Update 3/2022 Sometimes cheap is better. Like Costco anejo is good as Don Julio. Other times, cheap leads to frustration. Like renting a compact car. While on the other hand, cheap can be comparable like Botox and Dysport. However, the airline world should maintain a higher standard of reliability. Albeit I was only traveling from San Diego to Las Vegas, cancelling a 5 pm flight and only having a flight available 1.5 days later is insulting. I've flown to Denver several times and the flight has been reliable. Maybe because Denver is the hub. Hundreds of us were in the line for 2+ hours trying to decide what to do. Many folks were stranded. If I make a reservation today, I want my reimbursement the same day. What I don't want is to pay $500 for a different flight and airline.
Now that Frontier and Spirit have merged, it may go from bad to worse to comical airlines.
CONS Short flights are often cancelled. No snacks. No water. No media. Upcharge for everything. Not worth paying for seats. No entertainment No leg room even if you're short. No real tray. Exorbitant bag fees.
PROS Reasonable airfare. Easy check in at San Diego airport Professional employees. Clean plane. Healthy pilots. Safe flight. Easy online check in.
The best tip I can offer: Departing flights prior to noon usually don't cancel.
First, let me commend this airline for alert pilots and always a safe takeoff, āļø and landing. Another pro is that baggage has arrived on-time without incidence. Departures and arrivals are on-time.
Albeit, I am in agreement that arriving alive is numero uno and Frontier does this consistently. However, their prices are actually not the lowest because after you add all the additional fees, you may have been better off with another carrier. You will be BORED out of every hole in your body. No in-flight anything and b.s. when they say it keeps flights lower. No snacks at all! No hydration either. No reclining seats. No fun flight attendants with jokes or stories. And the flight tray complete waste of iron. I'm 5'4 and the leg room was miserable. If you are taller, don't purchase this flight. People manage-begrudingly. If you are hefty in the front or the side, you will be touching the guest next to you. There's no way to avoid it.
Also, each guests temperature is taken with a hand held thermometer prior to entering the plane cabinet. False sense of security but this delays boarding and looks comical. The most disappointing aspect a frontier is that based on the airport their hub may not have any viable food choices. The one in San Diego has nada. The one in Denver is different because it's a larger airport.
Overall 3 ā's. Safety 5 ā's. Comfort 1 ā. Value 1.5 ā's. In-flight 0 ā. Baggage cost 0 ā. Leg/body space 0 ā. Hidden fees - they'll get ya.

I'd like to tell my story today in hopes that maybe others will not have to deal with what I have had to over the weekend. Customer Service Disaster that fortunately another airline was able to help me with.. Let me begin with this past Friday. It was a customer service disaster, they do not care. Today I'm letting everyone to stop this abuse. I booked a flight leaving at 6:50pm from SAN. As a pretty frequent flyer, I was prepared and had never missed a flight in my life. Before arriving I checked in on my phone via the app. I arrived, had no checked bags, and procceded to TSA. When i arrived I was told it didn't work. I still had a good amount of time so I got in line to check to Kiosk. The kiosk would not work. There was no one at the counter. I was instructed they are on break. This line was now at least 30 people. Now it would be one thing if the agent was pleasant. The female agent SCREAMED at me and many others At this point, the line was huge due to a 45 min break with no one at the counter. The people in the line told me to go ahead as i only had about 30 minutes left to make my flight by the time the rude woman returned. Despite all of the people line insisting she help me so that I can make it she refused, Screamed at me she would not help and said I have to wait in line. I listened and waited in line After waiting though the line my flight still had not left, she tells me she will not help me and shes going to just check people in. She says she would have to have someone come from after my flight leaves. At this point I'm crying My response was "but you said you would help me" My flight leaves and someone else comes. I still had to beg them to help me. This is my worst experience with an airline. He tells me the flight is left, and I need to pay $100 they can fly me out on Sunday, which is actually the day I'm due to return. How is this fair? #worst airline ever. I took down their info and left to find something else quick. Thankfully another airline was able to get me onto another flight that was BOARDING within 20 minutes. It amazing when an airline cares. Frontier does not. In summary, save yourself the time, money and emotional abuse of flying frontier. I was sick to my stomach to have to fly their return flight back. Never again, and have filed complaints with USDOT and BBB as well as San Diego International I have never had an airline or any other business scream at me like frontier . I waited 3+ Hours for a flight, and eventually knocked on the door only to get yelled at and threatened to get the police called on me omg š They were all sleeping in the office and were extremely rude to help probably because I let them know I would be reporting to their page. I along with a group of 10+ people were waiting, probably some late to their flight while they were asleep. I asked for his badge so I could report this and he gave me a false name, āKevinā and when I asked to clarify with his badge, threatened to call the police on me after asking to just clarify through his badge and he started yelling at me, after we caught him asleep, and threatened to call the police on me. Mind you he blamed being gone for 25+ on a bathroom break. The rest of the workers finally showed up to do their job one by one exiting office and after yawning a long nap and continued to treat ME, as if I was gravely inconveniencing them after making me almost miss my flight.
Well, I couldnāt ask for the rest of the badges I was afraid to get arrested over such a dumb thing. I will be calling their CEO. After all this mess, he tells us we can just go through TSA we never needed to check with them. š¤¦š»āāļø
UPDATE * I checked in 2.5 hours earlier for the same man to tell me I couldnāt make it and he was threatening to call the police after I started to cry asking him what I can do. That man made me miss my work, seeing my family, and my pay check over his ego.
I just wanted to go home and was about to be arrested because I asked for his name to report to customer service.
I came back later after I came to my plan terminal to be told by the same man I missed it, because I was 20 min before boarding time, and I should have checked in earlier mind you he kept me at the check in for half an hour. Just look at this photo. They called police on me after just to be told Iām allowed to do this in a public setting.
I will never buy a flight through this airline until they can find people who dont have the work ethic of a 7/11 to check in. We could have missed our flights due to ego. UPDATE I missed my flight and had less time with my family that I have not seen in 6 years because of this stupid random manās ego.
Anyways Iām calling straight to the company tonight and sending this video in. I will never be flying frontier again and Iāll make sure to share this with the rest...
