Came tonight, was not impressed, especially for the cost.
After ordering drinks, we waited 20 minutes, the last five of which the drinks were sitting on the bar a few feet away. We finally pointed the drinks out to someone so they could bring it over (I think the owner). I’d recommend bringing drinks within the first 10-15 minutes after ordering and letting us sip while waiting for food.
Then the chicken main came dead-first, with the bread and dips appetizer arriving very last. Very weird coursing. I’d recommend starting with the appetizer then ending with a chicken main.
We were sat at a small bar table, and the plate for the chicken was oversized and filled the whole table top, leaving little room for drinks and silverware. The staff brought over share plates, which literally overflowed the table so i had to hold the small plate with one hand so it didn’t fall off the small tabletop while serving from the main plate. A recommendation would be to maybe serve the chicken on a smaller plate if a party is sitting at the smaller tables. These are the small things that make a big difference and justify a higher cost restaurant.
The food itself was okay, but nothing amazing. We were recommended to get the bread and dips (which came last) — and were not anything special.
At dessert, the waitress asked who ordered which coffee as she brought it over, we told her, then she promptly handed the wrong one to each of us. There were only two in our party.
I would recommend you skip and try somewhere else; there are so many good...
Read moreA cozy and vibrant gem in San Francisco
Dacha is one of those rare places in San Francisco where you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you step in. The atmosphere is warm and intimate — casual enough to relax, yet elegant enough to feel special. Whether you’re coming in for a full meal or just a drink, there’s a quiet sense of hospitality that makes you want to stay longer.
The food is always beautifully plated — you can tell there’s thought and care behind every dish. Their interpretation of classic Eastern European flavors feels fresh, bright, and deeply satisfying. The Mimosa Salad, with its light layers and a surprising touch of crisp apple, was a standout. Every ingredient tasted fresh and seasonal, and the balance of flavors was spot on.
The house-made infusions are another highlight. I brought home their passionfruit nastoyka, which has become one of my favorite after-dinner sips. And every time I come back, there’s something new — a creative cocktail, a seasonal dish, or a thoughtful little twist on a familiar flavor.
The service here is consistently excellent. The staff are friendly, patient, and clearly passionate about what they do. It feels less like a restaurant and more like being a guest in someone’s (stylish) home.

Read moreDacha is an absolute gem, a cozy, relaxing, and unique dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you’ll be greeted by the super friendly and welcoming staff who will make you feel right at home. The décor of vibrant yet intimate ambience conveys the feeling of Dacha, a traditional country cottage by a lake or river, surrounded by vegetable patches and berry bushes, where many Eastern European families spend their summers.
But the real heart of Dacha is the exquisite taste, aroma, and appearance of its creative European-Eastern European fusion cuisine. Every bite was delicious in an evening meal with Piroshki appetizers, Dacha Beef Goulash, and Winter Salmon and in a delightful brunch of Syrniki Brulee. On an equally-elevated sensory level are the cocktails and spirit-free drink options developed from the experience of mixologist Katya who, with co-owner Suki, started Manhattan Zodiac cocktail catering company as prelude to the conception and opening of Dacha Kitchen and Bar.
I can’t wait to return to sample Dacha’s Spring menu refresh that includes new entrees such as Pojarskaya Chicken Cutlet (stuffed with butter and dill), Mimosa Salad, and novel soups and desserts (black currant tart and honey cake). Dacha’s menu fully covers vegan and...
