TGI’s SUSHI TOO — Restaurant in San Jose

I visited TGI's Sushi for dinner with some coworkers on a Tuesday night. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, which made for a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. We ordered a variety of items including the 49er Roll, Dragon Roll, Rainbow Roll, Tuna Lover Roll, Honeymoon Roll, Erik's Special Roll, Peter Roll, and a Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box.

The service was excellent; our food and drinks arrived very quickly, and the waitstaff were both polite and attentive. Each sushi roll was generously sized and quite filling, which we appreciated. The flavors were great, and we particularly enjoyed the Dragon Roll and the Tuna Lover Roll.

However, one minor downside was that the shrimp tempura in some of the rolls was a bit dry. Despite this, the overall experience was very enjoyable, and we left feeling satisfied. TGI's Sushi is definitely a place we would recommend and return to for...

The food is usually very good at this place, but maybe I am getting too picky. I was having lunch with one of my colleagues, he ordered the Salmon Teriyaki, and I ordered the 2-item Bento Box with beef teriyaki, spicy tuna roll, and Tempura with no shrimp, just vegetables. The salmon teriyaki came and was good, my bento box came and the first thing I noticed was the shrimp in the tempura, and I am very allergic to shrimp. They took it back and brought the vegetable tempura. The beef teriyaki and the tempura was really good. The spicy tuna roll was terrible, spicy and did not taste good. I could not eat more than too pieces. Service was good, but I have to start sending some of this food back, it is just...

Excellent sushi… definitely great quality for the price point.

Staff is very kind and incredibly fast for the volume of customers they get around lunch.

The lunch “sushi combo” is a pretty good value item for the lunch crowd.

The only area of opportunity I’d note is something most restaurants struggle with which is cleaning tables thoroughly between customers. Most just use the same dirty rag for prolonged periods and just basically use it to push large debris off the tables. So it looks cleaner but it’s really not any better when it comes to bacteria in fact probably worse. Seeing better table cleaning would definitely make this a 5 star restaurant in my view since everything else...
