In response to the "Hotel Management" below you can say what you wish but the pictures do not lie. The reflection in the TV is your decor. I have also included the geo location as further proof of the date and time I stayed at this roach motel. Let's just see hwat the helath department finds when they arrive.
Infested with flying roaches. I attempted to stay at this hotel on Saturday night September 27th. I booked through Priceline, which I normally do for all my travel. We booked about 1 hour prior to arrival. Arrived at the valet and as my husband and I were unloading our luggage, a flying cockroach landed on my arm. Ignoring that we checked in. The woman at the front desk was so friendly and nice, we got our room key and went to the room. Upon entering we were hit with the stench of old motel. Very musty. We were tired and just wanted rest so we started to unpack and another flying cockroach landed on the bed and the. Flew to the tv stand. We packed back up, went to the front desk and let them know what happened and we were just going to go ahead and leave. She advised for a refund we would need to speak with the manager and the manager would not be in until the morning. We left a r ended up at the Hilton hill country which was absolutely lovely and a very clean and wonderful stay. I called Priceline the next morning and they got in touch with the hotel day manager Valerie. She advised that they check the room when we left and found no bugs. Priceline advised me to call the hotel as they denied my refund request. I did call and speak with Valerie. She said that she personally went and inspected the room when we left and found no bugs. I let Valerie know I have pictures and the front desk woman let us know the manager would not be in until the morning so Valerie could not have possibly been there. She said she was and sarcastically added “we do take brakes.” Valerie then said the hotel was sold out that night and they “held a room” for us. I let her know we booked about an hour before 9pm and they had plenty of rooms so that was also a lie. I asked for the person above Valerie and she said that will not change the outcome of the refund policy. She did transfer me to a voicemail but I have added the pictures and will report this to Priceline as hotel inside should be removed from that program. Not only for cleanliness reasons but for having such an...
Read moreI'm conflicted whether to recommend this hotel or not. It's a solid 3 star hotel, but worth looking at other options.
We booked a King Bed Suite River View Balcony (Room 230) for an excellent award price and it was great for us. However, I don't think we would return nor would stay here in a standard room for cash price.
The room we stayed in was huge and spacious, the bed comfortable and overall very clean. The two AC units worked fine for us, although loud we weren't bothered. The shower was good and had full doors that kept all the water in (which is extremely rare nowadays). Our room was quiet, because of the layout it wasn't directly next to the door and didn't get much noise, but I don't think that's true for the standard rooms. The view wasn't all that great and the balcony was tiny, barely large enough for two people to stand on.
We enjoyed the location as it's right on the museum reach of the river and about 1.25 mile walk to the Pearl. If you're looking for the downtown reach of the river or the main touristy area this probably isn't for you.
The customer service was hit or miss. Some people were extremely helpful and friendly, others not so much. No major complaints there.
The hotel parking was full every day, as others have said. However, directly connected, but separated with a fence, is a private lot that's $25 for 24 hours. We found parking here every night even when returning at midnight on a Saturday. Others mentioned the area was "shady", we didn't get that feeling at all.
Biggest complaint for us, the elevators. One was out of service our entire stay making the wait long. The other kept breaking and we were required to use the stairs. While an inconvenience for us, it could be major problem for others. The hotel staff also failed to put out of order signs on the elevators until our last day, so people would just be standing around waiting until another guest told them it was...
Read moreFrom the moment we called to inquire about a reservation our service was top notch. Alberto went above and beyond to provide amazing hospitality and ensure our travel with regards to accomodations for our family were right. This was most important for us because we chose to stay here for the Airforce graduation ceremonies. When we finally arrived we were welcomed with such professionalism and prompt service by the valet team who went on to exceed our expectations for our 5 night stay!! This was over the New Year holiday. The front desk, although very busy at times, maintained this service; thanks Adriana and Sarahi! Housekeeping is exemplary with impeccable service by Attendants like Bryanna who would brighten anyone's day. I saw housekeepers working diligently and our room was clean when we got there and throughout our stay based on the needs. Lastly, the food at the restaurant was good and waitstaff was wonderful. We even had amazing service 30mins to kitchen closing. Chef William greeted us in the lobby and made time to chat about great places to celebrate our sons graduation. We appreciate that manner of intentional kindness. That means alot when people treat customers right down to the last minute. That is true service.
We plan to stay here more often and walking downtown to restaurants was easy. Valet parking was expensive BUT compared to stays at other properties we still faired better. Also, our room was like an apartment and very spacious with a wet bar plus standing balcony.
This hotel is downtown and city center so noise is inevitable from people, nearby construction, riverwalk passersby, and nature.
This hotel is also committed to supporting local small businesses and that's a beautiful thing we support too.
I hope you give them a try. We can't wait to...
