We had dinner last night at the Luna Grill at Liberty Station. There were six of us and we all had something different, which was wonderful because we got taste everything. The food was absolutely amazing, but better than the food, which always makes the food taste better, was the service. It's fast casual so you ordered at the counter, grab a table, and they bring you the food. Sarah was at the cashier. So helpful with our ordering. What a wonderful attitude. So kind to my three grandchildren, my daughter, my wife and I. Bella was the server who made sure we had everything. The place was hopping. Sign of a great business. Now the food! OMG, served hot in a great atmosphere with booths everywhere excepts these big 8 seat square tables where there's plenty of room for the food. Great kids meal with chicken chunks and fries. ! Real chicken chunks, not breaded nuggets! I had the Gyro platter that had a ton of meat that was seasoned perfecting. I added the cooked shrimp skewers that had 6 nice pies of shrimp for $4.99. We shared and the kids loved it! The salmon was a really perfectly cooked filet that was great (In not a salmon fan but theirs was the best. The Pitas were so delicious. Healthy, healthy! But my favorite thing were the great sauces. Get extra! Cilantro, Tzatziki (?) cucumber, Garlic, shug(?) chili oil with pepper flashes, my favorite. Great experience! So good that it will be out Thursday tradition after drums and gymnastics every week! Sarah and Bella deserve a...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Luna Grill at Liberty Station on Saturday evening, August 1, 2020.
Luna Grill has been our go to restaurant when in the area. However, this was the worst dining experience we've had.
We ordered, were told it would take 20 - 30 minutes, and that they would bring our food to us on the outdoor patio.
After 40 minutes and seeing people that came in after us getting their food, we went inside to check. They found our food sitting on their Take-Out counter. They said our order was for take-out, not dine-in. They said they called our name when it came out of the kitchen, but you couldn't hear anything on the patio due to their radio blaring on the patio.
Issues: the food was luke warm, the gyro plate was missing the grilled tomato (they said that the grilled tomato or carrot was deleted from the menu item several months ago), my salad was barely half full in the plastic container and contained almost no lettuce greens, and the gyro meat was about half the serving as before. Finally, there were signs on the tables stating that the tables were sanitized for your protection. However, nobody cleaned any tables after customers left in the 60+ minutes that we were on the patio.
No more Luna Grill from Liberty Station for me until after the COVID...
Read moreA very pleasant surprise. First time customer for an early dinner on a Friday night. This location is quietly situated in Liberty station among and close to many other food venues stores, and businesses. The Luna Grill was not busy and first impressions once inside was of an upscale fast food place; (counter, cash register, and menu board ). The inside is well decorated, high ceilings, clean, and aesthetically set for a good meal. We ordered the hummus, one their salads and the Better Beet bowl. Ordered it with falafel and extra feta. Had one of their pilsner beers. So it was a pleasant surprise to see and order draft beer from their small selection. The meals were all plated on nice stoneware. The food was warm (pita), fresh, and very good clear tastes. The beets tasted "beety", the salad crisp, the minced almonds fresh and added the appropriate amount of taste and crunch. (See pics). This was an excellent dinner experience at a reasonable price. I look forward to a re-visit sometime in the future! Importantly and worth mention; the restroom was neat, orderly, and looked clean. The overall rating is an impressive (4.2-4.5) stars. Simple, fresh, and...
