at 7 am. So we only got about 5/6 hours of sleep. And expedia as well as the royal inn management said sorry we told you upon arrival. Really? It was midnight. We had no car. Nothing within walking distance had vacancy. Avoid the royal inn and expedia.

We stayed at the Royal Inn, and it was a complete disaster. I would give it a zero if I could—this place doesn't even deserve a one-star rating. The whole experience was terrible from the moment we arrived. The carpets were filthy, the room smelled awful, and it felt like no one had bothered to clean it in ages. The place looked like it hadn't seen a proper renovation in years. Inside our room, everything was broken or outdated. The TV was tiny, old, and didn’t have any decent channels, which made it impossible to even relax. The walls were cracked, and the bathroom light was out, so we had to deal with that issue as well. I’m not even sure the bed was clean—there were stains on the sheets, which was absolutely disgusting. To make things worse, the staff was downright rude. The person who greeted us when we checked in was an absolute jerk. No professionalism at all—just disrespectful and unhelpful. If you're working in the service industry, at least try to do your job with some decency, but this guy clearly didn’t care. The Indian person who welcomed us was particularly rude, and it was clear that he had no interest in offering any sort of hospitality. It’s truly a shame that someone who works in customer service doesn’t understand the importance of a smile and good manners. The food here was another disappointment. It was poorly prepared, bland, and definitely not worth the money. We couldn’t wait to get out of there and find something decent to eat elsewhere. The whole experience left us wishing we had stayed anywhere else but the Royal Inn. The entire experience was just a nightmare. I’ve stayed in budget hotels before, but this was beyond unacceptable. The Royal Inn has some serious issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. It felt like they didn’t even try to make the stay comfortable. It’s safe to say we won’t be returning. I strongly advise anyone considering this place to stay away. The Royal Inn is a total waste of time and money, and you’re better off finding somewhere else to stay, no matter how much cheaper this place might...

I needed a cheap place to stay as I was moving to Salt Lake from Phoenix Arizona. The price was right but the experience was horrible. My stay was for 3 weeks so I can find a job and an apartment. Place was formally a Super 8. I was hoping for an early check in and if you do there is a fee. My stay was $1800 so I was not charged. No business center but they might print 1 or 2 pages from their computer. No mail can be sent only an Amazon package. No pool and fitness room was crap. Housekeeping was crap too. A few times my room was skipped. I left my trash and towels 1x with a note to leave towels and toilet paper by my door. The girl picked up the dirty stuff but left nothing at my door. But what pissed me and my daughter who was staying with me the most was we got evicted for cooking in our room. You read that right. And if we didn't leave immediately the Indian man was going to call the police. He tried to tell us this is a new hotel and cooking in the room not allowed. It was a Super 8 not new construction and didn't say anything on their website about no cooking in rooms. They also enter your room without knocking. Little do these people know I was a Housekeeper and I work in the food service industry currently. This is not you you treat someone that spends $1800. Then I was told the room would be inspected for damages the next day. What?! I was refunded $724. This place is ass. There are signs in the breakfast area that food cannot be taken to your room or to go. All they had was waffles, 2 cereals, 2 muffins, apples, yogurt, orange juice and coffee. Also 1 washer and 1 dryer at $2 per load on 2nd floor and dryer sucked. Again, got evicted for cooking. Stay somewhere else if you need a cheaper place by the Salt Lake airport. The Quality Inn has better...

The room had a wet moldy smell. There was black tar on the bottom of the toilet ughhh disgusting, we thought it was poop such a bad fix up job. nothing was dusted. There was numerous crumbs on the floor behind the tv stand and under side table. Paper was found under table and behind tv stand. Tv stand corner had a lot of wear and tear like an animal attacked it. Bathroom light hardly lit up, lots of long and short hairs were found on the bedding cover, pillows, flat sheet and fitted sheet. It was gross and ghetto honestly, my dogs were even skittish when we entered the room. All amentities were closed off/ shut down. As I already prepaid before arrival I didn’t wanna make a fuss after a long drive. I honestly just needed to get some rest. Also from outside you could see a window with a damaged screen and beds loaded to the ceiling in another room. This place was not at all appealing nor sanitary. Royal inn should be embarrassed and work on remodeling the building as the building is completely run down. Also not to mention people outside smoking near the side entry door and bugs flying in from that door and sticking to hallway walls and I mean a lot of them. I do not recommend this...
