This is what I wanted….this is what I got… This is my child’s first birthday cake. A very important time in a child’s life is their first birthday..The quality of this cake is not up to par. Especially for the establishment that they run. I definitely will not be ordering a wedding cake from here because if this is the quality of birthday cakes, I don’t wanna imagine a wedding cake… The biggest time in a person‘s life is the birth of a child the death of a loved one and marriage so I don’t understand why a first birthday cake does not give the same quality love and intention as a wedding cake.
I asked for non-cursive font because it’s my child’s first birthday and I am teaching my child the abc’s And I would like my child to identify my child’s name On their own birthday cake…
The quality of this font was Equivalent to a elementary schools handwriting level…
I spoke with Samantha today about the quality of the cake and the handwriting on top of the cake and she stated that she recommends cursive handwriting on top of the cake because it looks better and that non-cursive handwriting on cakes do not look good… I Responded with I have seen non-cursive handwriting on cakes before and they look fine if done correctly.
I was also told beforehand that there was gonna be many people working on this cake and I don’t know if that’s the problem to why the quality is so low, but I will not order anything from this establishment again.
I stressed about how important it is to have accent marks on my child’s name the O accent mark is perfect, but the iaccent mark was definitely an afterthought because you can definitely see the initial dots on top of the I , and then they went back in and put the accent mark on the i When we have multiple emails stressing about accent marks, even on the order form I even called and wanted to double check the information to make sure everything’s gonna be OK and still the accent mark was a afterthought.
Also it looks like the name and writing was squished to fit the little space in between the flowers decorations why not write everything first then decorate the flowers
Also a second thought why not stencil a name or stamp it and trace over top to get consistency I am not a baker nor decorator yet I coming up with solutions to fix those problems.
I’m not sure if they weigh each better before placing the batters inside of the pans so they can have consistency, but my bottom sponge cake was not leveled on one side I had less spongecake than the other
The icing in between the layers was too thick trying to make up for the missing sponge cake…
The taste of this sponge cake was not great It’s comparable to Walmart cake
The Quality of the cake is comparable to a Walmart cake.
I do not recommend this bakery.
The buttercream is also super thick on this cake. I don’t know if they like roll it out like fondant and then put it on here, but do...
Read moreCake Art. Not user friendly. My first experience with this place was getting a one-year-old's smash cake and a larger 10-inch cake for my family. This ended up costing me over $130. I explained my inexperience both with their company and ordering cakes in general to the lady at the counter.
I have, however, ordered a wedding cake. So spending as much for a baby's birthday as a wedding cake. I expected the same kind of treatment. A cake tasting, a nice list of flavors they have, an example book of what designs they have made.
The girl at the counter couldn't tell me all the flavors of cake they had, the flavors of frosting or filling. There was no list, anywhere. She told me to look it up on their website. Their cell phone service is poor as well so it ended up taking me waiting 20 minutes to get their website to load. All this while the gal stared at me. Then when I wanted to know how some cake flavors tasted. I had to buy their cupcakes to try them. When I requested taste their jam, one of the fillings, to try with cake a cupcake I had already purchased she said it taste like regular jam. Flatly refused to give me a smear of jam.
With no recommended flavor combinations from them I was Flying Blind. Thankfully their churro cake which I chose went wonderfully with the raspberry jam. It cut the sweetness and was wonderful. I will never say their cakes don't taste great because they do.
Then when it came to the design I had no help there either. I had a very simple Idea. I told her the colors in mind and for a basic mermaid scale look. A wall would have been more help than this gal. No additional ideas or "hey we can do that, add this here, make it really look cool"
The best part is you don't get a hello or welcome, thank you or good bye.
I have been back in the months since the party to get cupcakes. Same gal same treatment. I don't need to be treated like I'm your best friend when I walk in there. But at least not being treated with a sullen attitude and with such an obvious dislike for what you're doing. For me it's uncomfortable as hell to be in there does being stared at like that. The cookies are beautiful oh, the cakes and cupcakes are delicious and pretty. But that doesn't make up for the lack of service. And we'll just take our money elsewhere. It's a little ridiculous to charge $100 for a 10 inch...
Read moreWe ordered a superwhy character cake almost a month before my son's 1st birthday party. We made sure that they know the character and emailed them a picture of what we wanted. They enthusiastically said yes and the cakeprice was 200 usd. The day came and when we got the cake we were devastated. Superwhy looked like he just got into an accident and got his head smashed and his eyes popped out.I called in after my husband sent me the picture of the cake. They asked us to bring it back so they could fix the problem. When my husband went back they said they couldn't do anything about it since it's not their "piece". Its not their design and they are not pastry chefs. I was horrified by this reply. Only thing they can do is to remove the post - crashed superwhy aircraft on top and refund us with 35 bucks. Why would they take a job if they couldn't do it? Nobody's expecting an exact replica of the cake, but at least make it a bit more like it. The picture says it all. No attention was given to details, Superwhy's smile was crooked, the fondant linings were thinning towards its end, it was obvious that they were in a hurry in making this. Best part is, the guy my husband was talking to was saying that he hopes this wouldnt result in bashing their store and bad reviews! Money spent on buying that cake wasnt easy. And we resorted to fixing the topper for the cake on our own! WE Haven't heard anything from the store yet, I dont recommend going to this cake shop and were not certainly gonna go back EVER!!!! horrible job and wrong choice of words to use on unsatisfied...
