This was our 1st time taking the ferry from Vallejo to San Francisco. We used the app to purchase our tickets. Excellent views on the hour ride over, indoor and outdoor seating, clean restrooms, and fast boarding. The ride was peaceful, we really enjoyed ourselves,. We sat outside and definitely needed a jacket but it was so nice and the air was fresh. Once we arrived at the downtown SF terminal there was a farmers market with food vendors, vendors inside the Ferry building, bathrooms, easy access to transportation and tours. Took the ferry over to Larkspur from there a few days in a row. Very easy. There are ticket sales booths close to the boarding for the ferry.
