So on arrival 22 December 2024 all seemed well and clean through out the location until my roommate went to take a shower at 9:30pm and we had no water so she went down stairs to mention it and was told “I’ll fix it, give me ten minutes” by the front desk as he apologised offered a lousy 15% discount and it seemed to work fine. However, the next morning when I went to take a shower at 6:30am there was no hot water but I was already in the shower, so I made a quick decision to suffer through a quick cold shower and yes it was super cold! I get out and put on the robe the hotel room has and I went downstairs to speak about the unacceptable situation! Again a lose apology to fix it and offer another 15% discount which the first discount was never given and I mentioned that was not good enough and for him to call the head boss, owner or someone do a better offer like cover the parking or comp the room altogether as this was not acceptable especially if you know you don’t have hot water when guest’s want to take a shower. Now understand I thought we had a problem until another guest who checked in the night before had no lights or functioning toilets in either of their two rooms! In addition to rectify our problem they lied saying they would refund the room but hours later they charged us even more money in excess of 500 dollars. The only time things got resolved was when booking.com got involved! We will not be recommending this place despite how lovely it looked especially the entryway and front desk! We even gave these scammers a box of chocolate to show our gratitude to fix the situation. The hotel is listed as a highly recommended place to stay but it’s just a empty shell with nice paint! This is your warning to stay away until they do better! Updated because I notice the owner only responds to a favorable review!

I stayed for 2 nights in April. It was okay for a couple of nights, but not worth the price tag, especially if you're staying longer. I get that it's an old hotel, and it has a lot of the original features... but it seems pretty tired. My room was okay, but the furnishings and textiles were worn out. There was a big iron shaped burn on the carpet. There was also no AC, only a ceiling fan. The good news is that it's clean, the bed was comfortable and it was in a good location. It was very difficult to get in and out of the old elevator with the manual door, when you're lugging 2 suitcases to your room. Speaking of the elevator, I noticed it didn't have a valid permit (pictured), it had lapsed a year prior. Considering how old the elevator is, that made me feel uneasy about using it. The people who worked there seemed pretty disinterested in helping anyone. I had to ask front desk about the Wi-Fi, because there was no info in my room about it. I avoided the free breakfast based on other reviews saying it was bad, so I can't really comment on that. Unfortunately that's what you get in San Fran, not amazing accommodation/service for a lot of money, but it's alright if it's only for a few nights.

We have stayed at Nob Hill Hotel on 2 different occasions , the first time we stayed was for my partners birthday in december, We had a great experience the TV was not working the first night they had to come and fully repair it but other than that was good we loved the coffee shop up from the hotel the staff was great and room was clean.

Now Towards the end of January we ended up having to go back for a appointment and we decided to stay at nob hill again because we were comfortable there, There were plenty of hotels cheaper and closer to the place where we had our appointment but we decided to stay here since we were familiar Once we arrived and checked in , they decided to inform me that the Penthouse suite I booked was not ready and needed Maintenance. Should’ve been red flag #1 because why do i have reservation booked over a month early and your just now informing me its not ready when im checking in for the room and not beforehand ? But i brushed past it , Then we get into their garden room which is supposed to be the same as a penthouse room but is on the first level instead of the highest floor so we accommodated and went into that room. We get into the room and the knob for the jacuzzi is no where to be found and again the TV is non functional, We decided to let him know day off and run to the store so that way he could check it out and get us a knob for the jacuzzi . We come back from the store and they proceed to say again , That room is going to need maintenance and we will have to be moved to a different room, Mind you we just got off a flight are very exhausted and tired and here we are having to repack anything we took out to go to the next room again , It was already almost 11PM we had spent the past 3-4 hrs dealing with this already. They ended up putting us in a King room that had non of the xtra amenities i paid for. So i proceeded to ask them what we could do since this is not the room i originally booked he said we would receive and 50% discount on our first night for the hassle and if the penthouse room was ready for tomorrow they would move as back to that room but if not that they would apply 15% to the rest of the stay. They ended up never getting it fixed maintenance was working on other things and painting but could not attend to a room that was probably a quick fix . Fast forward to the day we are leaving and they proceed to say that we will only be getting 15 % off the stay not 50% off first night and 15% off rest mind you i paid almost $400 to stay 2 nights with that discount they applied it came out to $340 so i received a $60 discount , I looked up a king room around the same time for 2 nights and it was $230 so why im paying $110 over what the room actually cost when i didn’t get any of the xtra amenities i paid for is actually insane. I then explained to the worker what i was told and he proceeded to say im lying they never said that and said he would be applying 15% and nothing more. So point of the story paid $340 for a room that cost $230 and the refused to work with me on the rest despite what was said. Be careful and be aware staying here, I really wish i didn’t have to leave this review because i enjoyed it so much the first time but the second time they really treated us like my money didn’t matter i don’t think i would ever stay here again unfortunately. Also got told i was going to get a call from the manger and didn’t so i guess they aren’t worried about someone over paying for a room...

We asked for a spacious room but the room is tiny. You can just barely walk around the bed on both sides, andif you're just staying one night and don't want to unpack and put your stuff in the closet you'll have to jump over your stuff. Bed is okay. Somehow hard and soft at the same time. You can hear people walking up stairs. The bed is extremely noisy so not good for couples. Their pillows are just lumps. Good thing I brought my own. The bathroom is also tiny, but much more modern, white light instead of yellow. There is no way to turn on the shower without either being in the cold water to begin with or getting water all over the floor. The sink is super strong and if you turn it just a bit water shoots out onto your shirt, so turn slowly. The railing up the stairs looks like it was painted by a high school drama department. Their vending machine just carries soda. The elevator is scary as hell!! I'd have given them three stars because the price was good and it does the job, but when we made the reservation is said we would be charged a $40 deposit and they charged us $100. It was for our anaversary and we didn't have much to go up with to begin with so that was very upsetting. And also just on principal that is not okay. The valet parking is something like 36 dollars and then a tip and you have to call 20 minutes early, but if you go around the corner there's over night parking for 20, 28 for in and out. They're really fast there too. The particular area is especially gross. Tons of litter in the streets, lots of smoking, broken furniture just out on the sidewalk. I know that's partly just San Francisco but it was seriously disgusting. The hotel was fairly clean. . At least...
