Warning: this hotel is in literally the shadiest/ worst area of San Fransisco. To get to the hotel, you will pass many homeless, drug addicts, police arresting people, etc. - making it very uncomfortable and unsafe at night. The hotel room itself was Ok. While it looks clean, there were some rotted walls, the bedsheets had stains, the carpet was roughed down. The hair dyer was old (see pics) and had a weird smell. The shower was hard to use. The front desk couldn’t give me a proper bill so I can get reimbursed for company travel, which made it such a hassle for me. I got lucky to be in a very far room next to the front desk, which shielded me from the outside street noise a bit, but I could still hear people while trying to sleep.

When I checkin , the girl in the checkin area kinda attitude , not nice but not mean . She give me my room card and when I walk in the room is smaller than I expected but still good everything clean BUT the bathtub has something like blood stained in it , it's so disgusting. The bed sheet also has something on it . They said free wifi but it's actually not , they require password. One thing I hate the most about this place is the location, they're so many homeless around there , it was so loud out side to like the police car , ambulance. I only recommend this place when you stay 1-2 days and 2-3 people .

The environment around the hotel is not the best, but not being able to enter the lobby while checking in was not ideal. So waiting to check in with bags was uncomfortable. The rooms are dated but clean, and the beds are great. The only reason it got 3 stars inside the room is pretty quiet compared to the outside. I get that the neighborhood isn't great, but when the person who checks you in tells you that you have to "move along" while sitting outside making phone calls. The price wasn't bad, but if you are staying for more than a day, I wouldn't recommend.

Crooks. Hotel is right in the middle of the Tenderloin, which has as much history as it does challenges, yet interacting with the homeless denizens was a far more welcome experience than dealing with the staff of this "hotel". We arrived to a somewhat pleasant check in and 30 minutes later we had a woman who worked there screaming up telling us we had to leave. After informing her we were staying there and answering her followup questions she rudely told us we couldn't smoke outside our room and had to walk out to the sidewalk to which we obliged. Watch your step around the property as locals hang around drinking and pass out all along the sidewalk. The next morning we received a call at 10 and a woman told us we had to check out then .. we told her we already agreed to a 11am checkout she responded "you leave or you pay. 15 minutes later the same woman was banging on our door telling us we needed to go then accused us of smoking in the room which we did not. Then upon check out, another woman was screaming at us saying we smoked in the room. My friend tried to explain we had not, the hotel clerk said we'll you had cannibus in the room. It's California, possession of cannibus is legal and there was nothing about that in the contract we signed saying it wasnt allowed. The manager said they were going to keep our deposit because of this. This grimy, shady hotel is actively trying to cheat their guests and I would advise any and all traveller's stay far far away from this abysmal and...

We booked a room at the Alexis Park for Saturday night, with plans to run the Nike Womens Marathon yesterday. But, checkout is at 11am, and we would not be back. So we asked for late checkout. No. We asked if we could leave our bags at 6am and get them later. No. The only option, according to the manager, was to leave our bags in the lobby (this is the crappy Tenderloin neighborhood) until noon, and if we weren't back by noon he would put them in a room and charge us for another night. We asked for our money back. He said he couldn't as there is a 48-hour cancellation fee. We said we wouldn't leave without our money.

Meanwhile, we checked out the room and it reeked of cleaning products and mold. We couldn't even enter it without getting a headache. The cleaning woman said there had been some sort of infestation.

We went back to the lobby and insisted that he refund our money. We refused, again, to leave without it.

He called the police.

The police said we should try to get our money back from Expedia and that we should leave. Then he started streaming obscenities at us. The police asked him to calm down and we went outside. The police officers then came outside and said he was demanding that we remove our car from the lot. But, of course, we still couldn't have our money back.

Expedia won't give us a refund unless the hotel approves it. I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen. So we got...

The place is clean, the beds are very comfortable, and it has a great shower. The neighborhood is not bad. The hotel across the street has lots of hangerarounds that look like they could be a problem. One block north is pretty good selection of eats. The only reason I gave it such a low score is because of the management/owner. I cannot stand a person who blatantly and outright just lies. My wife called down to front desk asked for a late checkout while I was sitting beside her. No prob they gave us an extra 30 minutes. I went online and extended my stay for 2 more days. I then went down to front desk to update Keys and sign paperwork. When I get there the guy asks who I left in my room. He them tells me he doesn't want me to stay and will cancel my booking bevlcayse my wife was rude. I'm thinking when?.. he then lies and tells me she said no one else was in the room and got rude and pushy with him. Knowing he was lying I dropped my keys at the counter said a few things to let him know I knew this not to be true and went to pack. I have no idea what happened to cause this man to act like this but I do know that he was lying I told him so and he started to say something, but I tuned him out. I believe he was being judgemental in what way I do not know but they got low score because of that and l only gave them 2 stars instead of one because the room was...
