I am writing to share my recent experience at your establishment, which, regrettably, fell far below the standard of service and hospitality that one would expect from a professional lodging facility. My party and I arrived promptly at 3:00 PM for check-in, only to be met with a lobby full of equally frustrated guests waiting for their accommodations to be prepared. At the front desk, we were informed that our room would not be available for another 15 to 30 minutes due to a shortage in housekeeping staff. Unfortunately, this estimate was not honored, and our wait time soon extended to 45 minutes to an hour.||||This delay was particularly troubling as we had traveled specifically to attend the MW concert and had limited time to prepare and arrange transportation to the venue. The disorganization and lack of preparedness during the check-in process disrupted what should have been an exciting and well-coordinated evening.||||After expressing our concern, we were referred to the manager on duty, Ms. Leanne, who initially appeared to be accommodating. She assured us that a room would be ready within 15 minutes and issued us keys accordingly. At that time, she mentioned that maintenance staff would be entering the room after our departure to the concert to adjust the thermostat and change out the A/C filters. She explicitly reassured us that, while the maintenance was scheduled, the air conditioning was fully functional and the room was adequately cool.||||This was not the case.||||Upon entering the room, it was immediately evident that the temperature was uncomfortably high—far warmer than described—and not at all conducive to getting ready for an event. To exacerbate matters, the in-room telephones were inoperative, compelling us to use our personal mobile phones to reach the front desk and request a stand-alone fan. As a result, we were forced to prepare ourselves for the evening’s event in what felt like a sweltering 80-degree environment.||||Despite Ms. Leanne’s continued assurances, the situation only deteriorated upon our return to the hotel later that night, around midnight. We were dismayed to find the room had transformed into a veritable sauna. The hallway outside the room was significantly cooler. A check of the thermostat revealed the interior temperature had climbed to 87 degrees Fahrenheit.||||We once again contacted the front desk and spoke with an employee named Jose. He informed us that there was nothing further the hotel could do at that moment. While the cost of our night's stay was refunded, it seemed the hotel believed this monetary concession absolved them of any further responsibility, regardless of the deeply uncomfortable and unhealthy environment we had been placed in.||||Jose reportedly contacted Ms. Leanne that evening, whose response was that the room had already been comped and no additional accommodations would be provided. Left with few alternatives, my guests and I attempted to rest in the oppressive heat. We went to bed around 1:00 AM and awoke at 4:30 AM to an even more stifling and humid room.||||The conditions were not merely uncomfortable—they were physically detrimental. I developed an intense heat rash around my neck, and my psoriasis flared up significantly. My bestfriend awoke with a severe bloody nose, undoubtedly brought on by the stifling, dry heat and lack of ventilation.||||Following yet another call to the front desk, Jose ultimately offered to move us to a different room, one with a functioning air conditioning unit—an action that, while appreciated, came far too late to salvage the quality of our stay.||||In conclusion, this experience was deeply disappointing on many levels—operationally, professionally, and personally. While I understand that unforeseen staffing or maintenance issues can occur, the repeated assurances, misinformation, and lack of urgency in resolving critical comfort and health concerns were inexcusable. Guests deserve transparency, timely communication, and an environment that supports their well-being. Regrettably, those basic expectations were not met during our visit.||||I sincerely hope this feedback is taken into serious consideration, and that measures are implemented to prevent such egregious oversights...
Read moreThe front desk is cheerful, but quick to slide the credit card transaction before I was able to complete my question. Parking is $15/vehicle. THE room key is difficult to use in the elevator. My brother had his in his wallet and the reader could not read past the pocket, so he took off a card on top and tapped again. And he still had to put everything down to take the card out and finally hold the key to the reader another few times. I couldn't tell if I had to wait for the door to shut completely for the reader to read before I can even press on the floor buttons. On an early morning elevator ride down another patron had her dog and pointed out the piece of tissue on the floor of the elevator. I wasn't sure what she tried to say, I guess to watch out for the trash?
THE SUITE is great to look and walk into. My neice and brother enjoyed the rolling ottoman pieces. The bathroom vanity mirror is so cool and big
The remote needed new batteries, we didnt get to call maintenance as it took all day for them to get to our request anyway.they did add extra towels. Sadly the walls are still paper thin!! We had the room above sounding like they were smashing heavy items on the floor on and off in the afternoon. It woke my mother and I at 2am. Then my brother woke up to use the bathroom and heard procreation through the vents.
THE POOL: Using the pool was fine, the times start late at 10am. Their towels and chairs are fully stocked. Unfortunately the pool wasnt heated and the pool bathroom was trashed. There was blood spotted tissues on the sink, and the toilet was impossible to use with the toilet seat cover bulk covered on and all over the toilet area.
BREAKFAST: The seating was the best and roomy with different seat variations as well.
However a lot of serving handles, and condiment bottles I touched were sticky. I asked for blueberries and they were only able to dash a few in their next tray. I went back and forth to check for the fruit tray, so I wish they just told me they didn't have them. The eggs seemed to be from powder since they were dry. The bagels and toast is always a busy corner. Having the pancake syrup right next to the bread case may not be the best idea since it was cornered between the buffet and toaster! I always felt someone lined up behind me and ive forgotten to grab what i needed to grab. There was a whole buffet section of casing that wasn't being used, but the sterno and serving ware could have been stored there to control the crowding. I made the mistake of grabbing pancakes from the bottom of the hot plate, and it was tough to chew. I think the pancakes were still a better option than the French toast.
For the cost this experience the...
Read moreI have been stationed in San Jose for work for the past six weeks, and having stayed at several hotels in the area, I will now ONLY ever return to the Hyatt House San Jose Airport — the hotel service and cleanliness is a cut above the rest!
Jose, the supervisor at the Front Desk, saved the day when my coworker and I had to leave another hotel early due to a homeless encampment outside and some related safety issues. Jose also had his colleague Cecilia help us to secure rooms at the last minute so that we could continue to work despite the unexpected move from another hotel. We were able to check in early with a same-day booking, to park both of our vehicles and were even upgraded to a room with a great view!
The Hyatt House is incredibly clean inside of the rooms and throughout the hotel, and maintenance is very proactive. The maid service and handymen can be regularly seen getting ahead of any small issues on the outside of the building, and staff at all levels of management are committed to running this operation smoothly. They even have a QR code that helps to ensure that guests are able to show their appreciation for specific members of staff, which also keeps the hotel atmosphere cheery.
The rooms are spacious and the kitchens are well-endowed, with a toaster oven and a microwave, as well as a full set of dishware and silverware. The dishwasher, dishwashing detergent and dish soap as well as a Scrub Mommy sponge are provided. The hotel has thought of everything, with a corkscrew and a dishtowel waiting for the guest upon entry to the kitchen. Some suites are equipped with full size refrigerators and freezers, and all suites have in-unit temperature control on a thermostat. The bathrooms are modern, clean, and the water is hot at all times of day. The hotel is safe and very close to PayPal Corporate Park, as well as the SJC airport.
It is clear why this hotel is so often booked entirely out, and I highly recommend that you snag a room here if you are considering a stay in San Jose. Online many of the hotels look quite similar, but take it from me, the Hyatt House San Jose Airport is the best hotel you can find...
